Thank you, Gabe! I'm a sucker for a good wedge review and this was a good one! They're in my lofts, too! I've always thought us mere mortals don't need lofted wedges over 58° unless you put in the required practice each week.
Got the 52* .90 and the 1.05 58* with my ts3s. Youre on point as usual. I think the original Maltby wedge, the TSW are a bit softer and traditional, but these are more forgiving and spin better due to the closer milled grooves. I added 6 grams (3 swing weights) to each head by changing weights to get them to play d6. Love getting my thoughts confirmed. Another great vid ty stu and Play through
One of the best things about these wedges is the ability to order just the heads. It's not hard to change a golf head and you can have very economical fresh grooves for those that play more often.
Gabe as always, thanks for the awesome review! I had a feeling that you might get along well with these wedges. I've mentioned it before, but just like the infamous Jules and Vincent from my favorite movie, these guys are my gangsters! They do my dirty work, they keep me safe, and they simply just get $hit done!
Not only does Maltby have wedge paks as several others have said you can select the custom shop option and get many more combos and most for less than $100 all built to spec. I just ordered a TS3 test 5 iron through the custom shop. Now to be sure it cost more per club than ordering a pak but I wanted a different shaft and it was still just $92 a club which is far better than the $200 to $220 a club from other major OEM manufacturers. And, yep, the TS3 is every bit as good as you said it was. Better feel and more distance than the loft difference alone would suggest over my old TE Forged for sure. I've played Maltby clubs off and on for two decades and never been disappointed. I've built my own clubs for a long time as a fun hobby and still tinker but when I can have Maltby do it for free and get the setup I want without the major OEM expense that's a deal in my book.
Love that the screws can manipulate the weighting on these wedges. I've put a 1 gr lead tape strip in aproximately the same position of my wedges, as I tend to shut the face a little too much. I then don't use tape on P to 7, and a 1gr lead strip on my 6 to 4 Irons near the heel, as I tend to push those a little. It'll probably have to do with ball position but this helps me a lot coming straighter through the ball throughout the bag.
I have a max milled in 56 and a tsw in 52. I like the extra grooves and heft to keep me more stable on the short shots, but prefer something a little smaller on fuller shots. Both are fantastic and both put sone great spin on the ball. I also have the ts1 im set as well, and 3,4,5 maltby hybrids. Alll great clubs, and if u live near Columbus like I do, you can go to golf works and swing any one of them and also sign up for a custom fitting. Best money ive ever spent.
I’d love to play these clubs. Such a great value but only have one lefty option in the irons and wedges and it’s not the type I would use. If the lefty selection gets better I will definitely look to get my next set from Maltby. Great video!
I have a 52 and 56 TSW in the DRM finish. Great performer, excellent price, zero compromise. Maltby is by far the best bang for your buck, especially the new line of irons and wedges
@@LetsPlayThruso the TSW wedges are their true "player's" profile wedges. I played them a little while back and they're really nice. DRM (diamondized raw metal) is similar to their DBM (black) that you experienced with the TE+ set. It's more of a pewter color but it's a "raw" finish that can oxidize over time without actually allowing for the metal to corrode and break down. I switched to the Max because I also like the full face grooves and they're just so easy to play. FYI in 2025 they have a whole new wedge line coming. This line up is much more extensive with more sole grinds and specialty options AND some lefty options too.
I also play the tsw wedges. I'm not the most experienced wedge player so the leading edge does give me some grief on wet tight lies but overall they play well. 50 degree is very good with 75-90 percent shots. I've thought about switching to max milled but will wait to see what the new wedges are like.
