I got series 1! in India the difference is around 140 $ approx! so it was an obvious choice for me to go for series 1 as just waterproofing (against water resistant series 1) and GPS (which i use my iPhone for ) there is no reason to spend such extra cash on. Rather buy third party new extra bands for the 140 $ which i eventually did.
My wife got me a S1 Apple watch for my birthday today (12/18). It is not new, she bought it from a co-worker, but it looks brand new. I linked it to my iPhone and had it set to go in short order. After a little reading in the guide on some functions, i find it quite fun. I will need to read up on more functions it contains, obviously, but overall I am quite happy with it.

Im a nursing student so I use it during clinicals to remind me when I need to give medications or do certain tasks at certain times without having to whip out my phone in front of a patient or instructor.
An Apple Watch series 1 will still work with an iPhone x right? I might be upgrading my phone soon and want to make sure the series 1 will work with it.
