    There were several layers you peeled back there and repaired. In doing so, you've raised a very important issue with older cars...unless there is someone that cares and has the skills, this kind of rot can be missed quite easily (especially if someone with less scruples applied bog on cardboard and painted) and the vehicle gets registered in quite an unsafe state. I guess it helps create that crush zone that new cars have designed in ;)
    On another topic, your fabrication skills are first rate even when constraints reduce your standards!

    What a mission as per usual. But good to see the old girls on the road again. The ending sounds like my shed on a good day lol. 😆

    Your fabrication skills are off the scale mate. Even knowing that all that hard work is hidden from view you don't cut corners. Considering the rusty mess you uncovered on the drivers side I think the finished job was amazing. Regards from Wales UK.

    Thanks Micheal for sharing the repair work on this old ute.
    Like watching how different folks look at repairing certain items on older vehicles. Looks handy to have a shrinker/stretcher.

    Excellent job as usual. Most people would have just taken it to the wreckers.

    • @victorbitter583
      @victorbitter583 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's worth more than the wreckers would pay, even in it's non repaired condition.

      @@victorbitter583 The wreckers up here would only give you $50. Unfortunately most people lean that way. To buy the parts back though is a different story, it will cost you that much just to buy back the wipers.

      That's okay Vic. It's a shame that all the knowledge that some people have here in Australia cannot be taught to students in school instead of all the mindless nonsense they are taught today. Australia of the past produced some of the best inventions that changed the world. The combine harvester being one example.

    Well done once again Michael. As an XB owner long ago, Im surprised that there is any solid metal left as rust set when still quite new. Impressed.

    I used to do some “rustoration” 40 years ago. I can truly appreciate the work you do and the time involved. Also I think your channel portrays what can be done in a home shop with some basic tools and skill level. I’ll be watching and thanks for the videos.

    Love your work , you make it look so easy, Wish This video was on last year , when I did the same exploration on my xa coupe , I removed the whole top fire wall from the join behind motor and yes she was full of rust both sides , I fell sorry for someone who has spent over $100,000 on xa xb GT and has no idea how rusted it is behind there , wouldn't buy one ($100k +) unless this area has been opened up and have proof it has been repaired, great work looking forward to the next video, cheers mate 👍
