    What are you wiring in the steering column? I have the 6 pin, but the other end is also a 6 pin. There is no other place for ACC, so what am I wiring?

    • @OldeCarrGuy
      @OldeCarrGuy  ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a single small gage wire coming off the main harness. Theres a link to the wiring diagram in the description.

    I'm confused. I have a control module already mounted under the hood of my 2013 tundra for a electric trlr brake I'm guessing. Do I need a 2nd module for my mm2 fisher plow.

      The plow does operate on its own module!

    I thought some new pickups had an option for plow pre wiring.

      I think the GM 2500'S and up have that option.

    Electric plows are cool. I remember plowing with a 1970 Bronco with a hydraulic plow using a pump driven off the engine.

    Thank you for the video. I have the same harness that I just bought used and it seems the lights adapters are missing. Do you know how many connectors to the head lights and turn signals are they?

      I did and made sure I sealed all connections with grease to keep the water out!

    I bought a fisher minute mount 1 and wiring harness from a buddy ('16 F250), and am installing it on an 08 dodge 2500 diesel. I keep hearing about the light hookup. I've heard about hardwiring the lights, or buying headlight adapters (?). The wiring harness is only 2 years old, and dont want to buy a new one. Also not sure if they take the same bulbs or not. Any ideas? First time installing (or attempting to anyway) a wiring harness

    • @OldeCarrGuy
      @OldeCarrGuy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for reaching out! So the headlight harnesses are generally specific to the style of bulb your truck takes (H11, H7, H1 etc). They do this for ease of installation. You can hardwire to save the expense of a new harness, however you may run into haven your plow lights and truck headlights being on at the same time. In an older dodge, you may be ok but it’s worth trying. Your other option is to search ebay or kijiji for the proper harness. Hope this helps and hope to see you watching and commenting on some of my other videos!

    Awesome video! I've got an 02 GMC with a MM2 plow that has fallen apart. The truck is junk but the plow is great. I'd like to mount it on my 2010 F150. Will the truck side wiring and electrical components ( I know I'll need new headlight harnesses) work? Is-are the control-power module brand specific or is it plug and play because it's made universally from Fisher?

    • @OldeCarrGuy
      @OldeCarrGuy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      As a rule, it should be plug and play. You are correct on the headlight harness although you could hardwire (pain in the butt).

    Thanks for the video. I have a 2011 f150 also and wanted to put a plow on it. I went to a few installers and they said it can't be done because of the electronic steering. Have you found any issues with it?

    • @OldeCarrGuy
      @OldeCarrGuy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We have plowed with it for 2 winters here in Canada and no issues while plowing so far.

  • @coreyhills9368

    Hi Jason, Have a 2011 f150 as well and they said it was dangerous to run an electric plow on it because it has an electric power steering unit on it. Was wondering if you had any problems with this truck with the electric plow. Or if your 2011 has the electric steering unit?
    Thanks,
    Corey

    • @OldeCarrGuy
      @OldeCarrGuy  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Corey. I haven't experienced any issues as of yet. I do know that they didn't recommend them on the EcoBoost due to blocking the intercooler though. Time will tell.

    Nice job bud. That looks easier than I thought it would. How hard is it to install the mounts on the truck for the plow

    • @OldeCarrGuy
      @OldeCarrGuy  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Generally this would have been a very simple process except we used the mounts from a 2006 F-150 so there was a slight modification that had to be made by drilling one extra hole on each side. It was much easier to do that then she'll out the $500 for the exact fit. They came with the used plow when we bought it.

    This was an awesome video and so much fun to watch I was dreading the thought of installing a plow harness on my tundra but now im excited and eager to get started! Thanks for walking us through how it was done here. the only way this video could have been better is if you acually showed us the plow in operation aferwords and verifying that it all works but this was very cool!
