Thank you for the video! As I am also attipical snooker fan (ukrainian living in Spain) I understand how different can this game look at first sight. Its a shame it's not popular in the US.
It’s not the potting of the balls that is the hard bit, the hard but is controlling the cue ball and manoeuvring it exactly where you want it for the next shot. That is happening without your average watcher even realising he’s doing it, it’s immense skill and Ronnie has the cue ball ‘on a shoe string’.
It's better once you know how, the Pink ball is the key!! And the main position is the you have to keep on or near as possible to is an intangible line running across the pink! From middle to the corner and vice versa
The first televised 147 was around 1983. Such was the tension that the referee stopped calling out the score once the 147 was becoming likely. Showmen like Ronnie O'Sullivan are still rare these days. His precursor from the 70's and 80's was the late Alex Higgins, a deeply troubled man, but unconventional to say the least. The co commentator was Dennis Taylor, who was in the 1985 world championship final that is etched in British sporting history.
The first televised 147 was in 1982 by Steve Davis in Lada Classic (I think he even got a Lada for the break, poor Steve 😂) and the first ever 147 in the World Championship was by Cliff Thorburn in 1983.
@@washitokusei6801 Only 147 Davis made in a career spanning over 44 years., and just 355 centuries. Murphy and Maguire are my mates and they said Steve's greatness is a myth. Its different gravy today. Standard too high them two said!
lol, same. I was even quite a good pool player in my day and had a pub 8 ball table in my house growing up and would often clear from the break for example, but man, when I tried to play snooker it was a humbling experience! haha.
Is he the GOAT though? He had to play more tournamets to beat Hendry's win record and he had to play in more frames to beat Hendry's century record. Hendry has a much higher tournament-to-win ratio, and a much higher frame to century ratio.
@24magiccarrot nearly every snooker professional says he is which means more than us fans ( which Hendry's fans will always have him as the best ) and Hendry dominated mainly because he didn't have much competition, once player's like Ronnie O'sullivan, John Higgins and Mark Williams came he couldn't compete whereas Ronnie has been able to be at the top of the game far longer against top class players.
@@waynelowe3329 Prior to his cue getting lost Hendry was still the number one player and won the most events when Ronnie, Higgins and Williams were all competing at their best., Hendry just never recovered from losing his cue. Snooker professionals might mean more than fans opinion, but statistics outweigh both. Statistically Hendry was much more successful, and he wasn't exactly competing against scubs - Jimmy White, Steve Davis, Ken Docherty, John Higgins, Mark Williams, Ronnie O'sullivan you name it prior to his cue being lost he had winning records against everybody including Ronnie. And I disagree that Ronnie is playing against tougher opponents, Hendry was playing against Higgins and Williams when they were at the top of their game, Ronnie now is playing against Higgins and Williams well past their best and who's current number 1? Mark Allen?? He couldn't lace the boots of any of the class of '92 in their prime but Hendry not only competed but more often than not came out on top.
@@24magiccarrot I've been watching snooker since 1981. From the time I've been watching snooker, I would rank the players in the following order: 1. Ronnie 2. Hendry 3. S. Davis 4. J. Higgins 5. M. Selby Yes, it took Ronnie longer to beat Stephen's records but several things are at play here. Firstly snooker went into the doldrums. It was horribly mismanaged and as a result for several years you only had 4 professional tournaments a year. That is just disgraceful. As a result it will have taken Ronnie longer to beat some of Hendry's records. The players and managers were reluctant for Barry Hearn to take over the sport but thank God he did. Next, Ronnie had both his parents jailed. His father jailed for murder and his mother for tax evasion. Ronnie ended up with the wrong crowd and taking drugs. Thank God he cleaned himself up. But the damage was done in the sense that he probably lost his best years. Even after that, for him to defy the odds and still be at the top after all those years is amazing. When he's in full flow he is pretty much untouchable. Do you recall how easily he beat Hendry 17-4 at the world championships? I believe those years are behind him now but his game is so good that he can still beat most players using his c game. I did watch him at his full flow as I did watch Hendry and Davis, and I would put Ronnie at his peak higher than Hendry and Davis. But that may be because the tables have changed. The cloth is much thinner now and the balls lighter and more reactive. That makes a huge difference. During Davis's time, frames went on longer. It wasn't unusual to have matches at the world championship end until the early hours of the next morning. As a result the BBC and the WPBSA decided to let frames end faster by making the balls open up easier. Just watch Davis's 147 and how hard he had to hit the balls to get the same amount of screw-back and compare that to Ronnie's shots. It's a whole world of difference. Davis dominated the 80s and Hendry the 90s. Ronnie never dominated. But the question remains, what if you had another exceptional player come along in the 2010s, would Ronnie have got his 7th world title? I don't know. Probably not. But then again, he probably would have got there faster if he had a stable upbringing. It's hard to compare eras but taking everything into account, I believe my list is a fair one.
