Jin has stated before that he begins learning the choreography before everyone else so he doesn't hold the others back. That is a true professional! Since ON came after this, plus Dionysus and Run BTS, they don't necessarily say this is the hardest one ever, but it has to be in the top 5.
As someone who’s learned full choreographies of about 15 of their songs, I can say IDOL is the top 2 hardest. ON is currently #1 for me. IDOL will exhaust your breath to the point that by the end of the routine, you’re just dead. There are BTS zumba videos on youtube if you want to workout to their songs 😊
I think by hardest they meant that it's hard to catch their breath during this performance cause almost all of them are heavy and jumpy when they perform live and also since they also have to sing.... but I personally think they have many difficult choreos which are a piece of cake for them. But of course they are hard working ...

I don't know how many of you have noticed this, Jimin never forgets to check on Taehyung while doing the 360° high kick to make sure he won't kick Taehyung. He did it everytime while performing Idol. This just shows how BTS always gave importance to safety while performing.
tbh, my eyes are always drawn to Tae because he is so expressive in his face and mannerisms that I don't want to miss out on any of it. He also makes it look so smooth and easy regardless of how complicated or strenuous the moves are. On subsequent watches I tend to focus on a point behind or above them so I take in the group as a whole in my full line of sight. That or you would need to watch each video 7 times to see what everyone was doing in each song or practice.
Hobi and Jimin are unmatched exactly like Jungkook's energy and V's expressions are unmatched while dancing. And Suga, RM and Jin match them to perfection.

He does more transitions that any of them because he moves so smooth and covers ground quickly. Also, all those big arm movements, KILL! Practice rooms rarely have much, if any AC on. They will use fans to keep air moving. Have to keep muscles warm without draft to prevent injury.

I just started the BTS book Beyond the Story book. It’s so interesting to read just how their training period started. It fills in some of the blanks that the Rise of Bangtan just touched on.
At a concert in Bangkok their stage almost broke through while they were performing Idol and they had to have staffs holding up the stage it was crazy (and scary)
idol always shakes the stage lol their staff have had to physically hold it underneath before but that was an uncommon incident since the stage was unstable to begin with… still, choreo goes hard😮💨🤌 thank u for the reaction! 💜

The song doesn't only have Korean culture in it but African culture as well ... The whistle in the instrumental gives very much African vibes. It's used in almost all African songs, Plus the suits they are wearing has prints that many African traditional clothes have... and I do believe they got an African designer to make the suits. Not the mention the dance moves...the gwara gwara, which is dance move originated from South africa.
I hope you'll do an explained video next time for songs that have it, instead of the dance practice. It provides more information that relates to their culture and can highlight the genius of their songwriting and MV production. 💜🙂 I hope your admins can also share it with you. Perhaps when you decide to do Baepsae or Ddaeng. 🙂