I'm an 8hc. And even for me the TSW wedges just dug on me way to hard. I'm also pretty steep so, they just weren't for me. The Max Milled on the other hand are hands down perfect!
I'm a bit of a toe striker myself. Not that I can't hit the sweet spot, but that I prefer to stay well clear of the hosel, just in case. Clubs with the sweet spot about 1/2" out from the center would work better for me.
Maltby does have club pak wedges "Fully Assembled clubs" but the wedges are limited. The wedge you are playing must be am older special release? Maltby deserves more love for sure. I have their hybrids and they perform VERY well. . Thanks for the review!!!. I have a 54 degree Maltby wedge and love it.
Hello Gabe. Even though golf season is over for the upper Midwest, I’m going to pull the trigger on the TS3s - based on your reviews. Will be interesting to see how they compare to my gamers, Wilson DP forged.
Hey Gabe they do paks on the second page of the paks for wedges. You’ll find all their wedges on that second page iirc. I have a 60 degree max milled pak and it’s the best damn wedge I’ve had.
@@LetsPlayThru so the Paks are for individual clubs. You can have a single wedge built for $57 with the same shafts that are in the wedges you tested and the giveaway set. So basically for a little more than 1 vokey you can get a complete set built. Oh, and the Paks for this wedge are on the 2nd page of the Pak listings. Thanks again Gabe!
I’ve been gaming a set of the max milled 50,54,58 for about 4 months and I don’t see myself playing a different wedge anytime soon! These are incredible
Thanks for sharing! I'm a long-time subscriber and really enjoy your content. I bought some Legato golf balls on the black Friday sale. Was able to play a round with them today and was really impressed. They truly play like a premium ball. I played the same 2 balls all day and they held up great. I didn't notice any scuffs and I know I hit at least one tree! 😊
Been playing Golfsmith (remember them?) and Maltby for many years now, I wondered when golf component sources would begin to get their due. There are others but Maltby definitely one of the best. And - at prices then cannot be beat.
Prior to these, I had 2 TW grind wedges. Those were really great but these spin way more, feel better, and are pretty much like cheating if you have a decent wedge game. They're just so easy to play.. I'd even dare say fun 😜
Vokeys are great no doubt.. but these are something special. These wedges easily outperform my Cleveland RTX 4's, Vokey SM9's, and TM MG4 TW wedges.. and cost 1/3 of any of them.
Always struggle with less than full shots with wedges. I'm interested in new wedges, maybe I need to give these a try. Not sure if I can get them in Canada?
Recently got a set of takomos and am using my gap wedge from my previous set of callaway xrs. I have been looking at wedges I have 2 sm9 I bought 3 years ago and am not sure if I want to have that in a 50 degree or want to go with something more forgiving these look nice
Man I just got the Kirkland signature 2 wedge set because of the price and value mabe I should of got maltby they look alot cooler I live in Canada so I can't use my Kirkland wedges until May
What other Tampa area courses do you enjoy to play? I’ve been playing Waterlefe and Esplanade (public course) and recently took a day to visit Cabot. Any recommendations to some must visit courses in the area?
I’m very never won anything in my life. I’ve earned everything with the grace of God. I would love to win these wedges as I am looking for a new set and want a full face wedge which I have never had. I ended this season with a 7 handicap at 56 years old.
I posted a main comment, but these wedges are my gangsters. They do my dirty work, they keep me safe, and they just get $hit done! And PF is also my favorite movie. So I thought the theme was fitting 😁
I'm giving away a set of these wedges to a lucky subscriber. Enter here: forms.gle/GUfyMrs83yQxPXXJ7

