    This is a good video, plugs are super cheap and while I agree they dont need replacement much if properly maintained, they can get fouled, and for $5.00 its a no brainer. Ditto for the air filter.

    Thanks. Fast and furious ! Appreciate. As well should be great to disclose about more deeper parts maintenance like a carburetor cleaning procedure if such operation is permitted in general.

    When should one change the spark plug? Only when it stops working?

    Best sparkplugs for any small engine are NGK. Don't waste your money on that kit. Get the air and fuel filter for a back up and replace them as needed, but get a NGK plug.

    Do you think a small Stihl like the MS 170 could cut thru yr arm hairs without completely clogging up?
    Helpful vid BTW.

    Can't you just clean the old plug?

    Fun to watch but reminds me of a guy at Jiffy Lube (US quick change auto oil shop) showing an almost new air cleaner to a female customer (not that men know more). Look here, this is dirt and we can replace it for another $50. The filter probably had 80% of life left.

    you must have a GREAT set of eyes if you can determine the gap on that plug was at .030" without using a gauge. lol

    this is stihl BS on 1000%… your fuel filter of maintained would never need replacement.. if it’s thst old you could sell your old saw and pay fractions to buy a new one… it takes a LONGGGG time for that fuel filter to become clogged if maintaining with 93 non ethanol (from stihl techs themselves) the sparkplug is even a more comical bit… when maintained properly spark plug lasted me 10yrs on ms170 and still fires no problem with regular use… one minor flooding issue the other day… this video is made for stihl to capitalize on the people who don’t know better which i would say is predatory

    • @trentonpowers8570
      @trentonpowers8570 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      also wants to talk about cleaning on a brand new saw for instruction purposes which is not the way to show regular use or what most people come into contact with… this is bs

      "..this video is made for stihl to capitalize on the people who don’t know better which i would say is predatory."
      I don't think it is. There is nothing to indicate that. The video is a guide for those who want to use Stihl's service kit.
      Whether the service kit is needed is another question.

      @@kenlund9671he made only valid points. Why have a kit you would never need. Same with my air filter I just clean it regularly, no need to replace it if you clean it regularly and look after it would likely never need replacing. I’ve cut over 60 metres of firewood with it this year and all these components are still running fine the only issue I have is oiling the bar properly and consistently.

      Really, predatory seems like a reach. So plugs and filters are a grad conspiracy eh? Haha.