@@24magiccarrot I grew up to watching Hendry and that legendary run. I loved the guy and hated Ronnie - for being just that much better than Stephen. Ronnie will tell you the greatest of all time is Hendry, however, Hendry and pretty much everyone else will tell you it's Ronnie.

Yeah I was going to post the same thing. And when Taylor calls this amazing it means a lot - he's a world champion and one of the all time greats in his own right. I'm sure he's completed more than one 147 in practice, and possibly competition, never mind seen one.
When all the reds have gone, the coloured balls must be sunk in the correct order: yellow, green. Brown, blue, pink, black. Since black scores a seven, and a red ball needs to be sunk before a coloured ball, the ideal ball is the black. It goes back onto the table as do all the coloured balls, back onto their fixed positions marked by a tiny dot, until all the reds are sunk.
@@cookslooking10no, it has happened in the world championships on multiple occasions, and it’s always the same guy. I know he sells them in the local snooker palaces
@@mikejones-go8vz Yeah I think I've seen that actually, afterwards the referee says "new balls please" and some kids come out and chuck them at the players.
He's actually gesturing for the cheque to be signed (for his 147,000£ reward for doing a maximum). He's made similar motions before. His gesturing is also not how you chalk a cue in snooker, and snooker players always have plenty of chalk in their bag/gear.
He is asking for more chalk because he threw his into the crowd then realised he still had a frame to play. The gentleman who caught it gave it back for him to use then Ronnie gave it him back after signed. I was at that match.
The chalk appears to be unrelated because Ronnie makes the same signature gesture after he gives and receives chalk. He's also makes the gesture during other events where chalk is not involved, seemingly referencing the bonus cheque. We'll just have to disagree on our interpretations.

@@luisduarte4855 That could be the case but I still think it was due to throwing his chalk to the spectators much like golfers throw their golf ball and then he needed a replacement piece.
@@seanscanlon9067 If you watch the full video, he does the same gesture a second time. He's done it other times in his career as well, including times when he did not throw anything to the crowd. His gesturing is also inconsistent with how snooker players chalk their cues. Whatever the case may be, it was an incredible 147 break!
This guy is very likeable & his innocence in the knowledge of snooker is actually endearing.Ronnie is the greatest player in history of snooker from another planet 🌍 😂
In 2022 Ronnie also nearly broke the record for the fastest century but the timekeepers got it wrong so it ended up being 3 minutes and 34 seconds which is 3 seconds slower than the fastest.
He threw his chalk up into the crowd. Then found there was no more and had to signal for another one. lol Yes the frame had already started by the other player. The 15 reds are in a triangle with the small end behind the pink ball. You pocket a red followed by a coloured ball [which gets replaced on the table until all reds have gone] then it follows in the coloured sequence: yellow/green/brown/blue/pink/black.
You would have to say that Snooker players are a lot more skilful and accurate than pool players, as the table is "twice" as big as a pool table (12 ft x 6 ft). Also, the pockets on a snooker table are a lot smaller than a pool table, about 1 inch smaller.
What is the standard size of a pool table? How to Choose the Right Pool Table Size for Your Room. 8ft x 4ft so 32 square feet. A snooker table is 12ft x 6ft so 72 square feet. Yep that table is big 12 ft X6 ft. And the black goes in last of all after you've put all the reds ,colored balls in order first . First you put a red then colored ball in but the colored ball is back out until you pot all reds in first. Amazing performance from the GOAT .
I've been watching Snooker since I was a little boy in the 1970's ..... Ronnie is probably the bests Sportman that has ever lived...... 30+ years at the top 👑
To put things in perspective: O'Sullivan has the highest number of career max breaks in snooker at 15 and he has been a pro since 1992. So for the GOAT of snooker a max break happens about once every two years. So i think it's fair to say this is a pretty rare event no matter the time.
Ryan, Mick Price broke the red balls that are usually in a triangle at the start, with each of the coloured (non-red) balls on their own individual spots to potted in the colour sequence! Ronnie O'S is the greatest Snooker goat ever, a maverick in character, a snooker millionaire and most exciting Snk player ever✌️
Ronnie O'Sullivan has signed a three-year ambassadorial deal with the World Snooker Tour and Riyadh Season, ending speculation he could soon retire. The Rocket, 48, is one of the all-time greats having won an astounding 23 Triple Crown titles during his illustrious career. “Ronnie O'Sullivan has spoken about his Welsh Open 2024 absence in his first appearance back in the Eurosport studio at the event - 'I don't want to be on treadmill every week'. Glad you liked it. The black ball or any colour ball comes back onto the table after its potted so long as there are still reds on the table. To get maximum break you need to pot all the reds with a black until the black comes for the last time, then you have to pot all the colours in sequence:- Yellow(2)Green(3)Brown(4)Blue(5) Pink(6) and finally the Black(7). Potting the balls is difficult because the table is 12feet long and 6feet wide and narrower pockets than a pool table. The most important ball, is the White in that after potting a ball, you need the white ball to be in a good position to pot the next ball. If you watch Ronnie again, you will see, he's always striving to get the white ball in the right position. Sometimes players miss a pot that looks easy but thats because they are cueing to try to get the white ball in the right place afterwards. Try for yourself a snooker table and see just how hard it is to pot a ball, let alone place the white afterwards! Then try to do a max break! You will then I think, realise, just how hard this game is, and just how special a 147 is especially in 5mins 38secs!
