Marvel Vs Capcom 2 was a broken mess. It wasn't really suited for competitive play, MVC3 was made with competition in mind so it was far more polished, not without flaws, but definitely a better game overall. People glorify MVC2 because of nostalgia, that's it.

Truth. To this day, I still say 2010 was the best Evo to date. MVC2 was still a main stage, the Street Fighter franchise came back to life with SF4, and so much other good stuff as well.
I haven't watched this video/match in a few months. And I came back to re-watch that SEXY Strider Hiryu beastliness..but besides the last match (which is the one I came here to see), in the 2nd match, from 3:27-3:35..that usage of the Strider assist combined w/ Sentinel was amazing to watch. Glad to see that not all pro matches revolve around MSP/MSS/MSD/etc.. Clockw0rk's MvC2 matches are soo entertaining to watch =] glad to see that Strider can hold his own against the "god-tier" characters!
I so agree, I remember the meta at the beginning was very different because not every character was unlocked. Even Sentinel, almost definitely being top tier character, was like, second to last to be unlocked.
@SnakeStormTV You're probably trolling, but the most important thing is being comfortable. Also some sticks slide depending on how you sit, so some players liked to sit Indian Style on the floor to prevent sliding. Some peeps still do it. Nothing wrong with it.

You are so off base. Lower tier characters in the right hands have always been insanely powerful. Look up guys like Vdo or (especially) Dao. I played Dao's team for years and years before I ever heard of the dude and even took the team to Chinatown when I was in NYC a few years back... cleaned up all day long.

So many people complaining about the players being on the floor wow. I like to play on the floor no matter what game it is because i can rest my arms on my legs and that way i have better execution.
i dont see how this games was so great the cast was so unbalance with no hopes of the lower tiers ever making it and there were infinites that couldnt be patched.

I mean his orb super (oroboros) is a level 3 in Ultimate so there's no way to constantly have it up and lock down virtually the whole match. Honestly that is gonna make striders game much different for umvc3. though everything else is pretty much identical to his mvc2 counterpart.
@Rypleys1 not trying to argue or anything but you can 0-death way easier in mvc3 than mvc2 so i dont mind the infinites where each hit takes off 0.6% of your health when mvc3 you lose half your life in 4-7 hits idk.

I pick Psy cuz she's my main from COTA~ she juss happened to have an op assist? As a char, her hp is a great poke & her b.HK makes for good crossups & her f.HK, too~
in marvel 2 the only inf you gotta worry about is IM's. his inf + proton cannon is 100% on every char excluding sent. you gotta take the rom to dizzy twice to be near death for most chars, excluding sent. storms inf are used for flash cause they are impractical on every char excluding sent. cables infs... just do the AHVB instead... in high level play an inf is nothing but a tool to help you set up true char killing tech.. if you only have the rom then you won't win anything anytime soon.
recently i just realized i hate it when he puts words into people's/character's mouths. and when he does it it goes on for a while, like "ooh! and C. Viper says, 'get outta here, i'm tired of that shit, and i'll just x-factor burn kick (blah blah ten seconds later), that was god-like!" but otherwise he is okay.
the game actually doesn't look or feel fast anymore once u know what ur doing.. im sure if i spent more time playin sf4 tho i would feel different about it
no MvC2 had like only five characters tou use UMvC3 has a lot more and dont expect to treat marvel as street fighter and there has only been one MvC3 EVO tournouament and it was very good at the end for a new game so what you were saying

A lot of players prefer to sit on the floor for more a stable stick to play on. It emulates an arcade machine I suppose.
