Also let's make the distinction between a peacemaker and a peace keeper. One settles the contention and the other just goes along quietly without causing a fuss.
I actually did this recently, last Friday someone in my class was having a bad day and I never spoken or met this person, but I'm a really nervous person but I felt prompted to talk to her and see how she was doing, and we spoke tho and it felt good to see how this person was doing. That's why I love this video and the message it has

It is easier to be a "peace maker" when you are dealing with individuals that you like and care about. The hard part is being a peace maker to those who are difficult and irritating. Individuals that you don't want to be around. I need to do better. 😟
I would recommend everyone study examples of peacemakers in the BoM. Nephi, Mosiah, King Benjamin, Abinadi, Alma, Amulek, Aaron, CPT Moroni, Helaman, Nephi, etc They follow the prophet's council: "Real love for the sinner may compel courageous confrontation-not acquiescence! Real love does not support self-destructing behavior." - Teach Us Tolerance and Love, by Russell M Nelson
How is Jesus's admonition to be peacemakers reconciled with his righteous indignation, overturning the tables of the moneychangers in the temple? Or His soon return in judgment and wrath against the wicked? Are we to turn the other cheek in the face of wicked demands and simply comply? How does this relate to Captain Moroni's rebuke of traitors in his country? Should he have turned the other cheek? How could he have been Christ-like? How is this apparent contradiction reconciled, Pres. Nelson?
I love the message. It's spot on. However, I question if in fact, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, is walking their talk entirely. As I know President Oaks will in the near future, likely be the next President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I look to his leadership and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints stance on so many topics requiring a peacemaker mindset. That said...I am questioning whether fasting and prayer are involved with various decisions being made of late. As I said before...I love the message. I'm just in question about those who LBE... Lead by Example. For example...How peacemaker-ish is insisting that a certain temple in Texas have a certain height and using enforcement tactics to insist it be that way? How is that being a "Peacemaker"? My personal thoughts Be Thou Humble And think... Think Win Win ❤️ ❤
No one is "Insisting" they are using the lawfully allowed system available to everyone to appeal a decision. Once that process is gone through, then they will either change the plans, move the temple or be allowed to put the spire to the height they desire. Do you feel that somehow the rights of the church are less than everyone else's rights? Win/Win is wonderful when both sides get what they want, but often Win/Win in reality is win/loose wrapped up in pretty paper.
Gods ways are not our ways. Just trust. 😊 maybe that’s how the Lord wants it! Maybe He wants it to stand as a physical beacon as well ❤ Pres Oaks is very dignified and polite and is considerate as he follows direction to have it done this way. Remember they just do what the Lord tells them to do! Oftentimes what the Lord has us do isn’t easy. Thanks be to God for prophets who take the road less traveled and do for the Lord and thus His children all their life and don’t weary by the way. Publishers of Peace- no fear to spread the good news because they have experienced Him and want to share!! That’s all that’s being done with the temple 😊 We support and sustain whatever it is even if we “don’t like the broccoli “ 😊 but it’s good for us! We often don’t understand the Lord’s ways - but we still follow Him in faith and trust and understanding comes ❤

Indeed, blessed are the peacemakers. But this does not equate to "blessed are those who acquiesce in the face of evil."
Did Russell M Nelson ask how that applies to him and not just everyone else?
How is Jesus's admonition to be peacemakers reconciled with his righteous indignation, overturning the tables of the moneychangers in the temple? Or His soon return in judgment and wrath against the wicked? Are we to turn the other cheek in the face of wicked demands and simply comply? How does this relate to Captain Moroni's rebuke of traitors in his country? Should he have turned the other cheek? How could he have been Christ-like? If you don't want the prophet's council then you could study the results of those situations to determine your reactions.

I'm not sure what your question is directed at. It doesn't sound like proper appeals are being made or addressed in your area.
