Adam needs to lead an intervention for Jimmy Kimmel to seek help for his T.D.S. addiction so he will stop using every monologue to insult and DIS half of the country. Love this Podcast, this is the Real Man Show.
She was really never more than a C-level star, riding her former dating of Jon Stewart/Jimmy Kimmel, to get gigs on cable TV and stay sorta famous. Her podcast/SM invisibility shows this. When we get down to it and with a few exceptions, most 90-s-00's women comedians, all have a Chelsea Handler/S. Silverman type rise to fame.
@@jairkerker2821 Roseanne was from the Leifer/Boosler/Rudner/Tenuta/Poundstone generation of women comics. Even her vaunted "writing" would only be rated as 3rd chair in the writers room if she were a man.
No Adam, NO! Daniel Penny is NOT a "vigilante". He happened to be in the same train car as a mentally deranged, drug addled misfit threatening the passengers around him. Penny stood up and did what he had to in order to subdue the threat and protect the others on the train. He's a Samaritan, a good Samaritan who stepped up on behalf of others. A vigilante is someone who patrols a neighborhood hoping to prevent trouble in order to make a place safer. Penny did NOT seek this dude out, he was a passenger going somewhere when this situation evolved in front of him and he stood up. Period.
Adam's Bernie Sanders rant is why I love Adam Carolla. He gives zero f*cks who he is going to "offend" or piss off by speaking the truth. He just speaks the truth!
That Penny headline is absurd: “subway performer “? How about we add the context of “who threatened the lives of all on board”? Regardless of what you think about what Penny did-at least tell the truth about what happened.
Thanks for more laughs. Saw Earthquake in the theater. It had the gimmick called Sense-Surround. Basically they wheeled 3 huge subwoofers into the theater. So 2.1 stereo in the 70s. They used it for Tora, Tora, Tora and Rollercoaster as well. Rollercoaster is actually a pretty good film.
Not a remote chance Silverman shuts up for one day. However certainly a sponsor could pay her to shut up. Go fund me would work for sure. People would pay to no longer have to hear from her and many others. This may lead to a new trend like the old studio holding contracts....a no speaking contract. Awesome.
I'd 100% watch Adam do reaction videos on TH-cam to 70s, 80s, and 90's action movies. I think that could be his biggest thing on TH-cam. Movie reactions is a whole genre of video on TH-cam and I think Adam would be the best at it. His deep knowledge of obscure references and obscure actors mixed with his wit would be perfect. Adam used to do a series called Basic Cable Commentary which was basically the same thing. He just needs to hire a good editor to edit his reactions down to about 45 mins to an 1 hour and 15 mins. Just think how awesome it'd be to watch Adam doing commentary on Conair, The Rock, Air Force One, Tango & Cash, or Broken Arrow. Please Joe or Dawson, suggest this to Adam.
Daniel Penny never should have been on trial. Sarah Silverman would not be shutting up if her demented side had won. And lastly that was a great Bernie Sanders rant. I despise him too.
I saw all the Sensurround flicks when they came out in the 70's. Earthquake, Midway, Rollercoaster, whatever other ones came out. I think there was only 3 or 4. It wasn't anything more than big ass woofers in the theaters shaking the seats and walls a little and hurting your ears as I recall. I was 9-12 for those years.

Ava Gardner was the most beautiful actress to ever grace the screen.
A subway performer is the four dudes on the subway singing the old Motown songs I enjoyed it when they sang on the subway Glad I never had to deal with a situation like that on the subway 🎯💯💥
More 1970s movie scene analysis, please. A must: the TV movie Pray for the Wildcats (with Marjoe Gortner, Robert Reed, Andy Griffith as a villain, and Shatner!).
During the 70’s, reservists were allowed to wear wigs to comply with hair regulations. Also, Earthquake was advertised as an experience in “Sensurround”. Which meant they put vibrating machines under the theater seats!

And, Earthquake is the movie playing on the tv during the hotel chainsaw massacre in Scarface.
To quote Frank Drebin- draping the long & curlies those flowing blonde locks in proximity to wood or metal turning lathes & shredding machines was surely not recommended in high school shop class & don't call him shirley? Thanks for the Marjo Gortner memories, he surely played many the odd duck character in those cheesy '70 and early 80s movies! He was crawling in the street looking for tiny tiny people that he said are stalking all of us. And a lot of crazier stuff. If you are already nuts then u take that stuff? Good luck.
Marjoe is such an interesting person. I can never understand why he is not the subject of a modern documentary. That childhood with those parents, the Oscar winning exposé of the racket, and his acting career in awesome and weird b-movies. I would watch that.
@@TH-cam-tied The Marjoe documentary is brilliant. I would like a documentary about his extreme childhood, the filming of the documentary and the fallout, and then Marjoe's filmcareer and later life.
There was a time, around the early '70s, where some National Guard would wear a wig to get around hair regulations. They would keep long hair so as to be trendy and not stand out day to day, then wear a short hair wig while in uniform to meet hair length regulations. I do not know if that is what the movie was trying to portray, maybe.
I can clear up the wig question, when I was in the National Guard back in the early 90s, I had a commander who had been in the guard since the 70s. He had pictures of him with big long flowing 70s hippie hair, and he would put on a wig and stuff all his hair up underneath it so that his hair was in regulations for when he went to his National Guard duty The same thing here he’s got that flowing curly hair that goes down to his neck and he can’t have it that long so he has to put on a wig to make it look like his hair is cut within regulations
Looked up Gortner's bio; he was an evangelist as a child, pimped to preach with trilled "R's" and baptist cadences by his parents. There's YT audio of it that is majorly creepy. My brother and I had a one sentence Charlton Heston impersonation, taken from when his architect character sees the skyscraper he designed coming down. He shouts, "Why did I ever BUILD this CONCRETE MONSTROSITY'!"
Back in the early 80's I was in an Army Reserve artillery unit and a guy in my section wore a wig to hide his long hair. I rode with him in his van once, had some paraphernalia in the ash tray. He was a little bit nuts but he was fast at calculating trajectories on the ancient slide rule style equipment we had back then (charts & darts for the artillery types in the audience).
i also wondered where the 70s film 'Earthquake' was going but Adam's sentimental journey were 'everything reminds him of the past' actually paid off. That was pure 1970s wackiness and yes that guy DOES look like Daniel Penny. I'd also suggest that 'Geotz' .. who was that 1980s guy who really did gun down 3 'performers' on the NY subway could look like their 3rd brother if you gave him a curly blond wig.

Jesus Corolla, don’t you know what a short hair wig is? He put a short hair wig on because his real hair is not within military regulations so when he puts on his military uniform he can’t go around with his long civilian hair. Duh.
Walter Matthau was in it for a quick check, playing a drunk at a bar with a hippy wig and hat. Just for maybe a minute. I don't think he has any dialogue but legend has it that he did his own drinking.
Penny was brave enough to step up and defend the people couldn’t defend themselves. An American that did the right thing at the right time.
