  • Comparing the Boya MY1 Lavalier microphone and the Røde SmartLav 2+ microphone with similtanious audo capture. This side-by-side comparison has no sound alteration and uses the same sound settings for audio capture so you can hear the differece of these 2 capable lavalier microphones for the budget conscious to those with more bucks to spend

    I think I prefer the one with the long wire since it allows you to go farther away from the camera.

      Judith Scott yes the Boya has a richer sound in this test and is more flexible with its application ☺️. Which mic do you use?

      Judith Scott hey I’m using m50 as well if you had experience with rode smartlav and boya m1 could you tell me with wich one you were more happy with? I’m not making videos just ‘sitting videos’ 🙏🏻

      Abdullah Omer I think he mixed it up. boya sounded like his rode go (not lav) and rode lav sounded like boya.. so he mixed up 3 mics, which for some reason happens to many youtube’s also with camera comparisons where they think the image or sound from one is actually from the other one or they just mixed it up in post editing ...yeah confusing as hell. there are reviews of boya that sound much worse so there is the reference

      @@martinkulik9466 using the boya which so far is good enough but I want to upgrade to rode wireless go and not sure if it is gonna make any difference

      The rode wireless go is a better mic IMO and actually works better with the SmartLav

      I thought this too but the BOYA does sound better in this test. Since upgrading to the Rode Wireless go I find the Rode SmartLav (with adapter cable) sounds great when sticking to the rode products

      Boya sounds like you fart in a bucket :) Forget this brand forever. I use Rode (which costs 3 times more), but quality is excellent!

    Thank you so much for the real-life comparison! It's just what I needed to make the decision.
    I review watches and polish them as well, and I am.somehow struggling with my phone's mic. Have a nice day!

    Really interesting. The Boya had too much bass and the Rode had no bass! My guess is, once edited, the Rode would be better, but probably not much in it.

    • @cre8r61
      @cre8r61  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes - great obversation. If you wanted something just out of the camera and use it right away the BOYA is bass dominant for a richer voice. The Røde does edit well and is naturally a brighter microphone. Thanks for reaching out

    Lately I bought both of 'em and hell... Boya is just cr@p! So horrible voice, sounding like you speak in a bucket. After this rubbish I tested SmartLav - it's earth and heaven! Way more good quality.
