Was living vicariously through the pandemic via van lifers for a while there, this popped up in my recommended videos. Gotta say, fair play to you man. I'm not sure I'd have the brass to pull this off. But it made for entertaining viewing! Aside from the threat of a knock, I'd wager police stations are pretty safe areas to stealth camp in! 😂👌💯🙏👌✌️
Cracking video as normal mate, a risky camp but if anyone could pull it of then you could. Love meat prep hack, I'm defo getting me some meat scissors!! Can't wait for the next vid mate. 😁👍
You need a diesel heater bud. Can get them for next to nothing on eBay or Amazon now. I used to stealth camp in an old Volvo V70 I had with limo tinted rear windows, had one or two dicey moments, police, doggers, you name it :D saved thousands over the years. Good on ya.
I was originally planning on getting one but most of the time the van gets too hot in the night without a heater. Even in winter. It’s only the nights that drop to nearly freezing where it’s too cold. But then the heaters exhaust makes noise so isn’t very stealthy. So I’m thinking for the few nights a year that it’s too cold I’ll just use other options. If I get a bigger van I’m getting one though! And thanks for watch mate!
An investment worth shelling out for is a Mr Heater 'Portable Buddy' heater. Expensive, but work an absolute treat. Indoor safe, and has a few fail safes in place as well. They also do a 'Little Buddy' heater too - again indoor safe and gas is virtually odourless same as the Portable Buddy unlike gas stoves. I had one in my Combo camper a few years ago, still use it now in the 4x4 and it works great and is toasty warm and quite safe as well. Look forward to the next Adzventure... :)
They actually look well good, just looked them up. I have something very similar that attaches to the top of the screw in canisters but I don’t really trust it. But those buddy heaters look a lot higher quality. I know there’s a cheap version that runs off the bayonet cans of butane but I definitely don’t trust those cans because I’ve seen so many reports of them blowing up. So yeah the buddy heater could be the perfect option! My van is ok down to about 5 degree weather so I may not need it until next winter but that’s definitely on the list of things to get. Thanks!
Quick tip: Get yourself one of those cheap silicone spatulas, they reduce washing up by 95%. When I cook in the Ridge Monkey I usually scrape it clean and than just wipe it with a paper towel.
……. Re ventilation, my suggestion would be a pair of tinted Heko wind deflectors on the front window doors, then you can crack the windows ever so slightly without anyone seeing them from the outside……
I was in a seven and a half tonne lorry couldn't find anywhere to park at night in Barry Island I ask a policeman And he said you can park in the police station so we followed him parked the lorry in the police station car park And they let us use the facilities in police station and they said we could sleep in a cell if we like but we past on that And slept in lorry. 👍.
Bruv. As a Mexican, I feel it to be my duty to suggest that you heat your tortillas on both sides on a medium heat pan until they slightly bubble up before you eat/use them. The flour on/in them is more bitter tasting if you don't. It's a game changer. But just a suggestion. Love the channel BTW. Orale carnal.
When I’m at home I usually heat them. But I just do it in a microwave. I’ll have to try a pan! But in the van I’m limited with pans and hob space etc so I usually do things a bit more basic. And thanks!
😂 Sweet, you have no freaking sense! WTF! 🤣 Glad it worked out for you though. You couldn't have picked a safer spot at least. Personally, I have an interesting past so there's no way I'm willingly going into the lion's den but it's good to know I can if I need too. It's funny you said you were doing something unusual by seasoning your meat before putting it in the pan because that's how we always do it in the South. I would never have thought to put seasoning on the meat while it was cooking. Crazy how many little things we do differently. Anyway, I still need to watch your last video. I put it off because I haven't taken off yet - I have one more follow-up with my oral surgeon - and I was jealous as freak but now I'm thinking I'll just do some local trips until the big send off. Glad you're doing do well. Hugs!
