- 00:00 William Shatner returns and talks to Adam about hitchhiking across the country in the 1940s. Adam recalls a 1982 clip of Shatner in ‘Circus of the Stars’ and the guys give their thoughts on a few commercials ranging from the 1970s to today.
55:46 Segment 2: The guys also discuss kayaking, eating bugs, and tiger sharks. Finally, William recalls his Comedy Central Roast in 2006 and compares it to the Tom Brady Roast.
01:29:55 Chris Mazzilli joins the show next and talks about working with Robert Downey Jr. on Downey’s Dream Cars. The guys chat about Corvettes and racing before Adam brings up a car that he tried to win at auction years ago.

Shatner's as sharp as a tack! It breaks my heart to think about a world without him in it...
It’s hard to believe he is 93, sharper then most in their 70s
This interview is far better than the Bill Maher Club Random interview. I think it's the quality of the interviewer. But I love William Shatner so much, I would even tolerate Maher's rude AF interviewing style to hear anything Mr. Shatner had to say if he'd let him. Thank you for this, Adam. You rock.
Scrolling through the few comments, there's probably about 20, and wishing I hadn't done so. Now I'm just pissed off. wtf is wrong with people? This man is a legend and the oldest to go to space, even. To pass the physical to be allowed to go to space at age 90 no less is miraculous in and of itself. The bitchy ones in the comment section have no idea what they have here. I loved him as the Big Giant Head on 3rd rock from the sun, too. Playing off of John Lithgow must've been a blast. That entire cast was just bananas and how perfectly suited they were to one another. It was just the right amount of absurd to be fricken hysterical. I want to see this man reach age 100. Someone get the bubble wrap. And find out what's in his drinking water.
Incorrect, Shatner trolling Maher is the greatest thing ever.
Shatner and Adam are friends. That goes miles ahead to make the interview superior. Great stuff here folks. Adam's studios and Shatner's equestrian club are very near to each other. I bet they see each other much more often than is spoken of here...good observation nope on a rope :)
Maher gets up ten minutes early each day to spend more time with himself.
I just recently saw one of Maher's with Bill Burr. Near the end, Burr got pissed that Maher would keep interrupting and not let him answer the question. When he angrily said something about it, Maher just kept on going, probably too drunk to realize it.
Adam’s childhood was so like mine. Watching Love Boat and amazed at these sophisticated people traveling with matching luggage. The Brady Bunch having cars that actually ran reliably. From another planet
They were filming streets of san francisco near our house. Micheal douglas walked right past our ragged group of kids. Karl Malden came over and said to us where is the nearest store? We pointed up the street. Karl malden said who wants ice cream? He walked with us to the store and bought ice cream for maybe six of us. He then sat down on the curb with us in his trenchcoat and hat and asked each of us our names and where we went to school as we ate our ice cream together. Then we walked back to the set and watched them film the scene. We booed micheal douglas after they finished filming the scene. After that we loved karl malden and despised micheal douglas. Karl Malden. What a great man he was!
Why did you despise Michael Douglas?
Man, that is as cool as it gets. I remember during that era I would see the production out and about in various locations throughout SF. What district did this happen? Sunset boy here needs to know!
@@mexicanspec because he ignored a gang of kids begging for his autograph. Could not have been more rude. Fuck micheal douglas
@@leomannpictures sunset bro. Right at great highway and irving. We went to busy bee market for the ice cream

