I've somehow been able to confidently recently a few times, got rejected, but I think another thing that helps is loving yourself, not being self-deprecating, even as a joke, not feeling pity about your status, job, money, health, age, etc. or anyone else's. This isn't something I can be really confident or have experience with, but apparently making a girl you're dating feel special and unique, honestly believing and expressing that, helps? Part of it too is when young boys are fed a massive number of reasons to never have sex, be it all the STD's or all the scenarios where you don't yet know whether something's endearingly persistent or harassment or hearing loads of stories where 2 people were into it but suddenly the next day one decides "nah, actually I was taken advantage of". Understandable for anyone with low self esteem and limited social interaction to fall into a habit of assuming no one's interested - if anything because it's way safer to assume you're the one reading too much into a "hint" than the life altering consequences of being wrong. Maybe the "hints" shouldn't be insane levels of subtle.
What Numi meant, is that she is able to pick up quickly on regular social interaction, but she is inexperienced romantically, so she didn't notice Yuzu requesting intimacy.

Yes!! If only people were more forthcoming and weren't playing games like maybe they'll notice if I move my hair a certain way or drop something in front of them. If someone wants to throw hope to the wind that someone picks up on your extremely subtle hints, cool, do you. However, it rarely works and retroactively shaming others for not picking up on those silly hints is even worse. If they are saying things but not making it clear, try asking just 'what, are you saying *this* for us? haha' and that could leave it as if you are both asking jokingly at first but if mutual feelings are had, this is leaving them the option of being serious with you and you having come across as accepting of the idea.
Then if their reply still confuses you, continue asking questions until you understand whether its a yes or a no, but not all relationships rely on a yes or a no, ive had a girl turn me down then a week later ask me out, so it can also be very shocking to the system for someone thats a little new to the game of romance
