    The car in the thumbnail that you asked us to make a remark about is either a 1970 or '71 Chrysler Newport or New Yorker that was customized to hide the wheels and removed the grill to install headlights across the front of the car .

      1970 Chrysler New Yorker by Beni Bischof. He did a lot of graphic hover car designs. Not sure if any were ever really built.

    I've had my 3 wheel Isetta for 35 years. Love it. They all have reverse gear. So 16 year olds in UK could drive them reverse had a clip to prevent selecting reverse to comply with the law. As soon as the 16 year old got it home, off came the clip.

      @@navret1707Wonderful! I know the son of the Isetta dealer in LA in the late '50's. I wonder if he might have bought it there? Only 4 wheelers built in Germany made it to the US. Canada had the UK Brighton built 4 wheel version.

    There is some misinformation about the BMW Isetta. There were only about 1500 of the three-wheel version as an export model...and the Isettas had 4 gears (unsynchronized, shift lever on the left) and of course a reverse gear. I drove several of them. One could overcome also larger gradients with it problem-free! The top speed was after all about 90km/h (about 55mph), which was at least the maximum speed allowed in the USA in the past!
    All in all: It was a really great little car, which was also very economical!

    The weird car that I haven't seen much of is the Dymaxion by Buckminster Fuller. There were things that made sense about it, though the single rear wheel steering might not, and it's an interesting thing from an interesting person. Also, Lyndon B. Johnson, the guy who succeeded John F. Kennedy as President, also owned an amphicar. When I was ten or twelve or so, my grandparents took me to see LBJ's home and there was an amphicar sitting in the garage. It's said that he took unsuspecting guests for rides and aimed straight at the water on his ranch. The guy was a dick but at least he had interesting tastes in cars.

    Admittedly some of the cars shown I didn't care for one bit like those sardine can ones,but there were 3 that I would love to own and they are The Boaterhome,that just looked cool as hell.Next is that Hottub Cadillac,how freaking awesome would it be to drive a hot tub while chilling to the waterjets massaging your body,also talk about a Major Babe Magnet,drive up and ask any Hot Girl if she wants to relax in your Hot Tub that also doubles as a vehicle.
    The last is the absolute most ridiculous but also the most unique and therefore the best is the Banana Car, I mean honestly that almost bordered on idiocy but like they say "There is a fine line between Genius and Insanity" and this was exactly in the middle.So my comps go out to the owner who built this,you are Beyond Cool.

    Alright, I'm gonna say it. Most concept cars are just fucking stupid! High profile auto manufacturers have way too much money burning a hole in their pocket and love pouring millions into unrealistic ideas that will never reach production. It's more of a pursuit to wow consumers with seemingly futuristic design, but so impractical. Imagine the production and maintenance costs on some of these. Cheaper getting a heart transplant.

  • @rogerthat10-47
    @rogerthat10-47 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    #14 Obviously you have never driven one, although you are making it sound like you have, you cannot "Critique" a car going off what "Someone Else" has written about it & trying to pass that off as your own, these things are suprizingly fun to drive especialy the 4 wheelers, & when they first came out they were not that much slower than the avage car,around town the 3 wheelers were extreamly popular with motorcycle riders in Europe & the UK because they could be driven by those that only had a motorcycle licence, this suited them because it gave better protection in the winter, cost the same to tax as a motorbike & sidecar & they didn't have to pay for, or sit a driving test. If it wasn't for the "Mini" these things would have taken over every town & city in the UK at one point.
