can't wait to hear your conclusions. the doc shows also the roughness in the business and how she copes with it at her young age and as the person she is.
I just want to express my gratitude to you for doing this. I cannot afford to support you financially as I am almost homeless myself. But I am a subscriber at least. I described Aurora as "PURE" on a previous video of yours and I hope you can see why from watching this doc. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body and her music comes from within.
You are spot on so far.... I just want to mention to all: it is a documentary that tells a story about chosen aspects of this period in her life. Actually there is a "the making of" video where they tell that they had to choose and maybe simpilfy a bit. En example is how she got discovered: it was 1 song on Facebook from the school performance, and the other was Puppet was uploaded to NRK P3 Urørt, and she was named "this weeks urørt". My understanding is that it was Puppet that made the biggest impact. But the essence is correct. When the management contact her she actually said no, but her mother convinced her to check it out....
Fantastic part 1. Can't wait for the rest! Also you should know this doc doesn't go into everything she was dealing with then. Lot of it they kept out for good reason. But she talks about it later in other interviews.
So glad your doing Once Aurora! Really gives you so good insight as to how involved and talented she actually is! She was very young when her career took off. She had spent most of her life home and exploring the forest near her house. The support and most of all support from Magnus helped her tremendously in the first couple of years.
I appreciate your reaction and all the trouble you've gone to, to get this uploaded. Your reaction to this documentary and appreciation for Aurora is fantastic, and you should never apologize for possibly misinterpreting something. That's all part of a first-time reaction. It's awesome that we have this snapshot of Aurora in the very early stages of her career, but even as she was promoting the documentary, she made it clear that she was a different person even then, and the really difficult to watch stuff was behind her. Still, I think it's very educational, and makes you appreciate Aurora's authenticity and how she's grown as both an artist and a person over the years. It makes me enjoy her happiness these days even more, knowing how she got there. I feel very lucky that this special artist has really had her entire career very well documented (both on and off stage), and it's an extremely fascinating and rewarding journey to watch. I really look forward to the next part! 🤟
I am so happy that you are getting Aurora! Like I said and think and discovered is that there is no one else like her. I love what you said....I never even really thought of her that way..."Aurora is music" I only want to listen to Aurora. She really covers all of the moods....sassy, on the rock side, *soft rock* but creative of course. Making statements about the environment, acceptance of everybody, no matter what your differences, "Exhale Inhale" done in VEVO "STUDIO'? It is very different. the song sounds....almost romantic, it looks romantic....she kind of dances in it. She is so graceful. Exist for Love is a beautiful love song...happy! Everything Matters is a Duet done with a well known French Singer named "Pomme'' it is a fun song. "Churchyard" has got a good beat going to it. Thank you for recognizing and putting so much thought in Aurora and recognizing that she is truly magic!
That was great man. You are really getting into Aurora and i am Impressed that you take so much energy and emotions into this. I would love to see this hole awesome documentary with you. You are going to see so much of her and not everything is beautiful..
This is a great documentary, so glad you decided to react to it :) She’s very unique in every single way, impossible not to love imo Looking forward to the next part, ciao
Yay!!! ^_^ Was really hoping you'd do this one after watching that last mini doc. This one is so fascinating....such an insight into her mind and world.
Alex!!! Thank you for making this reaction video to 'Once Aurora'. Please, don't feel as if you need to apologize for not 'getting it'. Believe me, in your reactions you have nailed it, my friend!! Gotta grasp the time frame here - the film jumps around a bit. You can tell post-early 2017 Aurora with her bangs. Looking forward to part 2. (Had to come back to congratulate you on your editing - well done!)
This is a very revealing documentary to the beginning of her career. I am not sure if anyone has told you, but Aurora is an introvert, she really had to work hard for years to get to the comfort level she is with the audience and one on one with her fans. You can see it her live performances now, there is so much joy and happiness in her, and stealing this from another commenter on different reaction, and "it is just like a big party now when she is on stage performing", her interactions with the crowd are priceless.