I love it when Adam gets together with Shatner. You can tell they enjoy each other's company. Great conversations!!! Thank you
William Shatner is amazing. At the age of 93 he looks like he’s 73 at the most.
53
I didn't even fkn notice his age until your comment. Wowww FML.
His curious mind is the reason I think
I am a LONG TIME shatman fan. And I have noticed some significamt mental decline. He is not nearly as sharp as he used to be. He used to be way more witty and animated. Bill used to be funny. Now I wanna watch some TJ Hooker.
Ever notice his date of birth in relation to his character? Remember who he followed back in time & when as well as to where it is all event 201 related FYI. Crown Virus kicked off when March 3 2020 what is the skull&BONES method of controlling you=Crown Virus=322=to keep you sick enough to be an idiot slave. The 201 is TA-201 LOS=the which also means the claw hence the jew claw used by Guinan & Q on 10 forward as the male is claw female is claws. You're welcome for the lesson on the meaning of the words you use. You are what is called the audience of the trial that never ended, goodl luck with that.
Shatner took the Star Trek saying " Live Long And Prosper " to heart
At 93 William Shatner is proof that the most important thing when we get older is to keep our brains and bodies active.
Man I hope I can be as lively as Mr. Shatner at his age! Legend, and a true American icon. 🙏🏼
The guy is Canadian 😊
We aint reaching that age to begin with
@@RandoCDN87 That was yet another fake comment. So many of these fake and wrong comments here.
Shatner moved from Quebec to NYC in the 1950s. He's never applied for US citizenship and still has a green card.
Watching and listening to 93 year old William Shatner reveals just how bad off our president really is. Great show again, Adam!
“What’d you do for money?” Awkward pause.😂 Reminds me of the bumper sticker from the seventies. “Gas, grass or ass. No one rides for free.”
Bill. Shatner is still entertaining at his age. Amazing. Adam makes it look easy
William Shatner is just the best. What an incredible human.
Oh wow this should be a great show with Shatner
Watching old commercials with the Shat has just been put at the top of my bucket list.
Another Shatner episode? Hell yeah.
I’m obsessed with a Mid 70’s Coke commercial, set at a gas station, Guy and girl flirting, black teen washing car, he was from Room 222?
Drives me nuts
❤ Shatner! He’s amazing to be doing what he does at 93.
"But the Travelers Check are in your wallet" Quick as hell! My dad was like that in his early ninties. The last four years of his life, not so much. Love you dad!!!
Shatner is pure Americana and a Gem of a Man. Definitely well interviewed by Adam. Godspeed Bill Shatner.
He's Canadian.
@@clvrswine Is your name Karen by any chance?
I worked at a regional theater in New England. One day I was tasked to go through the archive to put together a display for the theater's 40th anniversary. I found a head shot of Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner. They had performed in different performances back in the 60's. I still have those head shots in storage somewhere. The Nimoy one was wild because he had these huge side burns.
I loved seeing the old American Express and Coronet commercials. I wish Adam had played Ricardo Montalban's Maxwell House Coffee ad. I can imagine Shatner shouting...."Khaaaaaaaaaaaaan!"
Or Ricardo Moltalbans car commercial. The Chrysler Cordova, featuring "real Corinthian leather", I remember, even as a little kid going, what the heck is
"Corinthian leather"?
Decades later finding out they just made it up.
@@victormorales3604 Ricardo was on Letterman. They talked about it. Funny stuff.
93?? What a mensch! God bless Bill Shatner.
Priceless ❤
Shatner is such a delight, so positive and engaging. Always a top guest!
GET IT ON its 4 am and I just woke up and I am about to listen to Ace
Shatner looking like he’s about to spin the dopest old school country records (voice echo) “DJ…j…j.. Shatnerrrrr”
Fantastic recall of his hitchhiking experience. Mine was in 1980 at 17 yo.
I share Williams curiosity and sense of wonderment at the world and the incredible engineering. I often think how such an incredibly small subset of humanity is responsible for all engineering and innovation.
Please stay strong and healthy Captain.
Get it on!!!
William Shatner is the Goat!
At 93 he speaks better than Biden did in the ‘90s.
He’s AWESOME
Beam us up Adam! The captain is on deck
Best show on YT.
"Better Late Than Never" is pure gold.
Always reminds me of the joke ‘Better Nate Than Lever’, longest joke ever told and really a dad-joke worthy groanfest but I still recall it to this day.
Shatner rockin a cowboy hat on the Adam carolla show in his 90s. What a legend 🇺🇸 ❤
Taping starts at 8am, If you come early, Adam always has a decent breakfast spread. We do have one request for you. Can you please wear a cowboy hat the entire time? Of course you will then need to wear the headphones on your cheeks like you are Jeff The Drunk. Would you happen to have an arm sling you can wear too? Looking forward to having you! Adam & Crew
Shatner was a role model of cool.
Dolly Parton was lady most of the big boob jokes revolved around in the '70s. Some of those jokes came from Dolly herself. That lady is a national treasure... as is Bill Shatner.
What a kegend. Our world is great because of this addition.
I nearly started balling when Bill said one of his hero’s was Anthony Bourdain. I had the pleasure of meeting Anthony. He was the only celebrity who’s passing was a real shock and gut renching
The best American Express commercials were with Telly Savalas... BABY! don't leave home without it.
Wow! Mr. Shatner could pass as 65, easily. His mind is super sharp, he instantly catches Adam’s odd references.
Love Shatner 🤟
I knew this was going be a big episode . Probably one of the best this year imo.
Bill Shatner is my favorite human being in celebrity with the Ace Man a close second.
Hes something, see his roast, he destroyed them.
Love the vette talk
Hahahahaha...
I was so engaged listening to Shatner that it didn't even dawn on me that contrary to the title description, they never talked about a Vette...
Gleeful ❤️
the billy goats gruff. this guy is like a fine wine getting better with age. a wise Buda¿
Everybody should look it up
Imagine how many cats this man has seen in his lifetime. Cats falling from the sky I bet. A plethora.
Shatner at 93 is lightyears healthier then Eastwoods 93!!
You just never know what we’re going to be given. Some folks are wrecked by 60.
Shatner has exceptional genetics and a good positive attitude throughout his life. Most of us will end up looking like Eastwood at 93 if we even make it that far.

