    I just subscribed. Your videos are very informative. I just got my first kayak last fall. I have not fished out of it yet as there is 13 inches of fresh snow on the ground. Still got a month or so to wait. I am disabled and have two prosthetic below the knee legs. The kayak let me get back into fishing and seeing the outdoors again. Keep up the good work. I got the Native Ultimate 12,it is a 2016 model

    u want to make the box bigger, do cutting/drilling and sanding, but why wouldnt u replace the lure box with smaller one??

    I like the side channels on those rigs for the fishing poles and the tip protectors. your setup looks good. good luck down there this weekend.

    Why not just replace the red and black box with a regular 3700 size clear box.its why easier then cutting your box.

    As primarily a yak angler, I'm loving the kayak videos. Keep em coming. Surprised to see you don't have a fish finder mounted up yet and you don't use a rudder.

    Great breakdown of rigging the BigRig, looking forward to seeing witch finder you’re going to put on it. I wish I could have made it back down there with y’all for round two, get on them and catch that DD for me

    Excellent video, Greetings from Mexico, I am your fan and I have to say I have learned too much from you, regarding kayak protection, have you have a recommendation to protect the bottom part of the hull, here where I live, in the lagoons or lakes we have too much small stones close to the ramps and cause damage to the kayak, I have seen some videos of how to protect the kayak, but I would like to get your recommendations, regards

    I am curious, why not just buy a new transducer to mount on your yak & use the fish finder you already have a bunch of your own info saved on?

  • @larry4188
    @larry4188 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Flukemaster, can you make a video on The Big Rig vs Hobie PA 14? Since you have both kayaks, it will be nice to see you compare the pro and cons for your style of fishing out of a kayak.
    I'm tired of reading blogs and posts of people not giving enough explanations of why to buy one kayak than the other. I will eventually buy a kayak, and if I decide on the PA 14, I will wait a little longer to save up. But with the cost of a Hobie, I can also buy the Big Rig Pro and be all ready to go out and fish.

    Can you do a video about using a fish finder on a kayak...not how to use the actual fish finder, but how to use it effectively on a kayak...I just got a fish finder and went out once on my kayak and when I was done for the day, I was trying to figure out how the fish finder can be an effective tool in helping me catch more fish...THANKS!

    It seems like with the camera mounts and rods sticking up in the air like that, they would get in the way of making casts? Also, that power pole micro seemed pretty awesome, I have never seen that before.

      @johne.osmaniii9768 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jethro B, I'm betting that his reply will go something on the order of, when you are fishing the skinnier/shallower waters where the bigger boats cannot get to, you are probably going to be sight fishing, instead of watching a side/down imaging radar, but there is also a flip to that part, ... because if you have a fairly xpensive depthfinder, you probably do not want to shell out for another cable hook up, ... the mount, & associated cables run on the xpensive side, to buy a separate setup, for any type of depthfinder, ... (sometimes almost as much as the original unit), ... so as I spent $1600.00 for my last unit, ... I am going to put it onto my kayak, which cost more than 1/2 of what I spent on the kayak itself, ... I guess between the trailer, upgrades, to the kayak, my gear, & modifications, I have probably got somewhere around $3500.00 tied up in my stuff, ...

    For some reason I chuckled when you were talking about your Power Pole Micro, when you said, "this is the battery powered one." As apposed to what, the AC powered one with a 4 mile extension cable? Still can't make up my mind, the Big Rig or a NuCanoe Pursuit. Was going to get one this weekend at the Outdoor show here in Chicago, but yeah, totally sick...Go figure!

    • @garyb1635
      @garyb1635 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rich Johnson I was wondering about that also....unless they have a version that runs off an external battery like how we hook up depth/fish finders on kayaks

    • @nixternal
      @nixternal 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gary B Oh, they do, but that would still be "battery powered", that's why I chuckled.

    • @Flukemaster
      @Flukemaster  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The battery pack Micro was new last year. Before that you had to drill a hole in your kayak and run it to a large 12 volt batter that was stored in the boat.

    When did you get rid of your hobie?

    • @garyb1635
      @garyb1635 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      PBond Fishing he still has it.....he said in another video it has its place with the peddle drive. but as far as small ponds and lakes like Bienville he uses the Jackson. also I think he did just get a sponsorship with Jackson. big weight difference with the hoobie versus Jackson or really any peddling kayak adds a lot of weight. I have a predator 13 which is about 85lbs and the new old town predator PDL weighs in at like 117. so pretty much once you get into the peddle systems you might want to think about how to haul and get it to place to place.

    what is an all around bass rod for the price of a 15 year old

    • @IdiotVSFish
      @IdiotVSFish 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I don't know how much 15 year olds go for in your country, but the standard here is $49.50 per 15 year old. Now that's going to fluctuate with the market so you really have to watch it and time your selling well enough to hit the peaks. I sold 30 15 year olds last week at $70/15 year old but that is rare. I keep a back stock of 15 year olds in my basement for times when the market peaks but the shelf life on them is very short. I tend to get mine at local parks. I find that if you get them during a birthday party setting they tend to last longer. You can tell when a 15 year old has gone bad when they start driving places. By the way, you shouldn't let them drive too much because they tend to go straight to the police and then you've got the fuzz poking around asking things like, "Why are your windows on your van all spray painted black?" and "What are all of these 15 year olds doing in your basement?" and "Why don't you have any clothes on?" Clearly they aren't familiar with the business, but it's very lucrative so I think they are just jealous.

    This was obviously before he sold out to Torqeedo! I'm all for the disabled or physically challenged and their need for Torqeedo! But when a healthy person goes for the lazy approach just to gain an advantage, especially in tournaments, I am completely against it! Paddle or peddle, otherwise stay in your bass boat. I am very much a fan of you and what you do! Only exception, the Torqeedo!

      +douglas clark in order to be sold out you actually have to get paid for something. They don't pay me a dime. I talk about and promote Torqeedo so disabled people can know that it exists. Put your phone down and step away for a few. Your judgement is clouded.

      Flukemaster so you paid for the Torqeedo, probably not I'm sure they gave it to you, one less for a veteran! Like I said I love what you do, I look forward to every post to learn something from you. But not this!

    I feel like it would be pretty hard to turn around behind you and grab the tackle boxes and those rods in the rod holders

      Fishing With Will it is in cheaper kayaks. these Jackson's and Hobie's are more than stable enough to turn around. heck they're made to stand and fish out of. can sit sideways with your legs in the water and fish too.

      Not sure if you'd ever try kayak fishing. It's a different experience.
