It was always going to be a tough game. Great seeing us create so many chances, especially in the first half, but the early errors cost us. I knew this was going to happen when there was so much hype around how many games we had gone unbeaten. Even still, a great run from the lads did themselves and the fans proud. 👏 on to the next...

Unlucky today, this one was always going to be a tough game from one of the relegated teams. Apart from the 10 minutes of what looked like poor defending early on which led to their goals I thought we really managed to hold our own. I was expecting a close draw at the start, not this thriller of a game to watch. The 21 game undefeated streak had to end eventually and no shame in it ending to a team from the Premier League last season. Lots of positive points and lots to learn from this game, now lets bounce back against Reading on Tuesday and start the 20+ game undefeated streak again
It always makes me laugh how fans just say the goals their team let in were down to poor defending and ignore the skill of the other team. All 4 of Leeds' goal were exceptional attacking goals and lovely finishes. 4-3 flattered Ipswich in truth, the 1st was a poor cross that was put in by a Leeds player, the 2nd was idiotic defending and the 3rd was a massive deflection.
IPSWICH By far best team ive seen this season in championship ,came up against a good Leeds team ,fair play to Farke hooking Drameh at half time ,shackleton was different class and changed game
The overall match for Ipswich Town was quite good, but there were a number of weaknesses, especially in the line of defense, the slow response needs to be fixed, maybe you can try to replace it with another defender. I'm sure Coach McKenna really understands what needs to be fixed. the line of attack is quite googood
How come it doesn't show you been off side for the first goal and 2 other goals where the ref allowed 30 seconds over extra time and then another goal 1 minute past half time. Officials helped Ipswich no end you were lucky the scoreline makes it look closer than it should. Make no wonder you have good home record with Officials like that.

The Leeds team yesterday were not the team that got relegated, 12 of that side have left. It takes time for the new managers ideas and patterns of play to bed into a side. Reality check. It's going to be hard against parachute payment clubs. Every year there are 3 relegated teams with money out of reach and few additional parachute teams who didn't get promoted in last two years. To achieve a promotion Ipswich need to be better than some of those invincible teams. Ipswich looked competitive at home against Leeds but I'm wondering are they going to be able to get points away v Southampton 18th September? Hladky - I told you! He's not a goalkeeper, he just wear goalkeeper gloves. Poor game. Two big errors, two small errors, one very good save, few saves that he had to make. With Walton Ipswich would have won or at least get a draw. Town need a serious second choice keeper of Walton's quality or even better. McKenna praises Hladky for being great with feet. Don't agree with it, after his poor pass in penalty area Leeds scored second goal. 4th goal - he took one step back and then he realised he had to run forward as it's one on one. Too late. Davis - Doing well in attack, made goal error in defence. Clarke, Williams - Not in form yet. Clarke is a weird player. Always one touch away from doing something great but in the end he doesn't. At least he tries. Both right backs were having problems with fast wingers. Woolfenden - Probably best out of all defenders, still not a good game and he had his own mistakes. Burgess - Very poor, once passed straight to Leeds player without being under pressure. Burgess & Wolfendeen are too often passing slow balls between them but maybe it's part of McKenna's tactics to force other teams into pressing. I don't like passes with ball slowly rolling to the player it was aimed to. Overall Ipswich defence had a nighmare day in the office. They were caught too many times hoping someone else will do their job instead of trying to deal with things by themselves. Luongo, Morsy - Both were good. I feel if they keep doing crazy tackles from behind they will eventually get sent off. Burns - Not in form yet. He could have won this game by himself. Many great runs behind Leeds defence but for some reason he doesn't go into one on one with goalkeeper even when he can. Taylor - Did nothing wrong, good shot. Chaplin - OK game, great shot. Broadhead, Huthchinson - Both are careless when it comes to losing ball in dangerous areas and sometimes they are not giving their 100% in defence. Both are doing well in attack. Harness - Not sure about him. Scored some in preseason friendlies but he doesn't look like a Championship player (yet). Jackson - Surprised to see him in first eleven but it was a great choice by McKenna. We all know that he's limited, his ball control is awful. Still it was his game. Two assists which rewarded his great work rate. He's improving and can be pain in the arse for other teams. Ladapo - Not much to say. From my point of view he's more suited to Championship because there's more space and he doesn't do well in tight areas against teams playing 11 man behind ball. For some reason he's third striker now. --- Donancien - I admit it as I didn't rate him as a first team player but Ipswich missed him. Right now he's more suited because he doesn't do as many errors as other right defenders. Hirst - I know he's injured but Ipswich didn't miss him at all. He's out of form. He looks like a Kieffer Moore when he was at Ipswich. He falls every time ball is near him. He's losing too many balls. He gets his mind setup too much into fights v defenders forgetting about what he needs to do to score a goal. Maybe that's the reason why he's not succeeded at this level. Lot of improvement needed. I want Hirst in a fast tank mode like he scored a goal v Barnsley.

