Waltz is overrated, I'd agree on Fassbender though. And I would add Joaquin Phoenix, just for keeping up with another brilliant performance by PSH in The Master.
Eddie Redmayne, Leonardo Dicaprio, Meryll Streep, Viola Davis. they are out there and they are beautiful. Phillip was incredible and definitely an inspiration to anyone of the craft. I do not understand how no one could step in and help him :/
Joshua Doss Besides Viola Davis those are all big Hollywood actors who never played those "petty small roles" the OP was talking about though.
Octavia Spencer.
Already 2 of those nominees are dead.
Fame comes at a high price it seems.
So be careful what you wish for, maybe you already have a perfect life and your "idols" struggle way more then you do. Just sayin'....ah, and f**k drugs.
One of the best lineups in the category's history. Love the smile that Joaquin has when Philip Seymour Hoffman (it's cool, I never wanna just say Phillip or just Hoffman, guess that's my body's way of showing respect. :D) won.
10 años sin tu gran talento, demasiado joven nos dejaste, pedazo de actor, 😢
Philip was an exceptional actor. He played his roles so well and received little recognition for for them. It’s not easy to play scared or the bad guy but he did it well. We lost a very great actor.
What a tragic, tragic, awful shame Mr Seymour Hoffman is no longer with us.. May he rest in eternal peace. Godbless you Philip..You did brilliant.. Goodbye my friend..Gonna miss you like....words that just cannot adequately express my feelings at this horrible time, emotions too raw.. You had so much talent it was amazing to witness..Thank you kindly..You made many many people happy.. Rxxxxx
Double heartbreak, seeing Philip Seymour Hoffman and Heath Ledger...
R.I.P Philip seymour hoffman 1967 - 2014
Terrence howard
R.I.P Heath ledger 1979 - 2008
Joaquin phoenix
David strathairn
And the oscar goes to
PHILIP SEYMOUR HOFFMAN
REST IN PEACE PHILIP SEYMOUR HOFFMAN AND HEATH LEDGER
When I saw the coming attraction for The Joker for both Heath Ledger and Joaquin Phoenix I just knew they would win Oscars for that role. I was speechless, literally, when I saw them. Just stunning portrayals.
One of the best actors of our time, if not the best. RIP Mr. Hoffman. One of my favorite movies of all time is " The Talented Mr. Ripley ", if you haven't seen it go and watch it now.
Great great movie. So disappointed we don't get to see more of his amazing talent, very sad. Same for Heath Ledger. RIP to both of them.
@@billj4525two amazing actors
Can't believe he's gone. God bless his family. We lost another legend to addiction. It's time to reach out and save an addicted person's life
An amazing actor. If youre a fan of movies done the right way then you know we lost a good one today.
Hoffman beat Ledger and later Ledger beat Hoffman.
Jfc....that's actually true.
PSH's Oscar win was so well deserved, but I can't wait for the day when Joaquin Phoenix gets his due.
might be seeing it very soon now :)
It's coming.
Yes!
and he finally got it! 😊
And he won the last sunday, finally!
Tough year - ALL *outstanding* performances - very rare for an Oscar year.
For me 1. Ledger 2. Hoffman 3. Strathairn
We lost two actors who were destined to become one of the greatest actors of all time...
RIP Philip Seymour Hoffman and Heath Ledger
I agree, and it happened right around the same time. Two of my favorites.
Hilary Swank - good lord! Philip Seymour Hoffman, what a true talent. But truth be told, all the nominees were stellar.
1:22 I have zero chance.
this breaks my heart both of my fav actors have passed and joaquin who lost a brother due to drugs... Always stay strong guys!!
1:31 It's so glad to see Joaquin phoenix and Heath Ledger in one screen 😍
WHEW that was an amazing lineup, if only the great Philip Seymour Hoffman could be here sharing his art with us still today. What a loss
He's one of the greatests....
The way he mentioned his mom is so heartwarming ❤
I'm glad he got to win this, and feel the love and admiration from his peers. I hope he knew how many people considered him their favourite actor in the world.
I just watched the movie Doubt, and I didn't know this legend is no more with us.
It tears me up to see the way Michelle looked at Heath. She really loved him.
Yeah, and how about all those drug addicts in the audience and on stage !!!
I came here after watching Capote!!! It’s on HBO Max if you all haven’t seen it. WOW PSH!!!!! Wow.
Saw this movie and Hoffman did a good job, obviously. But, Strathairn also did a great job. Tough competition.
