Bon voyage season 1 was actually filmed back in May 2016 so it's not in September during JK's birthday. I just searched when does south korea celebrate their coming-of-age ceremony and it said that they celebrate it on the 3rd Monday of May when they turned 20 that year (SK used to count age differently but they got rid of that system just recently). In korean age, JK turned 20 in 2016 but in international age, he's just 18 turning 19 on September that year
I’d pick Jin. He’s a good driver, can help with cooking and seems willing to just wander around taking his time. Also, he always finds ice cream and good food.

Watching all their Bon Voyage series made me love them more as humans. Weverse has all the contents, best quality of course but it’s paid content. I’m sure ARMYs can hook you up with the best channels.
Oh and I just came back from Japan and it was a 10 hour flight.

13:22 Hi Martin, I’m from Colombia but I live in US. I have traveled to many countries, but definitely my favorite vacation was three weeks in Egypt! It was AWESOME, we went to all majestic temples,Abu Simbel, flew in a ballon over the valley of the kings, cruise the Nile river, going inside the pyramid was something I will never forget!
As for your questions.....I have been to each of these countries, just for one day each because it was part of a cruise. All of these countries were beautiful and unique. My favourite ever vacation was Santorini in the Greek Islands. I am Canadian ARMY (now living in Spain). My favourite part about Bon Voyage is that BigHit had them try to experience some adventures that other young people their age might do. Because they had been working since they were so young, they had always had managers handling all the details (like arranging transportation, handling airport checkins etc). This gave them the opportunity to learn some life skills that they missed out on (while conquering the world in other ways). I love this for them. Thanks for reacting. RM snored big time (he since had some nasal surgery to help the problem), that's why no one wanted to room with him.

JK. He can split the driving and I’m great with directions so I have that covered, if something broke down he’d be helpful to me when it came to fixing it, he cooks well and can move any bugs
From Philippines to US is 16 hours. We did a 2 hour stop over in Seoul, Korea. Turbulence over Japan was horrible. From Korea, next stop was Seattle then to Los Angeles.

Which member to travel with? My answer would be different then from now. Back then, they were SO sheltered, with their managers handling all their daily schedules and logistics, and they had no experience traveling or doing, well... a lot of things that normal young adults learn to do. They were so clueless. 🤣
With that logic, my picks back then would be Jin or Suga, since they were the only two who had done any real adulting before signing their souls over to the company. They were by far the two most practical and competent members at this time. J-hope kinda fits this category too.
RM, Jimin, or V would provide great companionship, but not much help. It would be a hot mess. 😂
JK was a bit more sullen at this age (he was just 18 by western standards), and was pretty unenthusiastic about sightseeing. He would be one of my top choices now but back then, I'm not so sure, lol. I don't have the energy to drag someone around who's not into it.

Favourite place I've visited is Tokyo, I instantly wanted to move there forever. Its so pretty and clean and the trains run on time (I'm European, this blew my mind lmao).

You should definitely check out ARMYs birthday projects for the members. It's really amazing! I've seen other TH-camrs cook members favorite food in celebration of their birthdays with cake or an activity the guys like. Do whatever you wanna do to celebrate the guys birthdays. Lots of ARMYs bake, do art projects etc. 💜
My fav vacay destination is Rio de Janeiro always.

I’m American and have visited Norway and Sweden but not Finland. Both countries are absolutely beautiful with many natural wonders (as you’ll see in Bon Voyage). They are expensive but I would return. I would choose RM as a traveling companion because he likes nature, museums, and food. He also reads up on places he visits so I would learn about the country and culture and history.

All Koreans get 1 year older the 1 january, so J.K was 20 allready the 1 january 2016 even when his birthday is 1 september
I would choose Namjoon for the daytime to go to Artmuseums, enjoy nature etc. For Nighttime I would choose Yoongi. The man can cook and I want to drink my glass of wine while watching him cook en have meaningful conversations with him.
I live in the Netherlands and I went to Finland, Poland, Turkey, a lot of greek Islands, Italy, France, Germany, Belgium, Austria, Swiss etc. But my favorite vacation of all time was South Korea (so that was a 13 hour flight)!!! Absolutly loved it and I higly recommend it!!
PS. I love to go watch all the BV seasons again with you, you are definitly in my top 3 favorite reactors!
I've been to Peru to India and so many countries in between. But my favorite vacation was Costa Rica. Family vacation, and we took the grandparents too. We had a blast. My sons loved it because the drinking age was 18. Hmmm too many stories with that. 💜
To celebrate the members’ birthdays you could definitely buy or bake a cake, but it’d be a waste to have it thrown in your face (as you suggested). 🤣 You could instead dedicate a week to reacting to that member’s Chapter 2 solo work (album reviews, MVs, live performances/concerts, any applicable documentaries), personality videos (vlogs, livestreams, fan compilations), etc. Feel free to conduct a poll for recommendations.

