Nice one, well done.
I’m sure that others with knowledge of our developmental stages will have explanations for why you didn’t stand up… then.
But you remembered that moment.
Why did it affect you when for so many others it would not?
Perhaps it was part of a story already written?
There are those moments of feeling, of poignant moral, that we note as we look back. These points in our life seem to be repeated.
Inescapable.
Groundhog Days.
Why?
Perhaps it’s a training for a moment when an“incident” is more than just a nuisance?
Perhaps it’s training for the time that will actually count?
Maybe it is for a time when an “incident” requires YOU?
No-one wants to experience the drama that you have endured.
And it is clear that you don’t either.
The events that occurred however, could not be ignored by you - because of your early life experiences.
There are many of us who have faced actions that are immoral and unjust.
And then, there is the choice to avoid inevitable pain and damage?
But many good people will choose to stand up and to expose crimes - because it is the “right thing to do”.
We know in ourselves that to try to walk past it would give us a life of an inescapable internal pain.
Thank you for being resistant, persistent and loyal to yourself.
Winning this will change Australian society.
You should of read the audiobook yourself.
