I just saw this movie. It is amazing. The love of a mother for their children is so powerful. Really comes to show that when "guys" think women are drama queens, this movie really shows that its the "drama" queens that resolve things. Powerful movie.
I cannot wait to watch this movie, I visited Lebanon in 2010. Beautiful country, beautiful welcoming people, and amazing food! I had so much fun. In Iraq it was the same, Christians and Muslims living together peacefully, sadly not anymore. Peace.
every country is beautiful when a persons only purpose is to party and eat and live in places where the electricity is always running with no water shut downs
a very beautiful movie with a very beautiful message. it is true that sometimes its better not to follow any religion. it is heartbreaking to see people fighting one another just because of their religion. i feel really sad. I am a christian but i have a heart for the muslim..i dunno why. but i pray that all people in this world will have kindness in their heart...
it made me laugh and cry from the heart, it touched the depths of my soul ... hope all understand the profound message of this film !!! Nadine is amazing and incredibly talented
Same here! But i'm muslim and my father lived in a village in lebanon where he was surrounded by christians and it really helped cause now he's open-minded and is against everything that's happening in the middle east. I believe in God , not in religion .
i come from a country war-torn because of differences in religion (christians and muslims) so this looks like a movie that i could understand and appreciate.
I LOVED "Caramel" and I was excited to see a review of this film in our paper today (Australia). The two words "Nadine Labaki" caught my eye :) I can't wait to see this film!
i'm only 2 months late .. i watched this movie in Qatar in the Doha Tribeca Film Festival, i believe its one of the very few Arabic movies that I watched and has a message in them .. totally worth watching
I'm Christian but my parents were born in a country where 96% of the population is muslim and 4% are other religions, I'd really like to see this movie
So inspiring, WELL done Nadine. With your acting, ingenious writing you always manage to bring up on the big screen the day to day society' struggle with BRIO. Although impossible, there is a bit of truth in every story, the dream of every Lebanese. I watched the movie in Arabic; which I don't master quite well, but it brought back many memories of Lebanon and it's society; yet with sorrow and tears (mixed with few laughs). Keep up the good work Nadine. An Oscar winner in MY eyes....
Just saw is today and the movie was awesome! There was drama, sadness and comedy. If you don't like reading subtitles them this movie is not for you. But for me....I'd watch it again.
Hate can only bring Hate.. I hope we could forgive each other and put on the side religions, race, even history itself and try living our short life with respect, love and kindness. I know.. when you lose your loved one thats an impossible thing to do or even imagine but its for our own sake .. and by saying ''our'' I don't mean only the selfish ego oriented way but i mean every single one of us.
Pan's Labyrinth is a good film, if you get it make sure you get it with subtitles cause it's in spanish. The film is a mature-adult take on the children's film, Labyrinth (1986). The actors play their roles excellently, and if you don't mind a bit of blood and cruelty this movie is just awesome.
Haha I love this film! Me and my uncle had just runned around singing do you love my by bendaly family, then we watched this, and when the song came on, we just went crazy haha! but great movie
Your words make me very happy. :-) Thank you a lot. Seriously, they mean a lot to me... You can imagine I was twice as angry with him since I am greek too... >:-(

good
The only message we can see is that there is always a way for a woman to convert, in order to marry a muslim. That's sickening !
it made me laugh and cry from the heart, it touched the depths of my soul ...
hope all understand the profound message of this film !!!
Nadine is amazing and incredibly talented