Ipswich looked competitive at home against Leeds but I'm wondering are they going to be able to get points away v Southampton 18th September?
Hladky - I told you! He's not a goalkeeper, he just wear goalkeeper gloves. Poor game. Two big errors, two small errors, one very good save, few saves that he had to make. With Walton Ipswich would have won or at least get a draw. Town need a serious second choice keeper of Walton's quality or even better. McKenna praises Hladky for being great with feet. Don't agree with it, after his poor pass in penalty area Leeds scored second goal. 4th goal - he took one step back and then he realised he had to run forward as it's one on one. Too late.
Davis - Doing well in attack, made goal error in defence.
Clarke, Williams - Not in form yet. Clarke is a weird player. Always one touch away from doing something great but in the end he doesn't. At least he tries. Both right backs were having problems with fast wingers.
Woolfenden - Probably best out of all defenders, still not a good game and he had his own mistakes.
Burgess - Very poor, once passed straight to Leeds player without being under pressure.
Burgess & Wolfendeen are too often passing slow balls between them but maybe it's part of McKenna's tactics to force other teams into pressing. I don't like passes with ball slowly rolling to the player it was aimed to. Overall Ipswich defence had a nighmare day in the office. They were caught too many times hoping someone else will do their job instead of trying to deal with things by themselves.
Luongo, Morsy - Both were good. I feel if they keep doing crazy tackles from behind they will eventually get sent off.
Burns - Not in form yet. He could have won this game by himself. Many great runs behind Leeds defence but for some reason he doesn't go into one on one with goalkeeper even when he can.
Taylor - Did nothing wrong, good shot.
Chaplin - OK game, great shot.
Broadhead, Huthchinson - Both are careless when it comes to losing ball in dangerous areas and sometimes they are not giving their 100% in defence. Both are doing well in attack.
Harness - Not sure about him. Scored some in preseason friendlies but he doesn't look like a Championship player (yet).
Jackson - Surprised to see him in first eleven but it was a great choice by McKenna. We all know that he's limited, his ball control is awful. Still it was his game. Two assists which rewarded his great work rate. He's improving and can be pain in the arse for other teams.
Ladapo - Not much to say. From my point of view he's more suited to Championship because there's more space and he doesn't do well in tight areas against teams playing 11 man behind ball. For some reason he's third striker now.

Donancien - I admit it as I didn't rate him as a first team player but Ipswich missed him. Right now he's more suited because he doesn't do as many errors as other right defenders.
Hirst - I know he's injured but Ipswich didn't miss him at all. He's out of form. He looks like a Kieffer Moore when he was at Ipswich. He falls every time ball is near him. He's losing too many balls. He gets his mind setup too much into fights v defenders forgetting about what he needs to do to score a goal. Maybe that's the reason why he's not succeeded at this level. Lot of improvement needed. I want Hirst in a fast tank mode like he scored a goal v Barnsley.
