  • The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD (2013)
The 7th part of the full playthrough covers the Earth Temple and the recovery of half of the Triforce Shards.
The game is set to Hero Mode for an additional challenge.
Wind Waker was originally released for Nintendo Gamecube in 2002. It was the next home console installation after the smash hits Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask on N64.
Already before the release, it receive a lot of criticism due to the art style being comical and cell-shading unlike the darker setting of the previous games. On release however, the game received widely positive reviews with some people still complaining about the world design. Hyrule is flooded in this game and therefore you have to sail the ocean a lot. Personally, I really enjoyed this as it's a unique twist on Zelda and has a lot of exploration to do with small islands holding puzzles everywhere.
This HD remaster has a lots of quality of life changes to the original. For the bigger ones being based on the criticism of the past, there is a faster sail that changes wind to your direction automatically, the picto box stores more images and Triforce pieces are easier to find. There's tons of smaller changes as being able to change direction while swinging with the grappling hook (instead of stopping first), the conducting starting only when press a directional key and not getting thrown out of the boat when taking damage at sea. All in all Nintendo has provided a much improved version of the game that plays beautifully and very smooth making this game an absolut classic.
