They escape from a Philly jail. They make it out and have a head start. A 19 hour head start. And they make it all the way to.....Philly??? Really? You ain't gotta leave the country. But the state? You could leave Pennsylvania. But damn. To not even leave the city?? To add more charges and not even be smart enough to get out the city??

Gun violence in not just a Philly thing.. it’s nationwide.After the pandemic, gun violence rose in just about every major city. And as in all cities plagued by gun violence, it’s not the entire city. Unfortunately, it tends to be concentrated in the poorest or struggling working class areas.
Philly been a war zone since the late 60’s what you talking about. And the 3 years leading up to the pandemic they averaged 341 murders. 315,353&356

Gun violence in Philadelphia like most major American cities escalated after the pandemic. In fact, in 2013 Philadelphia had the lowest rate of gun violence since 1967. As in all major American cities, gun violence reached its peaks in the late 1980s thru the mid 1990s.. and began a decline ( although it’s still much too high). Philadelphia’s rate of gun violence is 20 % lower than 2022.. so far. So once again, gun violence is probably declining nationwide.
Philadelphia has rates of gun violence below cities such as Baltimore St Louis,Memphis, Chicago,Miami.. although it’s high. In Forbes list of the most dangerous cities in 2022.. Philadelphia ranked 14.
Furthermore, as in all cities, it is not the entire city. only the poorest and struggling working class areas of any city. The poorer that you are, the more likely you will be in an area effected by gun violence… unfortunate.. but true without exception IN All cities in the USA

Humans aren't meant to be locked up like animals. I'm speaking from experience and can say that if you don't have a support system while you in and once your out, the chances of going back are high. Thankfully I had that and changed my life got back on track. I met others inside though that didn't have that, which just leaves you lonely. That leads to anger and discontent. Anger and frustration with being locked up, mistreatment by CO, lack of constructive ways to release frustration or get your mind right. Being short staffed is inexcusable and not offering basic things for these men just breeds more rage. If you ever been in you have seen that cycle and you see guys come back. I was in less then a year at 19 and saw a guy who was 21 come in and out 3 times on separate charges. We need better programs to prepare guys for release, would be great if business would step up and be willing to offer some sort of work even if the company gets a tax break or something. Anything to give hope other wise they end up back in the street selling or robbing to simply make ends meet.

The guard was sleeping because they severely short staffed and overworked I know the feeling but man a hole in the fence for weeks I heard is extra dangerous they been planning their escape for months who knows if they got anything smuggled in the jail through that hole Anything?? Philly needs Major help I'll pray for you guys
I watched youngn grow up he used to play ball at the parks in southwest. His pops was one of guys the streets didnt play with. Wawa was locked up most of most of Meen life then his mom had to do a bid. Wawa come home and diabetes started getting the best of him. He lost his leg and then his vision and a year later Wawa passed away. I think thats when Meen got reckless when his pops passed.

This is so sad and extremely disheartening. The staff is overworked and overpaid which leads to staff shortages and placing workers and prisoners lives in jeopardy. This is wild and something truly needs to be done.

So i took it! Now i had me a new Glock. Good right? No! Let's just say that the time that gun was around, nothing but trouble lingered near and everywhere! Every situation you needed to present a gun was tested. The minute I got rid of it,was when peace set in! Been with my son every since.

I had to take my 18 yr old son cell phone and shut all his social media down ,, I went threw his shit and he's sitting in somebody house with 2 pounds of gas on his lap ,, a 9MM in one hand with a blue beam,, and the other hand a AR 15 no cap ,, there's no guns in my home so I did believe his story when he said the guns are not his bc I know there's no guns in my house ,, and he don't even smoke weed so I,know the weed not his so to me though even thou drugs and guns are not his but you still Guilty By Association so you lose what you need most and what your on most the phone

I love it how the DA wants to blame the guards for not doing counts while they don't address staffing problems, mandatory overtime, or pay.
I spent 19 months on state rd before going upstate and during those 19 months I spent about 6-7 months in PICC and im not surprised they were able to escape their cells and jail because the COs are ALWAYS leaving the block for like 30-45mins doing whatever they do.

The lack of security at the correctional institution is horrible and reflective of the lack of accountability and credibility of the institutional management. The Prisons Commissioner should resign or be replaced by the mayor but he’s had the heads of every major public safety agency except the PFD as a black female and I sense reluctance on his part. And the new mayor who is also a black female is questionable on her feelings on the Prisons head.

I'm from Philly I did a lot of time in this jail cfcf and Picc for things I did not even do altogether 6 years it's hell I been through some bad stuff in here and had to turn into a animal just to keep your stuff use the phone keep your respect things that I'm not happy about I'm a family man and do everything in my power to keep my kids out of here if you never been trust me it's bad and no one cares what they don't tell you is a lot of the CO's bring in knifes drugs phones money talk I even had a relationship with a Aramark worker that worked in the kitchen I've hurt people and been hurt alot of stuff I'll never talk about but this what come with it but take it from me it's alot of men in there for nothing like I said I did nothing to be there my Baby mother at the time her nephew is and was selling drugs I worked every day they rated my house found guns drugs money I beat the charges eventually after I added more charges in jail just to survive it changed me as a person I was in and out for 5 years after that and I don't have a record at all in Philadelphia you will go to jail for what ever and stay tell you go to court this is how they make there money it don't matter if you did it or not they went you to go and take you back and forth to court they throw a lot of cases out everyday but they lock alot of people up also they don't care they know what there doing getting money from please locking us up I'll never go to jail again for nothing we having court right there if you know you know .......
