    I love this lady, she's a breath of fresh air. I have never been more interested in Arduino til I watched her channel. Keep up the awesome work! Cheers from Texas.

    I really like this. I'm trying to figure out how to keep everything smooth for a skull, but the repaint helps a lot.

    This video is amazing! Really informative and such a cool nice vibe from her! This video gets me excited for the project I'm working on! I do have a question about cleaning the brushes! How do I clean them, do I wash them out with just water? Also, can I reuse them again when I do different rounds of paint?

    Thank You for posting this video. Always wondered how the paint sticks to latex rubber. Great tutorial!

      So far, I've found that the 50/50 liquid latex and acrylic paint is the most beginner-friendly and budget-friendly way to do it!

    This was a very helpful video. How do you paint silver scratches on latex to mimic worn metal?

    I will be using this tutorial for painting my own latex masks. I have old showbiz pizza animatronic masks that I have to paint.

      @@RachelDeBarrosLive that’s awesome, I wish I could of experienced them in their prime. If you want a little trip down memory lane, I have some videos related to them. (Be warned, it reveals all the mechanics, so if you don’t want the magic ruined 🤣) I am in the process of finishing them up though.

    Great video! I had a question tho, if I'm using rubber cement paint, what type of seaker should I use? Any paint sealer? Because I'm thinking if it is a non flexible one, then all the work with the flexible paint is ruined.

    I'm so ready to experiment on my test mask- half mask will be oil and naptha... the other half will be acrylic and liquid latex...

    India ink with alcohol is what I would use, not paint so it won’t have the chance of flaking at all. However, there is no going back to a clean slate, so definitely start with lighter colors and finish with the darker colors

      India ink is a great idea! I'll have to give it a test run the next time I have to paint a mask.

    Well there's a different kind of project, or obviously one I haven't seen yet. Reminds me of grade school art class but with a much more attractive teacher.
    I'm certainly more interested in the animatronics. When will you be digging into that??

    I have a question I want to use rubber cement glue to re paint a latex mask. the color isn't totally accurate to the real thing when it arrived.. So my question should I apply the rubber cement separate or can I mix in with my paint and apply at once?

    Could ready to go latex mask paint or 50/50 liquid latex and acrylic be the brushed with a mop mouilleur brush 1/2 in small amounts?I have a Halloween ends Myers mask with small details that were covered up with the stock paint but now I don’t want to risk accidentally covering up the smaller details

    What if I messed up and painted it with acrylic before I did any research … how do I remove the acrylic and start over ? Is that possible or am I fucked? And yes it cracked ..

    • @RachelDeBarrosLive
      @RachelDeBarrosLive  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      No worries! I did the same thing my first time. Peel off as much of the acrylic paint as you can from the areas that started to crack. Then, take a green kitchen scuff pad and go over every part of the mask that was painted. Unfortunately you won't be able to remove the paint but it will give you a better surface to start over from. If it's a cheap Halloween mask, your most reliable option is to buy another one. But I've had success trying to salvage some of mine.

    I got a question. If I wanted to run one of the latex mixtures through an airbrush, how would I thin it down? Water?

    • @RachelDeBarrosLive
      @RachelDeBarrosLive  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, you can thin all the recipes I mentioned down with water to use in an airbrush - EXCEPT the Rubber Cement + Oil Paint + Solvent. For that one you just add more solvent until you get the consistency you like.

  • @jaxonv2098
    @jaxonv2098 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    For rubber cement paint your website says 30/50/20 Rubber Cement + Oil Paint + Solvent (Naphtha) but your video shows different. Which is the right ratio?

    • @RachelDeBarrosLive
      @RachelDeBarrosLive  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you are painting with a paint brush, then the ratio on the website is a better starting point. The ratio in the video is more appropriate for air brushes. Thanks for pointing that out 👍 I'll update that both on the website and video description!

    • @jaxonv2098
      @jaxonv2098 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ok thanks I use both the paint brush and an iwata airbrush. Ratio with the 50% oil pigment had my attention. I never used that much because oil take forever to dry but I'll try it. Liquid latex hard to get this time of year without shipping and freezing.

    I just have question dose the same thing work for masks if you want to were ?

    • @RachelDeBarrosLive
      @RachelDeBarrosLive  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes it does! If you plan on wearing a store-bought mask that doesn't have a great paint job, you can paint it using this exact same technique and once it dries, you can put it on for Halloween, theater, or any costume and you don't have to worry about the paint chipping or flaking off.