😂😂 well I just figured it’d be interesting if I got a knock 😂. And yeah a lot of seasoning we’d put on before the meat is cooked, but with this fajita mix it goes straight into the pan. It’s ok if there’s a lot of oil in the pan but I don’t use oil so powder just sticks to the pan and burns! Hope your trip comes up soon!
Evening……how’s it going, always looking out for you’re next stealth camp…. You are risking having the bomb squad turn up in the middle of the night, parking in a police yard / car park…..FairPlay 🤪😂👍🇮🇲
For added stealth, use a red light ( an army technigue ) and turn out the white ones before having a nosy. It preserves your night vision and is less visible at a distance. If you need stealthy ventilation , open your front drivers and passengers windows , depending on wind direction - one less than the other 😉
Another idea for stealthy ventilation might be some speaker cloth with magnets glued on the sides which you attach to either side of your side door / doors to act as a light barrier 👍
Yeah that’s a good idea with the red light. Although it might seem like an open invitation to doggers 😂😂 but yeah I have front window deflectors so they’re always open a bit
Maybe park at a homeless encampment next? Wake up to a window getting smashed? That would be quite exciting. HEHE I like having cameras on 4 points of the vehicle so you can see whats cracking on outside without looking out a window.
Haha I’ll add it to the potential videos list. And yeah I was actually thinking of having some type of night vision cameras outside. I think if I ever get a bigger van I’ll definitely be doing that. I do t like the idea of side windows in a van because then it’s less stealthy
Right mate, so what you’re missing on the van is hidden outside cameras to give you a 360° view. Get a small monitor and keep an eye on what’s going on!
Yeah I have thought about that, maybe some sort of night vision cameras that connect to my phone. I’m unsure whether I’m getting a new van or not but if I keep this one for a while I’ll be looking into it!
Have you tried Mexican Quesadillas in the ridge monkey, I do spicy cheese, onions, peppers, & meat. I also do sweet ones with chocolate spread with banana and marshmallows,,so bit like a inside out pitza
If you put the 80watt tube heater on the floor under the bed and because it's the thermostatic one it will use almost nothing on very low but should keep your van warm all night whatever the temperature outside
Not a criticism but could you partially open the window(s) in the front of the van and let your ventilation fan pull fresh air into the van when cooking? I remember it described as a "solar fan" but does that means it only works when in direct sunlight?
Yeah that’s exactly what I do if I’m only having the gas on for a couple of mins. But if it’s on longer I like to have the door open a little too. The fan has a built in battery so the solar charges that. But it’s not very powerful really
It's a nebula capsule max. And the screen is just a table top screen from amazon. You can see how I mounted it on my build video th-cam.com/video/riH1mJWqarc/w-d-xo.html
I change my mind all the time. If I go really big it’ll be a ducato I expect. But I don’t think I want anything that big. So most likely just a step up to a transporter. And thanks!
Big Big Question....having a weak bladder I'd be tieing a knot 🪢 in it all night, how do you cope, especially as like in this video you didn't want to get out in the night?
Just depends where you stay really. If I’m not in ‘nature’ I can just wait until morning but a lot of people opt for a bottle if they don’t have a toilet
Haha thank you! And yeah it’s great but I still can’t work out if it’s actually hotter than just having the flame on it’s own. I think it just radiates the heat outwards more

You need one of those 360° outside security cameras on our roof, then you can sit inside and see who's noseying about near your van. Stealth like. 🛌📺
Yeah I’ll be doing something like that if I build a new van for sure!
What, Saxface, how about a blunderbuss too ? The freedom of the road, eh. Like living in a bleeding stallag !
Binge watching all your videos and its good to see someone else who adds the salsa to the mix in the pan.
Thanks mate! And yeah haha. I mean I wouldn’t mind it room temperature but it needs to be kept in the fridge and having it cold would ruin the wrap 😂

"I'm just going to make a hot water bottle so I can take my clothes off" outside this police station hahahaha classic line right there! Great vid man.

bloody spoiling it mate I just started to watch the video looked at the comments and I saw your vid
