Yes muzan at his weakest state was easily fending off all hashiras lmao. Kokushibo was hardly figuring 2 hashiras and head cut off thanks to 4 in total. He fairly lost the battle against 4 humans . So long for 400 years of sword fight experience . Unlimited regeneration and stanima. Yorichi blood and talent. All to lose against 4 people below the age of 25...
I mean he freely admitted that Gyomei was by far the strongest warrior he’d seen in centuries. Gyomei was a legend and hard carried that fight, if anyone was worth of putting down Kokushibo it was him

Gyomei literally landed 3 blows throughout a fight that lasted for 15 fucking chapters Kokushibo in his second form was humiliating gyomei+ sanemi+ muichirou all on the offensive The dude was robbed off his Regen , bda and stamina and kept in one place ALL THANKS TO GENYA and a dying muichirou and still gyomei and sanemi couldn't scratch his head unless they turned their blades red lmao That's how far koku was above them , gyomei couldn't behead a wriggling bda less koku who couldn't move and was in pain, with all his power Multi blade koku literally killed genya and muichirou in one strike while dislocating sanemis shoulder , and the ridiculous thing is he never even got to use this form because it was too strong In monster form he teleported in front of gyomeis eyes and again because he was too strong the author had to kill him right there and then Gyomei literally was getting his ass clapped left and right , he arrived at muzan fight all bloody with bandages from his torso to his upper arms , his cloak literally got soaked with blood

My favourite shounen is Barefoot Gen and that is from 1973 and the main villain in it was life itself and no one is beating that. Kokushibou was only the third villain after that Barefoot Gen and Utsuro from Gintama which I actually liked and trust me I read up I am caught up on as many manga's not just Shounen. Tokyo uni and French professors literally made him and KNY the subject of their thesis which were published. It's only the international audience/community which underplays Kimetsu.

The sad fact with the series author is they wanted to wrap this series up, and as they were doing that, the anime came out and popularity EXPLODED, but for Gotege, it was too late, she already started her path towards the rushed and slow end.

still wonder how tanjiro vs kokushibo would have went... would koko have cried due to the sun breath or would he of gotten angrier? mourning loss or screaming rage? the power would have ultimately meant nothing unless the 2cd answer, and what would have happened to koko's relationship to muzan if he were to switch? would koko of broken free? would he of been the end? what would have happened to him when muzan died? would he die too because of how much blood isn't his? or would muzan's blood died and he would be the controller? we may never know...
most probably koku would be furious after he and muzan tried to exterminate all the people who knew sun breathing, trying to kill tanjiro and noticing his earrings remembering yoriichi, and tanjiro would smooth talk him back to his humanity, that would most probably cause him going against muzan if this did happen muzan would be broken and hopeless, cause obv koku is the second single strongest character alive, if koku joined demon slayers muzan would be left no choice but to kill him and maybe koku would survive like yushiro did being an ancient fighter honestly this would be a great opportunity to start a new manga where main characters come across kokushibo
If memories arent in the story koku would desteoy tanjiro even 13th sun form still koku is too op and we still havent seen his full strenght cuz he died before he could show us

Alternate story: kokushibo wins his fight in the infinity castle arc and during muzan’s fight, sneakily kills Muzan and consumes as much of his blood as he can becoming the new demon king and becomes the final boss, he then tells Tanjiro that he was the one who killed his family but carried muzan’s blood with him hoping to turn them into demons when the blood only worked on nezuko Edit: or another story where the same thing happens except he flees creating a new arc about finding him and killing him
