Anthony, you've gone to far by talking smack of my favorite video game plastic Guitar Hero. On a serious note, Guitar Hero is nowhere near actual guitar. The game is at a point where the best players use techniques that are totally different from any real instrument. Casual players, on the other hand, can pick up guitar hero quite easily and immediatelly play (in the game) stuff like Dream Theater which would require a very long journey of guitar lessons to accomplish on a real instrument. The amount of time needed to get that good is not exactly at everyone's hands. Not to mention the gear which is expensive as fuck. Everyone likes to shit on Guitar Hero, but the truth is a lot of people got in touch with classic rock, metal and a lot of new comers because of the game. Myself included. And after playing it for years for fun I grew up to have enough money to buy an actual guitar and start learning the real thing. The game is still fun! I played it yesterday, stuff like Trivium which I wouldn't be able to play on my standard tuned Squier. Expect consequences for your disrespect.

One of my friends is a professional guitarist who tours with a lot of country artists. He started off in middle school as a guitar hero fiend.
