I knew you were in Pittsburgh by the end of the first sentence...lol. Great job! I have a china cabinet that I need to move from Pgh to Idaho and thinking of DIY--so this was REALLY helpful. Do you guys transport to Idaho?
I didn't realize my Pittsburgh accent stuck out that much. 😂 Yes we can help transport to idaho, if for some reason we cannot, we can point you in the right direction. You can call office at 412-241-2101. Thanks for watching! 🙂
Good job but the only thing i would have done different was to put fill the cabinet with cushions and pillows. And if the shipment was long haul going over the road, I would have left the cardboard on the outside with glass written on it so that the movers at destination will know it's a glass on the furniture.
If this shipment was not being handled by the same crew and driver who loaded it, we would have left the cardboard on the out side. Because it is the same crew who packed and loaded the truck, they know exactly what is on the truck and how it is loaded. If you're going to storage or using a different crew to unload the truck, leaving the cardboard on the outside is the correct thing to do.
one improvement, you sholud wrap with foil from bottom to the top, like a roof tile effect, to prevent water seepage in case when its raining outside :)
Yes, you can absolutely do that. However, furniture should never exposed to the elements for any longer that absolutely necessary to cary it from the house into the moving truck and vice versa. If it is raining hard, we recommend taking a break until the rain lightens up. We recommend this because carrying furniture in the rain can be dangerous, and the risk of damage to furniture and injury to the mover can go up. Morale of the story is, wait out the rain if you can! 🙂
Hello, the "moving pad" is standard equipment found on every song moving truck that we own and operate. If you need one for yourself I've linked it here for you: Blue Moving Blanket - 72" x 80" amzn.to/3XBepo0
If the mirror is loose, it will need to be removed and packed the same way we show how to pack pictures. If it is fixed to the inside and cannot be removed, it should be fine as is, but you can always place a moving pad inside to insure it stays in place.
I just got a job with a moving company and they said if I know how to wrap then I’ll get a raise so thank you my good sir

Thanks! 🙏💪
What about a glass front cabinet with a mirror on the inside?
