Note how genuine and articulate and fresh Rick Barry is at the end during his interview with Oscar Robertson. So unlike the robotic, dispassionate string of cliches generally uttered by today's athletes during post-game interviews. This hall of famer could not only play incredible basketball, he was (and still is) a superb communicator.
GREAT STLYE OF PLAY THE 75 WARRIORS, TEAM BALL TOUGHNESS AND CLASS WITH BARRY, WILKES AND PHIL SMITH I SEE MANY SIMILARITIES WITH 2015 CHAMPS. GO WARRIORS
Before the Splash Brother era Warriors, there was Al Attles' success with the Dubs from 1970-1977 leading them to four conference finals appearances and a NBA title in 1975.
At the time of that year, Wilt pick Barry and Baylor the best forwards and Oscar and west as the best guards for his all time team plus the Washington team was frankly called the capital bullets. It is an unjust crime that this warriors team is not talked about more when it comes to the very best teams in league history
I think Rick Barry embarrassed the Bullets. He is giving a heavy favorite Washington Bullets a run for the money in the '75 championship title game. The best ever. 40 years later, it's Steph Curry in the 2015 title. How is that for the basketball history lesson. thanks.🇺🇸🏀
For those who think only Bird or Lebron is the greatest forward, should see this. Barry may not be better, but he sure as hell as very close to the top.
It certainly would have been quite a bit more than his 25k plus. He missed what would have been his 3rd season and major parts of 3 of his 4 ABA seasons.
***** yea. his game could totally be relevant in today's game. notice how efficient his moves were before his jump shots. no pointless dribbles. not to mention his superb shooting touch. great stuff.
Wholeheartedly agree, no wasted movements/dribbles/etc. by Barry. That touch and court savvy (Tremendous passing ability, touch, moves, etc.) would translate well/success in any era.
popeyeisgood Rick ran the offense as few forwards ever had. Later Bird and Pippen, but he was the first point forward, along with his scoring and defense, to have such an overall game. Baylor was similar, but had an equally great star in West at guard.
Even though I was a Bullets fan, it was an awesome series. A lot of Barry's hoops would be 3 pointers in today's game. And they really didn't show the extent to which Al Attles flipped out when Riordan intentionally roughed up Barry. Unseld was the only man in that gym that could have held Al back!
Sadly, his personality and "say what is on my mind" attitude, turned-off many players, so much so that he finished THIRD in the MVP voting this season because the players were the voters. He would have definitely finished first (and rightly so) If the sportswriters did the voting. The players had no say in selecting the post season MVP which Barry won handily.
@@trapezemusicKareem and Norm Van Lier had similar issues. They wanted to get in the coaching too and the best Kareem could do was an assistant with the clippers.
The Big O going "Ohhhh" whenever Rick Barry makes an awesome play... LMAO

Rick Barry jumper was FINE
He's better than steph curry
Rick Barry was one of the greatest players of all time.
He would have been murder with the 3 point line
@@milart12 I can just imagine if he just stayed in ABA league...
Good times watching NBA and ABA back then. I was 14. Loved it.
I grew up watching and listening to this team. They were truly a never say die team. This was an awesome season.
Great underdog title winners! Surprised the world at the time.
70s had a lot of parity
Great mix! I was 12 that year and there's so much in here that brings back old snippets from my memory.
achiappanza true Warriors fan
It feels like watchin' the gamd in the neighborhood or the playground in venice beach!! Awsome old school.

+Duane Wayne There are similarities with the 2017 Warriors squad as well.
My father was a big time philadelphia warriors fan (As well as the philadelphia athletics). It's crazy how long ago that was.
The funky music was great. Love the Wha.

This warriors clip should have over a million likes

Much Gratitude
FANTASTIC VIDEO, THANKS SO MUCH

phil chenier is my favorite bullet of all time #45 I love that man!
lot of Walt Frazier type qualities (except steals)
@@margaretmaskara9002 they look just alike too
@@margaretmaskara9002I would say except passing and assists. Chenier was a good defensive player too
When I saw this video I was recovering it's been 2 long years.
Just gotta say, boy was Barry's jumper smooth. Great highlights/video overall though, much respect to the Warriors.

Super la vidéo, ça fait bizarre de voir leur ancienne technique de lancer-francs, et les anciens trophées, ainsi que l'ancien Commissaire NBA.
Golden State was amazing. On paper, they were nothing.
super job. thanx
Énorme la vidéo tout comme le style du lancer franc ^^
They tried to trap Barry in a fight in game for to get him kicked out of the game, but Al 'The Destroyer' Attles would have none of it.
Barry was hot, so was the dog & honey's feathered hairstyle.
REDEMPTION FOR GOLDEN STATE 2015 & 2017 CHAMPS DUB NATION 5x times champs

You can't compare the tow coaches that way. Attles was always physical when he played. He was Wilt's wing man in Phillie and always was a brawler.
yaaa new ring
Rick Barry was so nice his 2 sons made it he put warriors on the map kD better though
Great video.
What are the song names you used in the video? :)))
Rick Barry is the best small forward , Larry bird is second. Both are smart, all around players
Rick Barry pissed off lot of people. I still am not sure why. He couldn't even get a head coaching job people hated him so much

Shooters shooting shots ...

Coaches don't have to be white?