Fun fact about the choreo, when j-hope mentions “superhero” on his part, each member is a different superheroe. In order of choreo from left to right is : Jin -hulk, suga-black panther, Jimin -Spider-Man, V-iron man, rm - Captain America, jk- Thor. And then j-hope mentions napan an while getting into the anpanman pose.
It is cool to watch the members not in the dance line to see how theyve improved. I always feel proud, lol. Joon gets lighter on his feet over the years and i know he had to have less pain once he started doing pilates because his overall posture improved so much whoch helps with dance. And he's also better at the more lyricsl and modern dance moves then before. Jin was never bad but I think he was the most insecure when it came to the hiphop moves which they do a lot. Not anymore. Suga I think just has less energy so he paces himself well. Honestly, the choreo has gotten harder over the years mostly because they've gotten older. Choreographer's include things that are trending, fit the song and energy, which means something outside everyone's comfort zone. So in that sense its harder. But they started adjusting bside choreo to be less impactful and having it so every member doesnt have to be on stage dancing the entire song. Which is smart in my opinion. But there's also little surprises, like the dance move during the chorus is a popular west african move and Jin does it so well. On the dvd they talked about how quickly he picked up that move and did it so easily shocking even himself. You never know what your body is going to have an affinity for. All three of them have gotten so much better at body waves over the years. Like i said it makes me feel proud for some reason.
You HAVE to watch the teaser for Idol....OH....MY....GOD ...EPIIIIIIC. Also, I watch dance pracs 9 times..first time overall watch, then once each member then a final overall...lol
This brings back so many memories from when they were on good morning America. The crowd went wild for them. And the little kids that got to meet them and hug them. Everyone on Twitter was jealous of the little girl that was hugging Jimin 🥹
They really are very fit. This reminds me of Jin's promotion into the Special Force in the military and sm1 showed the criteria to enter. I could honestly feel myself losing all body functions after seeing it; it was too insane.
I think they wear heavier clothing cuz they’re training their body to sweat in layers. When they perform on stage, it doesn’t matter what the temp is, they’re in layers of clothes and if you’re not used to dancing like that, it’s probably even more difficult. Also, I’m sure it’s style choice, since it’s the recorded version of their dance practice.
21:26 Fun fact: did ya'll know BTS was called Monster Rookies during their early years, not just because of their achievements, but because of their early choreographies? You will be speechless after watching all 7 of them dance so in sync and sharp, LITERALLY like robots. So I literally had to look for Jin, RM, and Suga because I couldnt believe that they were literally trained but you wouldnt even think of it that way. One of their best dance practices during their early years were Boys in Luv, Danger and then the later years, one of my favorites, RUN dance practice, their Japanese tracks.. but I'm sure ARMYs will give you more examples. No, they were called the eternal rookies , cuz everytime they comeback, they came back as a different group( completely different songs and with the energy of a rookie). Monster rookies have another meaning which means having already award of music show right after debuting , etc BTS didn’t have that.
Fun fact: There actually are some videos of workout inspired by their songs or choreo(mostly simplified or similar moves). You can find it on YT with keywords like "BTS Songs choreo workout" etc.
When you hear them say that this is a hard choreography for them I remember their Danger MV in 2014 which they also said that it was a difficult choreo for them too that they had to learn in 1 week. At this point in their career they've done so many difficult choreographies and I wonder what else could they not have done bec aside from Idol they also did Dionysus, On KM and Run BTS which were super intense choreographies too. You can focus on only one especially who is in the middle at the same you can kinda watch all of them. Actually there is one restaurant in Korea that is BTS themed, it is near the BTS' dorm that they frequent when they were trainees. It's full of BTS posters and there'also a BTS menu. It has become one of the popular tourist spots in South Korea. The lady who is the owner of that restaurant said back then that they are different from other kids and that she was sure that they will be successful in the future.

At 16:49 is The Kick. Which is amazing! But during a Live Performance Jimin always kicks even higher! Then it seems the next Performance his kick is even higher again! And so on and so on. His high kick is very Impressive. This dance practice. Again very impressive because he has those huge boots on. I must say I don't understand why they let them wear boots or slip on shoes or anything besides dance shoes. We were never allowed to wear anything dance inappropriate. You can easily twist your ankle in boots. Even though it doesn't seem like it. Or sprain your knee. And we were never allowed to wear hats or hoodies or coats or sweaters because you could overheat and pass out so easily. I'm almost sure in Jimin's high school dance classes the choreographer would not allow that. So it has always surprised me some of their clothing and shoe choices for their dance practices.
I think their clothes at practice is to prepare them for stage outfits that they have to dance in. Many of the costumes incredibly hot and inappropriate footwear

Did you see the interview that Suga did with Jin? Jin was saying he found out on vacation that he could hold his breath twice as long as his friends. Then Suga said remember when we would run in place before a performance to get their lungs ready for a performance. And they used to wear face masks to dance and sing in to strengthen their voice muscles. I had never heard of that method. But I guess athletes do that too. So thanks for your thoughts.

Workout class... Hehehe! That "Idol" choreo is really a full workout already. I don't think I can survive the workout by doing BTS choreo. I do have a BTS Hype playlist though , that I use whenever I exercise/workout/do chores. It really pumps me up. The song "Idol" is included. 😄

The whistle in the instrumental gives very much African vibes. It's used in almost all African songs,
Plus the suits they are wearing has prints that many African traditional clothes have... and I do believe they got an African designer to make the suits.
Not the mention the dance moves...the gwara gwara, which is dance move originated from South africa.
I hope you'll do an explained video next time for songs that have it, instead of the dance practice. It provides more information that relates to their culture and can highlight the genius of their songwriting and MV production. 💜🙂 I hope your admins can also share it with you. Perhaps when you decide to do Baepsae or Ddaeng. 🙂

Fun fact about the choreo, when j-hope mentions “superhero” on his part, each member is a different superheroe. In order of choreo from left to right is : Jin -hulk, suga-black panther, Jimin -Spider-Man, V-iron man, rm - Captain America, jk- Thor. And then j-hope mentions napan an while getting into the anpanman pose.
Jimin joined 6 months before debut. Of course he was a dancer but even so, he had so little time to prepare.

