Morning Ian great video of a good haul, lots to keep you busy The wagon you showed at the end is a track cleaning carriage the screws adjust the pressure on the pad below to the rail head, the idea is you tow it around your layout behind a locomotive to clean the rails for better electrical contact 👍
Agree with your idea Ian about using the unfixable stuff and having a bombed / cold war / post-apocalyptic section in your layout. Don't forget a ROTOR bunker too!
The carriage looked like a track cleaner. It would clean all the carbon off your tracks. Keeping them smooth and polished. A trains set I had Had. A little Emery pad. That you rubbed around the track to make a good contact. It was like a little sharpening Stone. I can. Remember the cardboard buildings. In the 1970s. You would get great big packs of them our just one or two buildings happy times
Hi mate I've just got back into model railway and I've invested heavily into DCC sound fitted locos I'll tell you what mate if you can afford to do that I would suggest you do because the sound that comes off the locos now is just amazing
gees what a haul! excellent. i think you should set up the tracks and set up the buildings( as they are) and then start to renovate building by building. otherwise , im sure it will never get to a set up stage. long as you have room to set it up!!!!!!
Hello Ian, brilliant buy there and some are quite rare. The cardboard buildings look like Metcalfe kits to me and I find they are brilliant models. Plus I find the scales are great to work alongside oo gauge. The small yellowish building with the green door you showed near the end of the video is designed to fit over your point motors. Enjoy and have fun

You're never too old for trains!

Another great video can't wait to see the finished layout
A man after my own heart.

The taller control room looks like a swing bridge control room which would also have control of the protecting signal for the up and down lines.
Ian great video love all your work and history you cover in some videos on ww2 hope your well and good fela and the team ;)

It's a mobile stick of dynamite used to explode old layout buildings for easy removal.
Nice little find there fella ! Im no expert but some of that stuff could be very rare ! Best of luck with it 😊
They are not control buildings but signal boxes. Enjoy.

The wagon is a Sharge track cleaning wagon. There are several TH-cam videos about them.
Wow old school miniature lighting. I love it! Is the ´train station control room’ a 1930’s era signal box? Looks a great haul Sir :D
Miniture buildings and trains are a good time
