Hopefully Shujinko's inclusion goes beyond the fact that Deception sort of takes place around the same time as MK1, and it means we will be getting a konquest mode! (I would even settle for chess, I played so much MK chess that I would probably be a grand Master if I cared enough)
I think Raiden is Chinese (although his name is of a Japanese origin), Baraka is an Edenian, and Shang Tsung is from Outworld (unlike his previous timeline counterparts who was Chinese).
Outworld and Edenia are 2 separate places, Edenia was annex into outworld by Shao Kahn, this may be re-visionist history or they are doing the God of Destruction made Freize destroy Planet Vegeta thing here.@@hazy4366

In the new timeline its like this Baraka - Edenian Shang Tsung - Outworlder Raiden - Chinese Havik - Seido (Orderealm to become Chaosrealm) Plus it looks like so far that Edenia doesnt exist anymore, but its merged by Liu Kang with Outworld to stop the Outworld-Edenian war. Thats why Outworld looks so different and lush and Sindel and Jerrod are ruling. That makes Edenians native Outworld race not nationality.
In game they do refer to it as it’s own distinct ethnicity, like centaurian or shokon. I think there are other human groups, like the ones shao Reiko and li mei are from, which aren’t edenian but from outworld.
Prob not merged but the ruler and capital realm has changed. Before the ruling realm was Outworld, ruled by Shao Kahn, who eventually conquered Edenia. Now its the reverse, Outworld was prob not conquered but it was always a vassal realm of Edenia as designed by Liu Kang.

Sun Do (where Sindel rules from) is definitely apart of Outworld as it's mentioned in Deadly Alliance (and shown in the Konquest mode of Deception) in Li Mei's bio as her home village. In the old timeline she was an Outworlder and Edenia had long since been separated from Outworld during both Deadly Alliance and Deception so if it was a part of Edenia it wouldn't of been in Outworld.
Frost is not from China. She doesn't look Asian. She's Caucasian and she is an American of Cryomancer descent. She and Sub-Zero are not necessarily of that race, they are just their descendants after so many years.
China also have caucasian looks alike races, such as Uighur, Kazakh, Kyrgiz, Russian, Xiongnu, etc. They're non-Han minority ethnic. I guess Frost was came from non-Han Chinese ethnic background.

Some of the nationalities that these characters have in the video are taking into account their old timeline selves & not what they are in the current timeline. There were quite a bit of errors, especially considering the title of the video says Mortal Kombat 1 Nationalities.

Liu Kang changed the origins for some characters in his timeline: Baraka is an edenian or he was before tarkat took everything from me. Shang and Quan are from Outworld, they had meaningless lives until titan Shang made them sorcerers. Havik is from Seido and his real name is Dairou. The only thing that is unchanged is Frost's origins. She is an American.
Shang Tsung and Quan Chi are from Outworld but they've always been of the Chinese origin. I mean look at their names. It's in their names, c'mon. Frost is Chinese, but half white i think. Her real name is Xiuying.
1. Sun Do is not like... a different country in outworld, so I don't think pointing that out was nessesary. As well as Edenia since it is a part of outworld empire 2. Barraka is Edenian 3. Fun fact about Kano's nationality: In the original game he was supposed to be Asian (I think Chinese, specifically, or maybe Japanese). It wasn't until the first movie when the actor gave him an Australian accent (that apparently was actually supposed to be British) that it became so associated with the character that he was canonically retconned to be Australian. Think about it, "Kano" isn't exactly and Aussie name, though I guess it's assumed to be an alias.
I mean with Raiden I think it’s China since that’s where he is with kung Lao and they talk about getting off the farm for once in their lives so I think it’s safe to say he was born their.

In older games Baraka is from Outworld. In MK1 he clearly stated in his dialogue that he is Edenian. Shang Tsung has always been from outworld unless I missed something down the line!
Corrections: This timeline has a new Geras created by Liu Kang. Not from Kronika’s Keep. Shang Tsung is a native Outworlder, not Chinese. Although we don’t know Frost’s nationality in this timeline, in the previous timeline she was American. Baraka states he was Edenian in this timeline before being infected with Tarkat. Havik comes from Orderrealm in this timeline instead of Chaosrealm like in previous timelines. (not a change that I like but whatever) It is never explicitly stated that Li Mei was born in Sun Do. Also it’s a city, not a nationality. Raiden is Chinese in this timeline.
I know it will never happen, and maybe this isn't a popular idea, but I'm itching for the next MK game to be an open world adventure game. Kinda like Skyrim but in the MK universe. I would love to explore a lot of these realms.

Syzoth's species is Zaterran but he's from Zikandur Province (so just plain old Outworld) 5. Cyrax is Tswana? Botswana is usually overlooked when people talk about Africa. Usually people use South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, or Egypt, so this is a welcome change.
@@Cano-62Kameo Sub-Zero is Kuai Liang. Both the Kameo Ninjas have their attires based on their appearances in MKII. Bi-Han died and Kuai took the mantle to honor his elder brother. His notable scar was not yet present.

If Capcom is ready to collab with Neatherrealm Studio, it won’t a surprise but a nice note if they include the nationalities like with their Street Fighter games.

Well except for a few mistakes due to this timeline being different from the previous ones, it's actually accurate... - Shang Tsung originally came from China, Earthrealm, but in this current timeline, Shang Tsung is native from Outworld, instead of moving from Earthrealm to Outworld. - Almost the same for Quan Chi : he is native from Outworld instead of being from the Netherrealm (If I am correct, Quan Chi was originally an Oni like Moloch and Drahmin, but learnt dark magic that made him change his demon's appearance to a human form) - Baraka is actually a former Edenian in this current timeline, unlike his previous self who was indeed from Outworld. - Havik/Dairou is from Seido/Orderrealm instead of his original self from Chaosrealm, which ironically is his current's self goal : to turn Seido into Chaosrealm.

Fun fact about Kano's nationality: In the original game he was supposed to be Asian (I think Chinese, specifically, or maybe Japanese). It wasn't until the first movie when the actor gave him an Australian accent (that apparently was actually supposed to be British) that it became so associated with the character that he was canonically retconned to be Australian. Think about it, "Kano" isn't exactly and Aussie name, though I guess it's assumed to be an alias.

Well except for a few mistakes due to this timeline being different from the previous ones, it's actually accurate...
- Shang Tsung originally came from China, Earthrealm, but in this current timeline, Shang Tsung is native from Outworld, instead of moving from Earthrealm to Outworld.
- Almost the same for Quan Chi : he is native from Outworld instead of being from the Netherrealm (If I am correct, Quan Chi was originally an Oni like Moloch and Drahmin, but learnt dark magic that made him change his demon's appearance to a human form)
- Baraka is actually a former Edenian in this current timeline, unlike his previous self who was indeed from Outworld.
- Havik/Dairou is from Seido/Orderrealm instead of his original self from Chaosrealm, which ironically is his current's self goal : to turn Seido into Chaosrealm.
Shang tsung is originally from earth realm in the original timeline