Yes and at $49.99 it's pretty much stealing
Metal wedge shafts can be used over and over with no issue. And they take taper tip or .370

Thanks for loaning them out for review!

I am really happy you and many other reviewers are talking about DTC brands. They are filling a much needed product/price gap.
I have a 52 and 56 TSW in the DRM finish. Great performer, excellent price, zero compromise. Maltby is by far the best bang for your buck, especially the new line of irons and wedges
Is a DRM finish like a PVD?
@@LetsPlayThruso the TSW wedges are their true "player's" profile wedges. I played them a little while back and they're really nice. Many modern drivers seem to favor toe strikes. I’ve noticed I can squeak out a few more yards if the strike is just right of center.
@LetsPlayThru
I think you're right. I tend to hit woods towards the heel and irons towards the toe.
You can adjust the sweetspot location by adjusting weights. Or adding some weight on these will greatly help keep it straight on toe shots.
@ughhstuff
Yep. I have a set of Maltby TE's that I'm going to play with lead tape towards the toe.

Wedge paks are available on the website. I have this wedge in a 60degree.

Would love to know your thoughts when you get them.
Just put those Max Milled in my bag a few weeks ago. Other than my driver and putter, it's all Maltby now 🤷♂️
Maltby are just insane value, and lpt's video reviews make me hit the golf works web page practically every time.
Hey Gabe they do paks on the second page of the paks for wedges. You’ll find all their wedges on that second page iirc. I have a 60 degree max milled pak and it’s the best damn wedge I’ve had.
Nice! I knew I was missing it.
They have wedge packs also
Oh nice. I knew I was missing something there. Assume the packs are 3 wedges?
@LetsPlayThru no, individual wedges.

I got the Maltby TS1-IM a few weeks ago. Love them.
I’m looking at getting a hybrid now
Been playing Golfsmith (remember them?) and Maltby for many years now, I wondered when golf component sources would begin to get their due. There are others but Maltby definitely one of the best. And - at prices then cannot be beat.
I have these same wedges. They are really good. I would have liked to see some more bounce options in their wedges.
I've been using my Vokey SM6 clubs for years. I would love to put these wedges in the bag! :)
Awesome content. These would replace my old Lazarus wedge set perfectly…
Gabe…you come across as a genuine guy!!
They do sale the packs. I have a 52, 56, and 60. Love them!
Max 52 and 56 to go with my TS3 set
Ive got a vokey and the tw grind lob wedge, it looks like those would compete easily to get in the bag!
Prior to these, I had 2 TW grind wedges. Those were really great but these spin way more, feel better, and are pretty much like cheating if you have a decent wedge game. They're just so easy to play.. I'd even dare say fun 😜
I’m very stuck between which width to go with in a 50, 54, 58 combo set
Thanks to you I bought a 58 degree and really like it so will replace others when needed.
I just replaced my Vokey SM7 Wedges 48 56 and 60 with Vokey SM10 Wedges 50 56 and 60. I don't care what anyone says they are the best.
Vokeys are great no doubt.. but these are something special. These wedges easily outperform my Cleveland RTX 4's, Vokey SM9's, and TM MG4 TW wedges.. and cost 1/3 of any of them.
Maltby? Had a Maltby putter back in the day. Truly one of tge best putters of my life
Always struggle with less than full shots with wedges. I'm interested in new wedges, maybe I need to give these a try. Not sure if I can get them in Canada?
They have a golfworks Canada website, but sometimes they are out of stock.
Wow these look really interesting. Almost remind me of the Taylormade MG1

Takomo made some forged wedges that were nice too, but I don't think they sell them currently. These are great for sure.
They do have the wedge packs
Max 1.05 54 and 60 degree here along with my TS3 Irons.
PS: Damn you Gabe!
And damn you too, Stu!
@@nomadvehr827 I'm sorry? 😁
I have maltby iron,s maltby wedges sounds great 👍🏿
Nice vlog with interesting wedges. Think mine are 8 years old
Have a Maltby chipper…people always curious to try out when they see it…super club for me
Man I just got the Kirkland signature 2 wedge set because of the price and value mabe I should of got maltby they look alot cooler I live in Canada so I can't use my Kirkland wedges until May
That’s a great set as well.
I've been using the 54 for about a year. Best wedge I've ever owned.
Do they make single length?
They do not
how would you compare them to the Bermuda wedges you reviewed days ago?
I didn’t review those, must’ve been another channel
I've been holding out for a review before pulling the trigger on these, can't wait to watch!

Well, TPC Tampa is worth playing. Certainly Copperhead if you can find a way to get on. Westchase has a nice layout, but greens have been poor lately.
been looking at these wedges. be great to win a set! thanks!
You are making me want these wedges even more!
Once again your timing is perfect on my need! Thanks Gabe! If I win great, but if not I’m buying!!
They will shaft and grip them.
rwc royale with cheese
There are two Vokey killers that I know of: my right hand and my left hand...
I've gone from a 10.5 to a 6 in 6 months with my Maltby gear

I’m due for new wedges hmmm?

They look great! Wish you were giving away the custom ones though lol. Love Pulp Fiction. ❤️⛳️🏌️
I posted a main comment, but these wedges are my gangsters. They do my dirty work, they keep me safe, and they just get $hit done!
And PF is also my favorite movie.
So I thought the theme was fitting 😁
