Coupe-styled SUVs are the worst imo. It’s like: I want to have everything at once but you actually got nothing you seek. (for reference: BMW X4, MB GLE Coupe, Audi Q4 Sportback…) I don’t understand how they are so popular
People tend to think larger vehicles are safer, even though the typically aren't. I'm a trucker. I an tell you with full confidence that smaller vehicles, with well designed crash structure are the safest. Too small, or light, and you could suffer a rapid decel at he end of the structure. Too heavy, and the crash structure is too stiff and won't absorb enough of the impact. Just right, and you can walk away from some of the insanity I've seen on TH-cam lately. I've seen so many accidents where the SUV is still fully in tact, but the car is mangled, but there's paramedics gathered around the SUV, and the guy from the car is walking around fine.
Surely the worst sort of vehicle is the Crossover SUV? I mean I have respect for off-road vehicles like the Jeep Cherokees, Range Rovers and G-Wagens, and while they are appallingly common in cities where they don't belong, in the actual countryside settings they are designed to deal with, they are in their element and show their strengths, and I don't feel right hating the car because the driver is a tool and chose entirely the wrong car for their environment. But a crossover SUV, like that tragic Alfa Romeo Stelvio...whoever bought that literally walked past a Giulia, one of the best cars on the road right now, to get to the Stelvio, for some reason. Any crossover SUV looks like it wants desperately to be able to go off road but knows if it does it will instantly crumple and lose all traction, thanks to a monocoque, suspension setup and powertrain often designed to do little more than go to Tescos and back. A crossover SUV is objectively a worse vehicle than the car their platform is derived from - larger, heavier and therefore less aerodynamic or fuel efficient, and probably no safer, and with no more cargo capacity, and yet they are pushed because in the US they can class as light trucks and so the manufacturers can get tax breaks, and it's more cost effective to reduce the number of models worldwide, so they push these heinous things everywhere and sell us outright lies about safety and cheat fuel economy tests.

4:11 my grampa used to be a local Canadian stock car driver so now at almost 70 in his Chrysler Pacifica he go's 20 kmph faster then the speed limit so most of the time he's going 70 on smaller roads and 120 on highways kmph
I dont have a problem with offraod suvs, I actually love cars like the bronco, wrangler, defender etc, but I don't understand suvs made for the road like the urus, cayenne, rsq8 etc like just get a wagon instead like I would rather have an audi rs6 instead of the rsq8.
I drive a 2005 Suzuki XL-7 one of the last real rear wheel drive SUVs before everything went to crossovers and I just like driving larger vehicles I also do a lot of towing and our SUV does all of that with ease that little V6 sure has good power for what it is tbh
People who buy an SUV because they want to feel safe are probably also the only reason they don't feel safe. If you aren't a farmer, living in a very hilly place or older and really tall, there really isn't any need for an SUV. People who buy SUVs are down in the bottom tier of driving along with Peugeot drivers and people who buy a Honda Jazz.

What the Americans really need are hatchbacks, wagons and a set of prosthetic waist rotation for most of the drivers. These SUV driving menace sat in their seat and never bother to rotate their body to check for the traffic, and hang their SUV a mile into the main road to make a left turn. As a result, me in a compact car literally have to stand on the bonnet of my car and get an extension mirror to make a right turn.
SUVs are not that bad, except for the Lambo Urus. I prefer sedans, hatchbacks and wagons much more than SUVs but I still like them. It's crossovers I'm not quite a fan of such as the X4M coupe and its Merc rival.

SUV's, from an environmental perspective, are an absolute disgrace, and a massive sign of corporate disrespect. Cars can get the job done. They are better for the environment, the roads, and much better to drive. SUV's are supposed to be for soccer moms. Single dudes don't normally need them. Sports SUV's are great for dads. But I feel like they waste fuel and pollute, when you could have had a sports saloon instead. The only pollution metric they top is noise, and that's alright with me.
