As a Hockey fan first and an oilers fan second, then western Canada and then Canadian teams. Except Toronto, bahahaha.
I honestly hope Demko and Silovs get healthy and stay healthy. Competition is important for the game and if either team can make it then we are that much better off.

@@JasonHenderson-nn5gj The 1st 6 seasons following the arrival of the Leafs from the Western Conference to the Eastern Conference featured 4 playoff series between them and the Ottawa Senators. Since then there have only been two playoff series that I can count that have featured two Eastern-Canadian teams badly and out in the same playoff series, with the Habs having, during the postseason of:
      - 2013, faced the Sens
      - 2021, faced the Leafs
I am more confident that following the 2020-21 season, the 2024-25 one will feature an Oilers-Canucks playoff series than a Habs-Leafs, Leafs-Sens or Habs-Sens one.

@@leosteel9890 I can't think of a playoff series the Canucks won after their 2011 trip to a Stanley Cup final but before the 2020 postseason. The Champs or Chumps website mentions that drought not even the longest in Canucks history, with the one that ended up lasting their first 11 seasons having remained the longest in team history. In a nutshell, of the longest playoff series win droughts a given existing Canadian NHL team has ever had, excluding the 2004-05 lockout, that of the:
      - Jets' team founded in Atlanta remains the longest at 17 seasons, with the last season that didn't feature, within that grouping, a series win having been the 2016-17 one
      - Leafs that started after that big lockout ended with an April 2023 win of a playoff series over the Bolts (17 seasons)
      - Flames that started during the 1989-90 season didn't end until they were to next appear in a Stanley Cup Final to end their 2003-04 one (14 seasons)
      - Habs that started during the 1931-32 season would not end until they would beat the Leafs during the 1944 postseason (12 seasons) although if the original-6 era is excluded, 4 is the maximum length of any given relevant drought, with that longest such drought having started with the 2015-16 season and having ended during the 2019-20 one
      - Canucks, to start their NHL existence, having lasted 11 seasons
      - Oilers, following their 2006 Stanley Cup appearance, would last the 10 seasons to follow
      - Sens, following their 2017 conference final appearance, extended last season into a 7th season, tying the record set by the 1920s-1930s version of that team
Give the above, the Habs have, among longest-ever playoff series win droughts that Canadian teams have ever had, if the original-6 era is:
      - included, 4th-longest at 12 seasons
      - excluded, 4 seasons, set in the 2010s (although failure to make the 2025 postseason will ensure a tie of that post-original-6 record)

Legitimate. Stanley. Cup. Aspirations.... doesn't equate to talent. Demko had a good month, maybe two months tops... show some consistency THEN you can say he's one of the best goalies in the league.
