I was trying to find a solution to the slow, wide angle lenses on my M6. The native 11-22 is pretty slow. I can get the Sigma 16 but it's expensive and big. I looked at using the speed booster on a wide angle EF lens but it seems they're all giant in comparison to EF-M lenses. An EF 17-40L with the speedbooster is the size of the 55-200 fully extended and weighs twice as much... Still might be worth trying. It would be a solid f/2.8 all the way through the focal length. Maybe the EF 20mm f/2.8 with a speedbooster. It would be wide and fast, slightly longer than the Sigma 16 and a bit heavier but it's probably not better than the Sigma, not faster than the Sigma and all said and done not cheaper....
Canon had rumored before the pandemic that they'd be making a 15mm f/2. I'd still buy that lens if it wasn't huge.

Yeah, most wide angle full-frame lenses will be expensive and large. I buy cheap gear to mess around with without any expectation on autofocus or image quality, so not sure what wide angle EF gear is available. I see a Canon 20-35mm f/3.5-4.5 USM on KEH that's cheaper than the 20mm f2.8. Though it's still $200. Samyang just announced an autofocus 12mm f/2 for Sony APS-C so maybe they will eventually release an EF-M version. The manual focus version of that lens is on EF-M. Also, there were rumors of a Viltrox aps-c wide angle lens, but I haven't heard anything about it lately.

You can check out the Samyang AF 14mm f2.8 EF or if you don't mind manual focus, 7Artisans 12mm f2.8.

@@champCats Thanks, I know there are manual focus lenses that would fit the bill. I'd like to have that same focal length and even aperture with AF.

@@ScottJWaldron A 12mm f/2 with AF would fit the bill nicely as long as it wasn't huge. I'd even go for an f2.8 to make it smaller. Either as a native lense would be great. The reality is once I adapt a lens then it's larger and heavier than the already large and heavy Sigma lens and the Sigma is likely just better.
      Still, I can hope.

Would this lens be any good for dirt bike videography

No, it's old and the way it focuses isn't good for action. If you camera is ef-m them consider the Canon EF-M 18-150mm as a simple solution to cover pretty much anything.