It is cool to watch the members not in the dance line to see how theyve improved. I always feel proud, lol. Joon gets lighter on his feet over the years and i know he had to have less pain once he started doing pilates because his overall posture improved so much whoch helps with dance. And he's also better at the more lyricsl and modern dance moves then before. Jin was never bad but I think he was the most insecure when it came to the hiphop moves which they do a lot. Not anymore. Suga I think just has less energy so he paces himself well.
Honestly, the choreo has gotten harder over the years mostly because they've gotten older. Choreographer's include things that are trending, fit the song and energy, which means something outside everyone's comfort zone. So in that sense its harder. But they started adjusting bside choreo to be less impactful and having it so every member doesnt have to be on stage dancing the entire song. Which is smart in my opinion.
But there's also little surprises, like the dance move during the chorus is a popular west african move and Jin does it so well. On the dvd they talked about how quickly he picked up that move and did it so easily shocking even himself. You never know what your body is going to have an affinity for. All three of them have gotten so much better at body waves over the years. Like i said it makes me feel proud for some reason.

I think they wear heavier clothing cuz they’re training their body to sweat in layers. When they perform on stage, it doesn’t matter what the temp is, they’re in layers of clothes and if you’re not used to dancing like that, it’s probably even more difficult. Also, I’m sure it’s style choice, since it’s the recorded version of their dance practice.
21:26 Fun fact: did ya'll know BTS was called Monster Rookies during their early years, not just because of their achievements, but because of their early choreographies? You will be speechless after watching all 7 of them dance so in sync and sharp, LITERALLY like robots. So I literally had to look for Jin, RM, and Suga because I couldnt believe that they were literally trained but you wouldnt even think of it that way. One of their best dance practices during their early years were Boys in Luv, Danger and then the later years, one of my favorites, RUN dance practice, their Japanese tracks.. but I'm sure ARMYs will give you more examples. Please please watch them. Really looking forward to it! 💜
No, they were called the eternal rookies , cuz everytime they comeback, they came back as a different group( completely different songs and with the energy of a rookie).
Monster rookies have another meaning which means having already award of music show right after debuting , etc BTS didn’t have that.

Fun fact: There actually are some videos of workout inspired by their songs or choreo(mostly simplified or similar moves). You can find it on YT with keywords like "BTS Songs choreo workout" etc.
When you hear them say that this is a hard choreography for them I remember their Danger MV in 2014 which they also said that it was a difficult choreo for them too that they had to learn in 1 week. At this point in their career they've done so many difficult choreographies and I wonder what else could they not have done bec aside from Idol they also did Dionysus, On KM and Run BTS which were super intense choreographies too. @6:12 you missed when Jimin was shouting/singing "you've worked hard" to the tune of I will always love you by Whitney Houston. Also I think watching them in three is not it. You can focus on only one especially who is in the middle at the same you can kinda watch all of them. Actually there is one restaurant in Korea that is BTS themed, it is near the BTS' dorm that they frequent when they were trainees. It's full of BTS posters and there'also a BTS menu. It has become one of the popular tourist spots in South Korea. The lady who is the owner of that restaurant said back then that they are different from other kids and that she was sure that they will be successful in the future.

At 16:49 is The Kick. Which is amazing! But during a Live Performance Jimin always kicks even higher!
Then it seems the next Performance his kick is even higher again! And so on and so on. His high kick is very Impressive. This dance practice. Again very impressive because he has those huge boots on. I must say I don't understand why they let them wear boots or slip on shoes or anything besides dance shoes. We were never allowed to wear anything dance inappropriate. You can easily twist your ankle in boots. Even though it doesn't seem like it. Or sprain your knee. And we were never allowed to wear hats or hoodies or coats or sweaters because you could overheat and pass out so easily. I'm almost sure in Jimin's high school dance classes the choreographer would not allow that. So it has always surprised me some of their clothing and shoe choices for their dance practices.
I think their clothes at practice is to prepare them for stage outfits that they have to dance in. Many of the costumes incredibly hot and inappropriate footwear
@marissa1341 you could be right. But as a retired dancer I've never had a choreographer let us do that. Here is a reason why I think you could be right. Did you see the interview that Suga did with Jin? Jin was saying he found out on vacation that he could hold his breath twice as long as his friends.
Then Suga said remember when we would run in place before a performance to get their lungs ready for a performance. And they used to wear face masks to dance and sing in to strengthen their voice muscles.
I had never heard of that method. But I guess athletes do that too. So thanks for your thoughts.

I don't think I can survive the workout by doing BTS choreo. I do have a BTS Hype playlist though , that I use whenever I exercise/workout/do chores. It really pumps me up. The song "Idol" is included. 😄
