Plus he wasn't even sure if the blade was going to snap or not. If it couldn't take a log, it wouldn't be able to handle the tests the judges had for it.
Well, it is actually probably frozen wood, it was below freezing where he was, and therefor the ice inside the wood would have freezed, making it actually very dangerous to an axe blade. Especially because he didnt go at an angle
@@calebnelson6796 indeed chopping wood that way will immediatly damage a bad weapon especiallly frozen wood
He litteraly says "the toughest test *_I_* could give it. He had all those logs, so he smacked them up. Also, birch is pretty solid
These are real men.
Determination.
Respect.
Hard work.
Wow, two perfect weapons. Sadly the better one was heavier.
It was "better" because it was heavier. In combat you could be at it for hours. If you cant lift your weapon after a few minutes youre as good as dead.
@@massey81 this one was decided on the arthritic shoulder of an old man.
power comes at a price
@@zaodedong9935 and you think every person in the battle was a young man?
@@massey81 true. I'd definitely rather have lighter.
First blacksmith: Its a bit heavy but the Judges can handle that...
Me: congrats on 2nd place mate.
At the moment I saw him laughing after seeing he's kill test
I knew karma was gonna hit him for that weight 😅
He's having way too much fun with the testing lol
Yaaaay perfect timing
Where are the wolf ???
Yeet.

The smile on his face while hes brutally stabbing a dummy to a pulp is oddly wholesome.
wholesome is not the word i would choose. Maybe 'terrifying'.
"Going to spend all day on Grindr then work on my shaft" 😉
The checkering mark gave his weapon though... it's amazing.
What do you do with all the weapons that are surrendered at the end of the show? Like when it’s the last 2 contestants
I luv the killing test
Swear that was tank abbott and the writer of GOT when first watched.
I always wait for the iconic line "iT wiLL kELLLL"🤣
“It’s hard to say who’s going to win.”
Famous last words of the smith with the heavier weapon.
“It’s hard to say who’s gonna win.”
Everyone in the comments: No, it isn’t.
Sounds about right.."Honey I want to go of for a couple of weeks and make swords and stuff." " All right as long as I get any money you win" ...."Of course dear"
Doug did not say "it will keel" he said "it will kill" like a normal person. Dissapointing
The slogan for this weapon should be "When you can't make up mind whether or not you want a mace or an axe why not just pick up one of these bad boys?" LOL
Send the judges to the Gym, a heavy weapon is not always a disqualification of a proper weapon. Especially when its obviously the most effective.
your not wrong, but they refer if they were in actual battle, imagine trying to kill over and over again.
@@dannycarrick7763 I am, if your a professional soldier (practicing & battling) with this chosen weapon, dont you think the guy would be a beast? I wouldn't wield this weapon if I couldn't crush skulls with 1 strike.
Yeah a little weight training is needed.
A weapon like that needs some mass to be effective, 1 strike, 1 keel🔨
Its obviously the most effective if you want to fight empty suits of armor. Against a target that moves, dodges and tries to hit you, that is another case.
@@andreyr3611 Well you can either dance around your opponent for 5 minutes with light weapon, or crush him with 1 blow in a second. Your choice :D
I'm dying of laughter every time he says "it will... *_K E E L_* "
I despise how everytime its a tight race, the heavier one automatically looses. Like bruh, this is a blunt weapon, the heavier weapon guy should of won how it did more damage
Crazy_Canuck_97 But weight really is a big issue when it comes to practicality.
Lmao, try to swing that thing a whole day to live and say it again.
@@castillorc If you swing it six times and "feel it in your arm" then the weapon is not meant to be used by you. Its an axe and a mace. It's not supposed to be used like a sword
@@jaxoncooper3354 but a warrior on a battlefield would need to swing it all day, and be fairly quick with their strikes to be able to deliver blows to multiple enemies before being overwhelmed. no matter how you swing it (no pun intended) a weapon that's too heavy is impractical
@@neverseemstoAsh An axe or mace that isn't heavy enough is impractical too. It's meant to be heavy
Instead of doubling the tube with a much thicker tube like Christopher did, inserting a wooden rod would have done the job just as well with much less weight. Then, he could have also quenched the shaft.
Dough tested Mark's weapon first and noted how light it was. That's the moment when Mark won. Only a catastrophic failure could have prevented him from wining.
(tabar) means axe and (shishpar) means six feathers. This is Persians farsi. Cool weapon that i haven't seen ever and i am Persian
They both are singular weapons on their own. Mix them together and boom! You have a tabar shishpar
This is indian Deccan Tabar not Persian
@@joaquimfurtado4868 you can call it any thing. But indians did not see this until After Emperor nader shah attack dehli in 1739 and easily defeated mughals.
@@rohanshirmard2485 lol Tabar is in india from 1711
For a reality tv about killing tools, it's the most wholesome of the bunch
“Shaft” 🥴
Love this show every time I see it
That's an overnight ain't it? The man creates a weapon to fit him and because he is a big man it works, but the moment a smaller man gets a hold of it they can't use it
sort of, but also heavier weapons are just harder to use in general. all of the judges are either master smiths, or incredibly skilled in combat; they're all used to swinging things about, and are therefore all fairly strong. it comes down to the fact that a heavy weapon is always going to be unwieldy due to the physics of it, not due to the strength of the user
Awesome!
3:41 toughest test you i can give it. go and hit rotten wood xD
don't want to accidentally break the whole thing before the actual testing you know.
Try jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge into the water. You'll be dead as the soft water acts like concrete. Also, it's the same reason why not all trees break in a storm. Sift doesn't mean its not strong. And has the studio tests show, the weapon stayed sharp and did not break.
god I love these