@@_LVLUP_ When I can't find the BTS videos I'm looking for on YT I will go to a site called 'Daily Motion'. There's a lot of stuff like Bon Voyage and In The Soup and so on that are difficult to put elsewhere.
My longest plane ride was about 12 hours, but we sat on the tarmac the first two hours.
My favorite country so far to traveled to is Swizerland and Japan, both are having magnifition view, I’m going together with my husband and around east Europe and 3 big city in Japan by ourself not using tour, the best way to enjoy ourself and get lost together

Hey there I just wanted to make sure you know be careful despite what people say you should pause a little bit more because you don't want to get copyrighted
I've done a 15 hour flight and honestly, it's easier to me than a 5-6 hour. You just kind of accept that you live there for a long time so you don't quite do the same kind of are we there yet. I've traveled a lot and love different places for different reasons. My favorite in the US is absolutely Alaska. Just gorgeous and peaceful. My favorite trip there was to a pretty remote lodge where friends were living and had just run the iditarod. So my favorite part of that trip was a combination of the peace of nature plus mushing dogs! It truly healed something in me.
I have done Norway and Sweden and Denmark back when I was much younger. I remember liking it, but that's about it.
To travel with - probably Jimin? I think he'd have a good mix of relaxing and doing stuff. He's done a lot of traveling since this, so I don't think he's quite as much of a mess now. LOL
Deodorant is really difficult to get in south korea because usually east asian people don't tend to smell when they sweat
RM Snores really loudly, even after Big Hit sent him for surgery for his deviated septum. Suga and Jin argue that they raised Jungkook. Suga definately behaves like the proud dad. I would like to go with RM because I like nature museums and galleries. Plus when actually travelling the conversation would be interesting. RM though I would have to be watching he doesn't lose his passport money or phone. That would be a small price to pay for the quality of the company. You can wash and dry underwear you know.
22:34 that's true, one example is that if you travel to south korea and you have adhd you can't bring your adhd medication because it's consodered as an illegal drug for some reason and you can get into a really big trouble

Hahaha..Martin I know you were there with the boys😅. Our Boys are my Happy Pills. Small things also can make them be so happy. I would go travel with V, I like his decision dare to take the risk and enjoy the trip. My longest flight is 8 hours(Malaysia to Saudi) but once we experience stuck in 24 hours traffic jam (normally just 5-6 hours) on the road during our main Festival holiday.

Martin, please take this as constructive, you are interrupting way to much. Ruining the flow. Plus maybe rewatch yourself, you repeat yourself sometimes 3 times. Remember, most of us are re-watching with you, new army want to see the show with a few comments and fewer pauses. You are such a pleasant person, I know ( from watching many reactors), if you would stop the long pauses, your subscription rate would go way up! Promise. 💜💜

