The best thing I ever did after around a year on carnivore was to eat pizza, burgers, fries and ice cream over a weekend.
Shows conclusively that carbs are bloody awful, all the aches, pains and brain fog returned almost instantly. The headache, runny nose and eyes and muscle cramps took me by surprise however.
Definitely a reminder not to eat crap. Haven't felt the need to do it again, and that was a couple of years ago., I frankly don't need the stress and discomfort

So true. I have been Keto since last January and a carnivore since April '23. This year is the first year I have been healthy all winter. When I was whole foods but lots of carbs, veggies and fruit, I was constantly fighting colds and feeling crappy in winter. I would take tons of supplements to ward off illness and never felt very good until summer and sunshine returned.
The irony is, they want people to have low LDL. I had low LDL when I was constantly sick. Now my LDL is "too high" and I am super healthy. Makes me wonder if that is the whole idea behind pushing people to lower LDL. Maybe it is to keep everyone sick. 🤔

My newborns wouldn’t drink for 12 hours - just natural! Breast milk takes about three days to come in properly. I was fascinated with the statement that human babies are born ‘chubby’ unlike other animals. I hadn’t thought about that before - but it’s true in my experience on our farm. Is this to supply ketones via the fat for the development of our big brains?

When I'm exhausted from a long stressful day at work, I can feel the effect of consuming fat on my brain.
I'll get this calm, content feeling. Whereas if I consume sugar at such a time, I'll first get all hyperactive, then anxious, and then later I'll get crash and feel depressed.

My parents put honey on my soother when I was a baby because I talked too much and they wanted me to shut up. I was talking at about 9 months and it was driving them bananas. wow. that is unfortunate. back in my day, the tins of Sunripe Apple juice we went thru was shocking. gave that in a feeding bottle. probably key that my little sister has struggled so much with eating disorders and such. all this busted information of the day. at least humans have two sets of teeth.
honey is many times worse than raw sugar, not sure where the obesity patients all figure that gives them some kinda magic pass.
the ancient egyptians used to store honey - might have something to do with it. but. they knew about gold dentistry .. and how harmful grains were on the teeth, bones, eyes.
not sure when the researchers started to inquire into that historical ‘ why ‘ .. but they didn’t use it to eat. many thousands of types of bees, but the honey bees are rare, prized, they used it to heal. used the wax for art, sealing jars. many discoveries.
or .. used it like most of the ‘ natural preservation techniques ‘.
they use substances that microbes don’t eat. like. salt. or other competing molds. like the rinds on cheese. sometimes you can eat those. like brie. sometimes you need to remove them. like wax.
look up the latest literature the past five or ten years on ‘ medical honey ‘. and ‘ silver bandaids ‘. works kind of along the same lines. medical honey in a bandage stops other types of harmful bits from interfering with the healing process.
it is anti-microbial. which is great.
but. eating that. an anti-microbial .. your microbes must be all out of wack. trying to attack it. or. well. who can know.
      just do your own survey.
next time you are at Starbucks.
      what is the body composition
      of that person …
      choosing which sweetness.
      organic cream for me.
      or black.
sugar is a highly refined carb.
      changes your mouth microbiome.
any sweetness. even if you spit it out.
your body gets an insulin hit request.
that is why bulimia was so difficult to figure out.
the carb content of anything you eat, should be super low. totally not needed. overloads the body.
the diabetes crowd should be your reverse barometer for what happens when you eat a standard diet. ruins you.
2,500 years ago, they saw a link to carbs flavoring the urine. all this time they figure somehow that if we feed you more of that. you will makeup for how deficient you have become. eating carbs in the first place.
shame we drug them to let them eat milder opiates .. that’s what high carb diets are doing to anyone really. doesn’t need to happen. at all.
they knew long ago that meats and leafy greens kept those patients healthy. before the invention of insulin.
we didn’t really figure all the carbs and starches were so bad .. in 1869 - 1921, since decent meat was available to the middle classes. so. about 30 years to show up as AMD. then. scales up to bonkersville in modern times.
when the paupers had zero, they would swipe a fresh loaf of bread. then pass out from the hit to your system.
and .. 1869 was the beginning of oleomargarine due to a challenge to find a butter substitute. oh well. you cannot beat mother nature. butter goes back. way. way. way back. at least 5,000 years.
humanity couldn’t have existed w/o that bit of magic. from domesticated livestock.
      city folk didn’t have livestock.
maybe we should ditch cats for goats.
      cats are quieter tho.

6:51 I ripple with only mildly veiled frustration every single time I hear an 'expert' say 'glucose (from the ingestion of carbs) is your bodies PREFERRED energy source' -- when, in my learning, glucose is PRIORITISED when it's exogenously consumed, to ensure that overall levels do not stay high for long, because it's DEADLY to us in large measure. Gluconeogenesis allows our bodies to CREATE glucous spontaneously when required.