She wasn't satisfied with the first album, she had to compromise too much with her management and labels, and she also has 3 different contracts for different parts of the world. But as you saw here, she learned to say no, and make sure she had more control over the songs. Though she still has to make some "compromises" making radio hits like the management and labels wants, she makes them in her own style, like "Animal" is a kind of ironic song from her. Here is a quote from an article just after the first album was released: - How long does this process of understanding and moving on usually take? Aurora: Well, I think it varies a lot. Because as an artist you compromise a lot, especially on the first album after you get signed by all these record companies-I have three record companies in different countries! You know, I can really feel the difference on the album between the songs that come from my heart and the songs that are just there because they have to be there. All the songs that are closest to my heart are songs that just happened, like an epiphany. Writing them was almost like falling, there's nothing else in the world that can make me as happy as when those songs appear. - What do you mean by "songs that are just there because they have to be there?" Aurora: I used to only write to make myself satisfied. I didn't really care if people said, "Oh, this is a nice song." But all these people who've signed me, they know the industry and what will fit on radio-whereas I don't really think about things like that, it's not my job. Even though I know these people love me and only want me to succeed, we care about different things. Often we disagree and sometimes I win, and sometimes I don't. But the B-side on the album is kind of like my side, and the A-side is kind of the record companies' side, except for "Runaway" and "Winter Bird" which are songs I feel very close to. "Conqueror"-the single which is out now-is more the business part than the heart part. But it's nice to play live because it’s one song where I can smile and dance and not feel like crying. Some of my other songs are quite dark.
I love this documentary because it tells about and shows Aurora at the beginning of her career and how she manages the intricacies of touring, recording her album and standing up to her management. Do yourself a favor and watch one of her performances from her current album to see how far she has come. My favorite is her VEVO performance of Exhale Inhale. It is magical and shows the beautiful woman that she has become.
I really enjoyed this first part. It's a great insight into the struggles and pressures that Aurora felt in the early days. Thank you for taking the time to react to this wonderful documentary. Looking forward to Part two. Thanks
Maybe be an idea if you had the pictures reversed here. since there are subtitles and such.. And preferably a notch louder 🤓 But I can't stop watching anyway 😄
@@Tarkus_ TH-cam deleted my comment apparently. I just saw it free on "some other websites. Including a big one that starts with an "A" that streams a lot of stuff and ships things free... *SMH* Looks like TH-cam wants people to pay for a movie that is free everywhere else. So wrong.
@@HalkerVeil YT deleting comments is....beyond annoying. About 1/3 of mine get deleted on the regular, despite the fact I only ever post positive good stuff. Nothing that breaks any rules. -___- However, in fairness...Aurora & Co didn't produce this doc. It was made by a production team run by some old friends of hers. They clearly put a lot of time and money into the project...and when you pay for it, the overwhelming majority of that goes to them. If the entire doc was just free....for everyone....it never would have been able to be made in the first place. I paid for it back when it came out...to support the creators of it, but also because I'm a huge Aurora fan willing to pay for quality stuff.
@@HalkerVeil This is totally not what happened, and to this day, everyone involved in this project actually lost money. This movie is absolutely not free to watch, nowhere. Any place where it's free is likely illegal. The only place where it's "free" is on T U B I (US only) where ads are used to pay the team. Otherwise, it can be bought or rented on 3 other sites I can't name or YT deletes my post :/ This is not me making stuff up, btw, this comes from the producers themselves. They are fine with reaction videos, as long as a link to one of those sites is given in the description, and viewers encouraged to go there.
I don"t know if anyone has mentioned this to you before, but your audio quality is really bad. Could be your mike or something else in your system. Sound is very bassy with no highs. Also audio level is not constant, goes uo and down. Just wanted to let you know if someone else hasn't told you.
13:30 AURORA's backing vocalist around that time was Selma Stang. Selma and Odd Martin (the guitar player) are a married couple since 2019.

Aurora doesn't do copyright claims.
I wonder if it's another studio that produced this.
Yeah, it's actually kind of difficult to find this documentary for many people, because it's blocked for a lot of locations.