That hat
I love his descriptions of the characters he met while hitchhiking
I saw William Shatner and clicked before I realized it was Adam Corolla.

I didn’t even know that Shat was from Canada.
Nobody's perfect
@@Fantasyremix😂
He’s the biggest Shat to come out of Canada!😁
1:38:14 Oh good. Even a boring old guy and car guy episode, we got a Jimmy Kimmel reference jammed in.
Someone needs to get Bill up to speed on the conservation of energy

CAPTAIN James T. Kirk. 😉
Sloppy seconds! Haha he cut off the opening.. That's my favorite part
Boldly firsties

Old Man :) all in your mind I’m thinking ❤️
❤️ William Shatner ❤️
Adam - Your BEST interview ever.
😎👍👍
Imagine going on a acid trip with William Shatner ?
Mazilli sounds exactly like Mike Baker. 😲
Adam has lived in SoCal his entire life, and still calls Tijuana, "Tia-Juana".
It really bugs my hypervigilance.
As a White dude in his fifties who also grew up in SoCal, I and every other White guy I’ve ever met pronounced it that way.😂I finally learned the correct way in my forties when I heard a woman on the radio mention that it was actually, “Ti wanna.”
The most brutal roast was the roast of Rich Vos where they kept making fun of Jim Florentine girlfriend killing herself and his wife leaving him for a cop
Isn't there a les claypool song about vancleef
What ever happened to Lee Vancleef. Catchy song. The video is awesome.

Adam remain calm say present in the moment do not overreact God is with you
No Diddy I love when maxxapada cracks up laughing. Bukkaki fest
Thank you for this! Great interview w/ Mr. Shatner!
There was a time in Hollywood when you could mix yourself a martini while your wife was floating face down in the pool .No judgment ,just saying it was wild times.
I hitchhiked from Jr high football practice to my home. Sixteen miles. Never a problem. I was hot, too!!! Lolol
Must not have been in California. Seems like most of the serial killers were practicing their skills here in the seventies and eighties.

Somewhere in the universe is a Gorn in a nursing home, wondering how William Shatner kicked his butt.

William Shatner is a National Treasure.
What nation? Do tell us...
Only interesting thing..what for breakfast, brunch and a lil dinner?
Shatner and Adam have great chemistry

Saying converting an old car to electric is environmentally friendly is a ridiculous statement.
James Cawley, the Elvis impersonator! That’s my cousin. We grew up together in Ticonderoga, and Shatner will be there later this year for a tour of the completely rebuilt studio (Desilu) for Trekonderoga! My little hometown in Upstate New York.