I often wonder what would happen if we were to feed the prisoners a therapeutic ketogenic, possibly plant-free, diet. I feel that a large population of these criminals are committed because they are metabolically mentally unwell, & that feeding them a diet full of protein & saturated fat might restore their mental disorders & help them function normally again in society. And I can’t help but think that this approach might be a cheaper option than the cheap garbage that they feed them now. I think that most prisoners would suddenly start behaving well & so they could get back out into the world so much sooner. The prison guards would benefit from it immensely as well…

Carbs were really bad for him and he now has a much calmer demeanor and is willing to learn, after just 2 months of cutting down carbs and introducing more meat and fat in his diet It is difficult to fully change to carnivore suddenly without the approval and support of the other family members. Hopefully the difference would become evident to them in the coming months. I'm hypothyroidism and is feeling more energetic after switching to carnivore. No more bloating and have lost a lot of lower abdominal fat which used to be impossible except through fasting for extended periods following which I would get it all back . Never saw anyone talking to this subject except when (V.Longo?) says you can « reset » your immune rections with a 48-72hr fast. Is it possible that lack of proteins causes the body to sacrifice lesser important cells like WBC, NK cells, etc and if so, what happens to immunization status procured by vaccines? Or do the protein maintain themselves 100% by recycling themselves?

The argument is not that fructose is good in honey or fruits, but that our body can handle it through the liver and that the benefits of fruits and berries outweigh the fructose, especially since fruits and berries are seasonal and used to be only available for a few months at most historically. Of course this does not translate to eating an apple a day, but maybe 100g of strawberrys once a week.
Personally I think fruits and berrys fall in this category of "we ate that for 2 million years, so it's probably fine", they were always available unlike vegetables which require much much more effort to cultivate and harvest. No paleo-human would dig out measly tiny pre-historic carrots unless they were starving, but they were definitely snacking a few raspberries when they found some, so in low dosage fruits & berries should be fine.

This was a good and informative talk. Honey is sugar water but also has many impurities. This can include heavy metals from car exhaust. It depends on the environment that the bees get their nectar to what and how much impurities are in it. City or by the highway honey will contain more undesirable impurities. Honey taste good but is probably the dirtiest form of sugar.

Dr. Chaffee, other "TH-camrs" suggested that I reach out to you with this question...
I have been eating really low carb for four years now. Carnivore, most days, since Oct. 2023.
I've started having symptoms of low blood sugar which prompted me to start checking my levels.
Yesterday, it was 88 then I ate dinner. Instead of going up it dropped to 54 at 1 hour after the meal. At 2 hours it rose to 82. The only carbs in that meal was from a few slices of cucumbers and the only reason I ate them was to see if it made a difference as my blood sugar did the same thing the day before.
Most days, my fasted numbers are in the 60s and 70s, so I was surprised to be in the 80s. The numbers don't bother me, it's the way I feel when it drops. My head felt like it was going to explode, I felt extremely weak and felt like I was going to throw up. My ketones are on the low side. The highest they've ever been is .7 which has been so disappointing because I feel like I try so hard.
Let me add that, about 28 years ago, I was diagnosed with reactivate hypoglycemia and hyperinsulinemia. I was told then to lower my carbs and eat 3 meals and 2 or 3 snacks per day which I tried it back then, but no, I do not eat that way now.
Some days I have 1 meal, some days 2, some days 3 - depends on how I feel and my level of hunger...but that's it. I don’t snack...Ever.
I felt great when I went keto and even better when I first went carnivore.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks in advance!

Tell your family and friends that that your are going through a type of withdrawal and are not avoiding them due to how it makes you feel/behave. According to Gary Breaka the human body after depleting its stores of glycogen will get energy from muscle and not fat. He suggests muscle takes 3 minutes to liquify and fat takes 5 hours. If that is so, how can the body make ketones when it’s cannibalizing muscle tissue.

    •  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

My guess is that data is based on a study done on carb-eating people. It's known that eating carbs causes people to not be fat adapted which makes it harder to burn fat - both yours and eaten.

    • @kingketodaily
      @kingketodaily 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

that is because when you spike insulin on a carb diet, it has a long long half-life, so you can't access your fat stores. Insulin inhibits Hormone Sensitive Lipase. That lipase is responsible for freeing up fatty acids and glycerol from triglycerides. so by definition, you can't access fat stores when your insulin is up, and thereby for you to not become hypoglycemic when you deplete glycogen stores, your body has to draw glucose from your own lean muscle tissues.
      That's the reason.
