      Altered scale?

The half step below the chord tone has been the easiest method for me of being able to target chord voicing’s. The reason is that I know that within that small section of the pattern I am automatically able to hit the chord tones and target some color notes all with one pattern/movement. The best part is that the pattern is pretty much the same regardless of the root being on the low E or A strings. If you know where they are in the grouping of chord tones with half step below notes, it is easy to practice the same shape because it’s moveable. Like if I get to the 7th note when targeting a major (or minor 7 chord tone) I know that if I am targeting a half step below or half step above note I know that my root/tonic note is right after the 7th and depending where I am at on the fretboard string wise, I know my third is right below it back one fret or right below the fretted note. Arpeggios DEFINITELY help being able to navigate the fretboard because it allows u to see outside a scale shape and to target specific notes within a chord and being able to identify those notes across the fretboard.

feels like an actual artist who loves music is teaching me arpeggios, and not just a boring professor with homework and assignments.

@@RotemSivanGuitar It would also be great to talk about some of the effects you use to hear notes/chords droning over one another - in order to hear a chord tone against a scale. I would love to be able to do more of that when I practice by myself.