Trying to play "catch up" on all the vids here. Sorry about the "novel", but...
Okay....
1 - Who I'd want to travel with depends on where we're going! City famous for their museum/s? I'm going with RM, maybe Tae. Any "music city" rich in local legends, famous music hot spots, etc.? I'll gladly be Suga's plus one. Etc. Now, if we didn't know where we we're going beforehand? I gotta say...I'd like to go with someone who doesn't actually forget/lose half their stuff. Hmm...over the years, I think that might actually exclude ALL of them, though. LOL So, I guess I'll go with Jimin (we are very similar in many ways) or JK (he has my sense of adventure).
2 - I could NEVER pack in 50 minutes. I still don't know how they did that. Every trip I've ever taken, I've known at least two weeks in advance...with bags PACKED a week before (except daily use things like chargers, hair brush or the like), and have a fully detailed packing list, printed out...twice (one for leaving, one I pack so I don't forget anything upon returning home...I'm weird like that). LOL
***Fun Fact: Deodorant isn't needed for them. Going to South Korea? DO pack plenty of your own for your stay!!!! It's kind of a cool genetic marker. South Koreans don't *usually* have body odor, no matter how much they sweat. There are instances (full diet change while on vacation, extra spicy foods locally or away from home, etc.) where it can happen, but it typically isn't an issue. Finding deodorant in South Korea is (or...was?) difficult. Not sure about "now", but at the very least, there used to be a time when the only place to buy any over there was at specialty American import shops...and it often cost double or triple (import fees) than what it does "at home", so - even now - many travelers still say to pack some if you're going to travel to South Korea.
3 - Oh how I love this...Jimin loses his bag, BTS loses a whole human (JK! Stick with the group!!!! LOL)...as you know now, this is just the beginning of them losing stuff. LMAO
4 - It wasn't JK's birthday. It was time for his coming of age - a ceremony that's actually separate from their birthday - when a Korean turns 19 - but is celebrated in May every year for those who turned 19 within that year. 19 - by birth certificate - is the legal age for "everything" in South Korea - driving, drinking, buying a house, all those fun "adult things". LOL
5 - Sleeping with RM (or JK)...well, both had issues. My mind just blanked on the term. Anyway, RM had his corrected, JK never has. Both of them pretty much snored like buzz saws at this point in time, JK still does. Ear plugs were a necessity in their younger years. LOL
6 - Birthdays...are/were weird in South Korea. Koreans used to use a system that made a newborn 1, then on the first of January, *everyone* turns a year older. (So, yeah. Born Dec. 31st? You're 1 year old. The very next day, January 1st? Yep, you were already considered 2 years old!), but they have recently done away with that system and now go by birth date, like everywhere else. So, due to that old Korean Age system, EVERYONE celebrated/partied on January 1st. But birthdays...like ones traditional in the U.S. and elsewhere, weren't really common to do. Jimin actually started the gift-giving for holidays tradition (including birthdays) within the group. Of course, an individual family (parents and any siblings) would celebrate on the actual date, but having the entire family over, neighbors, classmates - whoever - just...didn't usually happen. There is video of J-Hope getting a birthday call from his family while they were touring. He basically broke down since they couldn't go home. It was a surprise call for him, so...yeah, that probably didn't help with the waterworks. That was a sad one. Jimin's dad once sent him flowers...with a note...in ENGLISH. He had to have RM translate it for him. So that was a funny one. Overall, though, yes, they definitely do miss their families on those special days, holiday's, etc. Even though they are brothers now, of course they still miss their "blood family" on those special occasions. (Though I think almost every member's parents have adopted the other 6 as kind of...surrogate sons?...as well. LOL Tae's mom would often make them food if they were traveling any long distance within South Korea. JK's mom tells Jimin she loves him pretty much as often as she tells JK himself. Etc.)
Seeing that I'm introverted, Yoongi and JK would be out for me cuz we're too similar lol. I need a chatter who'd pull me into conversation so it's between Jin, Hobi and Jimin. Out of those three, I'd probably go with Jin.

I wouldn't mind going anywhere with any of Our7; I think they have had such an interesting life so far that our conversations wouldn't be boring, plus, I'm the kind of traveler that can stay inside and go to a spa or go outside to nature, to the community, museums, different cuisine, etc. I wouldn't mind doing it all; or nothing at all! But I think if I had to choose, I would want to go with ... "cue the Jeopardy music" ... #OT74Life
The longest flight and the furthest I've ever gone is to the Bahamas; I've been twice. Once for my honeymoon but we flew from Los Angeles to Florida; then cruised the islands; the second time was without a cruise so it was the longest... according to Google the flight 6hrs and some minutes.

I'm sure that at the beginning they probably really missed celebrating with their biological family but as they spent more time with their BTS family, that longing may have lessened. Human nature leans toward missing what is positively familiar so once many birthday celebrations pass, of course you don't forget, but you reach a new familiar ... in my opinion.
I notice you have a really surface level idea of the boys. You tend to assume a lot based on your assessment of their “personalities.” I would encourage you not to assume so much as they are all complex. Just because you’re a leader in one thing doesn’t mean you’re good with directions. Just because you laugh a lot doesn’t mean you don’t get stressed. Just because you’re a thrill seeker doesn’t mean you like going out. I would travel with Jin, jimin or V as they actually like traveling and can be a good mix of spontaneous and regimented.
