Our Lord has called home another Great singer! My Father must be having a Big party up there now ..So many Great singers ,May You Rest In Peace Joe Diffie you will be missed but you and your music will live On !😢🙏🏽🙏🏽
GREAT, No one sing this song like He does, you have to be special, to have a voice, like joe does. So he's so special, He is, So HE"s singing for the Lord, now!!!!!😀😀😀😀😁😁
Diffe was absolutely great! But, equally are the great musicians behind him from Glen Worf on bass to Brent Mason on lead guitar, Eddie Bayers on drums to Paul Franklin on steel, to Wes and Marty on backing vocals and so on. These guys are the players that make George Strait, Alan Jackson, Easton Corbin and pretty much everybody's records in Nashville sound so great. Tip of the hat boys, you are the very best group of country musicians ever!!!
This is when country was great....Dude kills the ivory, crazy electric guitar, fun upbeat songs and amazing ballads why can't we get back to this the new stuff with the handful of exceptions is not real country.
countrygirl country musiclover actually not today’s country music is pop music. You have a country mouth on you. That don’t make you country sweetheart.
Gosh Damn!!!! Brent Mason is God on Guitar! He is the best Guitarist in the world! I thank God for all the hours of practice he put in to his awesome style of Country lead! I hate when people say he's gifted! He's not gifted at all!!! He worked hard! VERY hard to play as good as he does! Thousands and Thousands of hours of practice will always equal perfection! He defiantly earned his roll in country music and has laid some of the most iconic guitar leads in Country music history! I would say Johnny Hiland comes in 2nd! However, I believe he is just as good as Brent. However, he just don't get the recognition that Brent has. I hope to see Johnny get as recognized as Brent one day! However, Brent is still my Man! I could listen to him play all day! You earned your spot in country lead Brent! I would love to see Brent and Johnny have a guitar battle! Ughhh! That would be awesome!!!!
Lyrics:
Well in North Carolina, way back in the hills
Me and my old pappy had a hand in a still
We brewed white lightnin' 'til the sun went down
Then he'd fill him a jug and he'd pass it around
Mighty, mighty pleasin, pappy's corn squeezin'
Whshhhoooh . . . white lightnin'
(Chorus)
Well the "G" men "T" men revenuers, too
Searchin' for the place where he made his brew
They were looking, tryin to book him, but my pappy kept a-cookin'
Whshhhoooh . . . white lightnin'
Well I asked my old pappy why he called his brew
White lightnin' 'stead of mountain dew
I took a little sip and right away I knew
As my eyes bugged out and my face turned blue
Lightnin' started flashin' thunder started clashin'
Shhhoooh . . . white lightnin'
(Repeat chorus)
Well a city slicker came and he said "I'm tough"
I think I wanna taste that powerful stuff
He took one s-s-slug and drank it right down
And I heard him a moaning as he hit the ground
Mighty, mighty pleasin, pappy's corn squeezin'
Whshhhoooh . . . white lightnin'
(Repeat chorus)

@01praisethelord both recorded the classic in 59. I just chose to lay tribute to the Big Booper since it was the anniversary of his passing
