This kind of shave in the back area is called a sanitary cut and is quite common on farms. The hair holds debris and odors. The milk should be better now. Good job!

They eat bugs and flies. When it is flying around, it’s catching bugs.

Remember to keep the cutter well oiled while using. There’s a certain oil to be used for this. If you don’t it will over heat and stop working. 👍

The goats need something to play on, a seesaw and tree stumps to just jump around on etc, they will love it.

Best thing to get the best goat milk flavor is always wash the teats before connecting milking machine. Also, a practice my granny always used was to filter the milk, immediately after milking, through a single layer white cotton sheet fabric which she boiled and air dried daily. You guys are on top of it. Your goats are lucky critters to be yours, with such diligent and thoughtful care. Tip: if the goats have eaten wild onions, their milk can be used to make the best, onion flavored goat cheese! 🥰

Those are swallows. We used to have them on our farm in South Africa. They fly all the way to Europe in our winter, and always return to the same nest, for years. Considered good luck when they choose you as their home. But you already have the storks 😊

Hi guys...love the way you have great respect for your goats. In return can see they love you . But was thinking they love climbing. If possible could you build them a mountain of rocks to climb on.

You have to use clipper oil on the clippers.
The other clipper are probably still good. Just a few drops on the blade. 😊

  • @Chereese0808
    @Chereese0808 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Yes you can add about
    1/3 alcohol
    2/3 water
about 10 drops of tea tree or essential oil to a spray bottle.
It will kill the bacteria and the oil will smell good.
    Good job.
They probably feel cooler now too. 😀

It is a swallow. The birds are found around the world on all continents, including occasionally in Antarctica. They are extremely agile in flight and spend most of their time on the wing. They are widespread breeding birds in the Northern Hemisphere, migrating south in winter.

I would cut the hair away from the udder area, so it can stay clear for milking, always wash the udders before milking & your milk should be fine, do you boil it before drinking? 🥰🥰💖💖💐💐

I'm so amazed with how you are always getting things done around your place regardless of how you may not be knowledgeable but Always willing to give it a try!! You did a fantastic job with the goats and they will be a lot happier with their trim! Doing the alcohol mix you can still add a little bit of tea tree oil or lavender oil to it . Hope to see the barn swallow with her babies and hopefully she won't be dive bombing you & your animals!

I love watching people who's first language is not English. When I hear the term shave the sheep, I see a barber with a cut throat or razor, shaving cream, a persons face and/or his/her legs. So when the guys say they shaved the sheep, I see in my minds eye the the sheep covered in soap and a razor. In Australia we shear the sheep or trim the around the udders with a trimmer. When I never shave, I trim my beard.

Barn Swallow is the bird with the split tail. They are beautiful to watch in flight. Your videos have made me fall in love with goats. They are so much like dogs! Smart, playful, affectionate… thanks for sharing all your work with them. 😊 And I have a question about the goats: do they have hair, or fur? I never really thought about it before watching this video.

Be sure to keep checking the shaver to make sure it does not get hot and burn them. Also shave with the direction of the hair. This keep the hair from looking choppy. You might watch some dog and or goat grooming videos. Those tips helped me when I was shaving my Shih tzu.

I think shaving their rear end is healthy for that breed of goat too, less flies and muck. My aunt used to keep goats of that type (the exact copies of the one with dark coat and horns, maybe Lima?) and they used to shear them with these shears made for sheep so the goats ended up looking like they went through a blow drier every summer😂 But they enjoyed it visibly and looked quite proud of their hairdos

All the clippers are the same machine. The only difference is the picture on the box and the length of the cord. The oil is just mineral oil. There is a spray to keep blade cool while cutting. In USA is called pool lube it just cools, it does not lube. Buy a clipper with a heavier cord.

Toggenburg and Oberhasi breeds of goats tend to have off tasting milk. Not sure what breed yours are tho. 😊
Also if they don't have access to good quality loose minerals, made for goats, it can cause milk to taste bad.

It is not just a trim to clear the udder of hair. Animals with unshaved rear ends are susceptible to 'fly strike'. Open wounds and soiled hair attracts flies who lay their eggs there. Maggots hatch. Not nice at all. The sheep would be more likely to have this problem if rear ends are not shaved.

The flavor of milk in goats is largely a genetic factor. Some goats just produce more smelly strong milk than others. If you are wanting to drink the milk, you should keep the goats that produce the best flavored milk AND their daughters.
