The easiest and fastest way to get into these big companies (or any company) is always connections. I am close to finishing my Associate degree from a local tech school in software dev. This video reminds me so much of the resilience mentorship I had with Microsoft when I started. It's almost nostalgic, and heartwarming to see the whole company embraces the growth mindset they were teaching. The imposter syndrome is hitting hard as I start my job search and get interview experience - I really needed this reminder. ♥ Changing careers is hard!

Hello! I am also studying an associate degree in a local school of my country. They even have internship positions with Microsoft (I can't access to them because they're available in other city). I just wanted to ask you if there's a possibility to get hired just by having an associate degree, because I always see positions for more advanced degrees on their careers page.

I've been in the tech industry as software engineer for 20+ years. Anyone that asks leetcode is lazy and doesn't know how to find good engineers. In the past, when I interview people, I focus on problem solving. I give them an example of the type of problems they will be asked to solve and the candidate to talk through it.

    • @taibui8038

I'm much younger than you but I think for a giant like Microsoft does need to test leetcode. Of course it's not practical but it does help filter out the slow thinkers. People with high IQ can adopt and use any technology very quickly.

@@taibui8038Leetcode shouldn't be a thing period in any giant companies.
If you have a high IQ (you don't from reading that comment) then you know Leetcode is available to the world meaning anyone can access it. So, I can make a company and brainwash young minded students like you lol to practice leetcode problems everyday just to pay them in minimum wage better than working at a fast-food industry.
When a interview is ready, my students are prepared and passed the interview.
In return, I want 25% of their Microsoft salary and the company secrets 🤌
But they're exactly companies does this today... Like communism countries...
So... Leetcode shouldn't exist and it's just going to get worse each year for CS students and unversity/college...
Most high IQ people will find a way to make serious money from making a software or a product so they're can retired early in life than being in a dead end job.
They'll only need a good idea, concept, and most importantly time...
