    Hi all. Your project is moving forward at a snail’s pace. Guess that is to be expected with moving camera around and Ken’s drive for perfection.
    A couple questions.
    1 rainwater collection cistern system in the plan?
    2 lower ceiling over shop area too lessen volume to heat?
    3 plans for ventilation and installation? Both walls and ceiling?
    4 electrical equipment storage room? Ventilation?
    Nice to see Gina back in videos. 0:12
    Good luck.

    Its odd how a space seems to shrink on a concrete pad-foundation once the walls and roof go on even though not much changed. Indeed when the drywall goes up a room often feels far smaller and even more so when furnishings go in feels like half its size is often why homes being sold are nearly emptied out..👾

    Yup, those kickers were exactly what you needed for extra snow load and gable blow out in high winds. Excellent work kids. Depending on prevailing winds in the area, tying the interior walls into the foot of the trusses with a few additional cables w/saddle clamps, like every 4 trusses, are a good supplement to the hurricane bracing~

    So funny about the pigs and chickens with milk. Our experience is the opposite -- the pigs love the milk but the chickens don't. Since we don't always have pigs but always have extra milk, I found a way to use it for the chickens. I heat it up on the stove until hot and add vinegar until it makes curds. My chickens LOVE those curds! Maybe that would work for the pigs?
    Another tip if you decide to try this -- make sure to portion the curds so that they don't freeze up into a solid mass this winter, lol. We're in Maine and, as you know, those blocks of curds stay frozen until SPRING!

    If the pigs don't like raw milk, you can try giving them fermented milk: put the raw milk in some jars or pots, leave it like that for 2-3 days at room temperature, take the cream that separates on top (you also can give the cream to the pigs but I think the cream is too good for you to give it to the pigs :)) and give the rest to the pigs - it might be that they will love the milk in this form.

    • @zeviono4562
      @zeviono4562 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I was thinking that too. Used to be that every small dairy farm had pigs too, to drink the leftover milk after the cream was seperated from it. They say the bacon from the pigs was the best..

    I am completing a project putting up a handrail on our front precast steps. I had to get some bits for drilling concrete using a hammer drill. Would anyone like to venture a guess as to which drill bits I ended up buying at one of our tool stores in Calgary? . . . The answer is . . . Milwaukee! (By the way, our precast steps are over 50 years old. Using water with the proper tools, the concrete drilled almost like going through cheese. . . . almost. 😊 )

    • @CCRider5312

      I started to say Milwaukee before I read it 😂

    • @CCRider5312

      Did you buy carbide drill bits or diamond 💎 tip ? The Carbide are great with water but Diamond 💎 tip are better. No water 💦 required with diamond tip Bits and Blades but they’re a lot more expensive.

    • @rdyardie
      @rdyardie ปีที่แล้ว

      I bought the Milwaukee 48-20-9021 Shockwave Impact Duty 3/8" Carbide Hammer Drill Bit for concrete. I am not a contractor. The clerk made sure that I was buying the proper bit.

    • @StoneKathryn
      @StoneKathryn ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rdyardie I was thinking masonry bit but maybe the diamond tip bit works well for drilling concrete too. I had to rent a hammer drill and use masonry bits to hang my drape rods up in an apartment I rented. It was an old apartment and the walls were very hard to drill into. I'm glad you could put up rails for your steps. Have a great weekend.

    Looking good, that’s a fine looking building. Have you considered adding fans to the gable end without doors? It might help with moisture and give you a nice breeze by the garage doors in the summer.

    • @tonygrimes13

    Try soaking a scoop of feed in a couple cups of milk and see if the pigs will eat it that way. If they don’t like it it is only one scoop instead of a whole bucket full & chickens will eat it so no waste. Is strange your pigs don’t go for the milk. They usually will drink it up then eat the feed that was in the milk. If the milk is souring they may not like that.
    Shop is coming along nicely. Ken and his crew always do an excellent job on all their projects. Ken is 70 years old, in great shape and still climbing ladders & roof stringers like he’s walking on solid ground.

    Good morning Lumnah family from a beautiful day in Minnesota. Good morning to viewers too. It's nice to see the bracing between the trusses. Too bad the DeWalt just stopped working. Good thing Ken can use the Milwaukee. Only 4 more sheets each side! This is so exciting! I liked Gina's whoo woo! Ken is amazing on that roof! I'm so glad the roof metal spacing worked out perfect! The shots from inside are nice. That looks soooo good! Ridge cap on too! Moving on to soffits. Putting j-track up on the rakes. Cool, Ken gets to use that DeWalt roofing nail gun! So many toys Al! Covering the gable ends you said the magic word Al, "Perfect!" You and Ken make a good team finishing the gable end. Chad and Dan did a great job finishing that corner and getting the corner on. They also did a great job getting the j-track on and getting the soffit pieces on and more cut too. Great progress guys! Thanks for this video Lumnah family!

I was also thinking the big guy in the dayglow t-shirt might be Ken's mini-me🤣🤔and you were going to foam in insulate because it is fast and becomes structural reinforcement too. 👍

    Justin Rhodes gives them the skim after the cream is separated. I think he mixes it with something. I’ve seen other people give a little oat meal. Maybe that mixed with the skim they will like. Just a suggestion that I’ve seen others do. I’m so glad you have Ken and his team helping you. It’s going up so fast and it really helps you get things done before winter starts. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
