Can we take a moment and appreciate the level of long-suffering resignation he gives off here? Seriously, he's talking about yanking someone back from the lifestream, and he sounds like he just walked into the kitchen at 3 AM to find his roommates giving him puppy-dog eyes as they're gathered around an empty cereal-box. *Sigh,* "...I'll get my coat..."
3:56 What he did here is like telling a group of people that they have a friend drowning in a river in front of them and then entire group just stands around looking sad and helpless. "So, uhhm... are you gonna jump in or do I have to?"
I just realized he is such a gentleman. Right around 7:07 when the light starts fading around her as she comes out of the lifestream he looks down so he’s not staring at her naked body and he snaps his fingers to put clothes on her.
@@christianrodriguez8577 We had 7 other warriors of Light/Darkness fighting with us and this time it's canon. Plus, the rest of the Scions after we gave them time to heal themselves and regroup. This time, against Hades, The WoL/D honestly, TRULY couldn't win by themselves.

@@crazy13alex Azem crystal is our power, canonically we summon them with out strength so what are you blabbing about? Simply devs dont want to make cutscenes with WoL fighting so Scions fight in them. But canonically we owned him in one hit.
I think my favorite part about his offer to retrieve Y'shtola is the knowledge that, after our time in Elpis, he wasn't doing that JUST as an effort to gain trust but more because that's just... how he is. He's grumpy and sarcastic and will bitch about doing it, but he practically can't help himself when it comes to helping others. It's in his very nature. He is, despite everything he tries to be, a softhearted optimist when you really get down to it.
Another telling thing about Emet-Selch as a character since Elpis is that the for the Ancients back in the real unsundered Etherys, when they see the WoL, they dont consider them human. While Emet-Selch claims to not see the sundered people of Etherys as human or alive, in his tulpa Amaurot, the tulpa Ancients think the WoL and Scions are lost children rather than non-human familiars. To me, it seems to indicate that at least on some subconscious level, he *does* actually see them that way (probably why he wanted the WoL to prove him wrong in Shadowbringers).
I know the video is old, but one detail i like about the scene where we discuss about y'shtola being in the lifestream is that emet-selch only looks at you and shows that he worries about giving us false hopes after mentioning he felt a disturbance. When he sees us looking down about her being stuck in the lifestream he volunter to get her back if it helps the scions to trust him more but he still only looks at us in the eyes with an expression that says, i want my best friend to be happy and trust in me again.
i know that he just wants to rest peacefully and allowed to re-incarnate without us disturbing him or ever encountering his re-incarnation.... but i REALLY want Emet to come back again somehow
my only issue with ShB was that our responses to him are only every confusion of confrontational/dismissive. i would have LOVED the option to be like "hey Emet, grab a chair, i'll some drinks, lets have a long chat" and not even about important shit like "so whats your plan? whats the goal? is there any common ground we can have?" and more "so, whats your fav food and drink? do you have hobbies? other than the destruction of worlds obviously" etc. get to know the guy. would have helped a lot later i am sure.
Does anybody know the name of the music that plays when Emet pulls Y'shtola from the lifestream? I've been looking through the osts, but I haven't been able to find it.

Y'shtola really has the shittest character development in game :D even she has a huge fanbase... every dlc or every story ending her power/logic levels drops like from palpatine to a stormtrooper for a pushed unlogical drama scene and then, either again a boring typical anime guy beats her or saves her to be look cool :P
Well hate to say it but many of the characters in the game have this story XD, Thancred is always ALWAYS getting hurt or the shittest of all thoust shit. And is usually used for plot development in the game and to push things forward. Likewise with Alisaie, and what could have been held true too for Minfillia in ARR. Who always seemed like she was getting kidnapped...girl should have really just kept her calendar clear and set time aside for them. I might say it might ring somewhat true for Alphinaud, but many of the things that do occur to him tend to mostly come from his own undoings. He is his own story device XD And in the end, with the typical very anime tradition. When shit hits the fan, The heros, aka your friends will come in and save the day! Thancred, your "man" always the first to dive in and rescue everyone...Be it woman or man. And will somehow get hurt but continue fighting on cause....friendship!! And everyone will look to you the MC to be OP and save the day...and all walk away like its just your average 9-5 shift. Same shit, different day. In the end every single one of them have their faults in character development. Some more annoying than others albeit. (personally for me it was Minfillia's constant weakness)
Just got to this part. Very annoyed. Yshtola is a garbage character now because she's completely invincible and they keep doing these lame fakeout deaths with her. I will be very disappointed if they never properly kill her off. I am fine with her otherwise but this is just total and complete nonsense and lazy writing in an otherwise amazing story.

Not gonna lie, when Runar picked her up, I winced thinking she would get angry. And then she smiled. This is one special man.
