it was more of a gear check, i remember i had some epic pvp items and tier3... i took down 2 lesser equipped hunters at the same time while i didn't even hit 50% health.
How was it imbalanced? I do a lot of vanilla PvP and every class has a viable spec that does well. It's a lot of fun. I also like how it's easier to die and how the classes are all very unique and differentiated.

Yes, you dont always get huge windfury procs or windfury procs at all but you can still kill people with your shocks, auto attacks, and fire totems. Some classes were tough as nails to beat as an enhance shaman of course but every class had their counters in vanilla.

WF is 20% chance to proc. Only 1 of 5 strikes. Have a 0.5 GCD. Procs from SS. SS is 20 sec CD and cost much mana. So 1 time of 20 sec you have a chance to proc WF up to 40% if you use SS with a delay. HWL wep have 3.8 AS ~16 strikes per min. From autos it will be ~3 procs per minute. With SS total proc will be ~4 per minute. WF procs like SS can be dodged, missed, parried and blocked. WF procs is physical damage. SS is physical damage as well. Elemental shaman in blue gear will be far better tnan this HWL Ench.

This is how old vanilla videos were. This guy is very skilled even if his opponents arent on his level. His movement is great, no back peddling, he uses keybinds, not a clicker. It's more than that as I stated but those are clear indications of a baddie. His movement is a big part of it. You can tell a good player from a bad one pretty easy. I'm a 2100+ player, I know the difference.

They did it to even out their burst in pve so they could put out decent dps without omgwtfwindfurycritting on the first hit and pulling the boss. 2h enh was still possible in tbc, it was just suboptimal in pve.

Man best times of my time on WoW was playing as an Arms/Fury warrior teaming up with my Enhance shaman buddy slaughtering everyone we came across. We would own Blackrock Mountain for hours at a time.
21k kills for rank 14 when in reality it took me 112k kills and every single rank 14 of either faction at least 90k kills to reach it. Emulated server maybe, not true vanilla footage
Tbc is vanilla with expanded abilities, new talents and rebalanced a lot. Combines fixed great vanilla slower (not all about push ur attack/selfheal/burst short cds/burst long cds/ defensive cds like it is in legion and bfa nowadays) gameplay, some abilities abuse with much better balanced classes and with a matter of positioning in arena and right or/and long lasting battles which include very carefully executed tactics to get some ratings) for me tbc is the best version of wow
wow, enhancement shamans basic attacks really hit like a wet noodle back in the day, only the shocks and WF did any dmg at all, like a winfury proc without crits is same dmg as a no crit frostbolt xD

1000 HKs a week...I needed that a day to get into the top 10 in a medium pop server, it equaled to about a million honor a week and 100k to 300k hks wasn't unreal. But I do remember seeing smaller pve servers when cross relams first started with HWLs with less then this...and having rank 7s ranging over them for having more.
hitting rank 14 with 303k honor jeez.. I had to pull between 1.4 and 1.6 mill honor for 4 weeks straight to hit 14 on my enh sham competing against account sharers
