    The one fragrance of theirs I almost threw out a sample of, thinking 'meh', was 1889 Moulin Rouge. It struck me as a generic powdery iris. I am so glad I went back to it and paid more attention to it as the day wore on. It's NOT GENERIC. It's got...something addictive and moreish buried deep inside its character that sets it apart. For those who haven't tried it, it's a dusty sweet wood as well as sweet antique waxed wood mixed with unwashed old velvet theatre drapes, body heat, powder puffs and a dressing table filled with miscellaneous lipsticks and stage make up. In other words, they got the brief absolutely bang on and it smells exactly as the name would suggest. A very wearable, intelligent, understated fragrance if you like the smell of your great grandmother's antique make up case. Again, I almost wrote this one off. Lesson learned: always take time with a fragrance sample and go back to it at some point as our neurology, chemistry, tastes and sense of smell all do very peculiar things and distort things, play tricks on our perception. I wonder which fragrance YOU wrote off as a 'meh' but then went back to and fell wildly in love?

    I adore this house, I'm not a big fan of the "Not A Blue Bottle" fragrances which I've tried. The house has some wonderful bottles within their collections. Beautifully French, daring and a house which has expanded my taste in fragrance.

    HDP Rare Fedelis will tickle that fancy of a coffee note...it also has a cardamon note so leans into the territory of Turkish coffee 😂.
    Btw fun fact- Amouage Epic man is also based on Turandot as it's a old factory representation of a Arab spice market aka Shuk.
    Great work btw!

    This is a house I'm going to dive into. I have decants of 114, 1969 and another one and I love them. I don't use them often cause I don't want them to finish. I'm going to start collecting them. 1969 will be my first full bottle.

      same here:)) moreover, once I haul all my 2019 buys I'm starting a no-buy! I don't know if this is the worst decision ever, we'll see:)) I'm thinking that swaps and sell-to-buy will be allowed, otherwise i'll go crazy:))

    Oh! I think it's really good brand! I adore my Dame of Spades)) I've never seen Opera collection in travel size yet! 🧐 I need more operas!))))

      That one is quite complex for me, the black collection oddly was much easier to comprehend compared to opera series!

    I’ve never tried anything from this line. I’ve been obsessed with Imaginary Authors lately . But I’ll try some. But not this one, I don’t like the 1904 reviews on Fragrantica. Ppl say it’s mostly heliotrope and u can find much cheaper heliotrope frags to buy. I will look to try samples first. I never buy without sampling first. I already own over 120 bottles of Niche and some Deaigner frags and hundreds of decants of all sizes and more samples that I can ever use. All the Tom Ford samples I got a year ago have lost most of the scent. So yeah, ppl u must use up your samples and decants first. They don’t last. Once u get the juice out of its bottle and it’s exposed to light, the exp date is very short. It makes me sad that I have tons of barely used TF samples that have almost no scent left .

    Are the small 15ml bottles unscrewable or refillable?

    • @MariaMeliora
      @MariaMeliora  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are properly sealed, so no leakage, no spoiling or vaporizing ❤️

    • @GurcharanSinghhh

      @@MariaMeliora That's kind of a shame, because these bottles are beautiful, and you just don't want to throw them away. It's also a lot more environmentally conscious to have them be refillable.