Small correction: It sounds like you mean that when you have potted the last red ball, no more balls comes back onto the table which is a little wrong, the colored ball (which are all the balls except the reds and the white) you choose to pott directly after you pott a red ball always comes back in play even if there at that time are no more red balls on the table.
He has won 79 out of 125 championships in his career that’s 97%. That’s unbelievable but it’s the truth such a master of snooker. He will go down in history, the best of all time.
The gesture Ronnie made after he finished, was to say 'I need some more chalk', as he had just thrown the chalk he was using into the crowd .. so some lucky fan got to keep the chalk Ronnie used for this epic achievement ..
The commentaror said early on that the player needs to pot 15 red and 15 blacks -- but there is only one bllack on the table. Therefore the referee returns the black to the table each time to allow this to happen.
What Ryan also doesn't realize is that the pots on a tournament snooker table are very much smaller than on a table the clods use to play. He's centering them so easily because he has to have almost perfect accuracy to pot the ball and keep the dynamic going. He's doing so well because this is Ronnie freaking O'Sullivan, who is considered the Mozart of snooker. He is out of this world awesome.
155 is actually the highest break you can make in snooker, but would require a free ball at the start of the game with all balls still on the table. Not yet done in tournament play as far as I know, would be amazing to see done at some point!
Ronnie is the GOAT and is still number 1 in most people's eyes. He's very controversial and upsets some people with his comments but he's the people's champ in my opinion.
I played snooker 13 years I can’t play anymore. I have his picture of his 7th world title tying Stephen Henry. He’s is the goat of snooker he missed 10 years of not playing. Both of his parents went to jail and he had a drug and alcohol problem. Ronnie took care of his younger sister. I can only imagine what he could have accomplished missing those 10 years. What Ronnie O’Sullivan the Rocket 🚀 has done in the sport of snooker is sensational truly the KING!
No. He threw his chalk up into the crowd and was motioning to tell the people running the tournament he needs another piece of chalk. Yes, HE IS THE GREATEST........Now, in 2024, he is still one of the best.
Ryan, do you do music video's? If you do, or want to, I have a singer I would like to introduce you to that will, well, let's just say she's very special.
As almost said earlier, a standard American pool table is 6' long . The English Snooker & Billiards tables are 6' wide and 12' long, so 4 times bigger. The American settlers knew about Snooker and English Billiards, but because the pockets are so tight ( small and with unforgiving corners ) they chose pool and the quarter sized pool table as game of choice. They also chose wide open pockets with corners that suck the ball in to make potting easy, where as the English tables make potting almost impossible unless your aim is perfect.
He threw his chalk into the crowd for someone to have as a souvenir then realised that he needed to re chalk his cue, he was asking for some chalk to chalk up
Great reaction :) First, the reds starts out in a triangle with the pink above them and the black below them. Second, as long as there are red balls on the table, the "coloured balls" (not red and white) will be taken back up to the table, as you must put a red followed by a "coloured ball", until there are no more red balls. The black ball gives you 7 points, and the pink gives you 6 points. That's why he uses the black to get to 147 points :) Third, he is not just the GOAT, he is just not world class, he has re-defined world class. He is "The Rocket" for a reason, he is without real comparrison the best of all time, and one of the best sports idols of European history. Ronnie O'Sullivan represents something different, something you don't really find many places in sport today. Snooker and Rugby has this. "Professional Situational Awareness" to such a degree that he defines an entire sport. Only very few people has ever done that, and he is the greatest of them all, for me :)
The amazing thing about Ronnie is he can play left or right handed. Of all the greats, Spencer, Reardon, Davis, Henry, Higgins, White. No one had that ability, consistently.
Ronnie made his first competitive 147 when he was 15. He was 21 in this video. Ronnie won his first World Championship aged 25 and his most recent (2022) aged 46, making him the oldest to take the title to date. A true legend of his chosen art. He is from an interesting family, his cousin Maria Catalano is a previous women's world number one (runner up in the World Championship five times), his mother spent a year in prison for tax evasion (Ronnie had to look after his eight year old sister) and his father had 18 years in prison for murder. Ronnie had issues with substance abuse early in his career. So, a colourful character with an eventful life.
In snooker you pot a red, worth one point, then a colored ball, worth between two (yellow) up to seven (black), then another red and another color repeatedly, until all 15 reds have gone. Then you pot the colors in order. Clearing all the balls with a free choice of color after each red is hard enough. It remains a dream for most amateur players. Getting the cue ball into a position to pot the black after every red, to get 147, is beyond mere mortals. Doing it in five minutes is just unreal. To put what Ronnie did in perspective, the highest break of any player in the snooker league I play in over the last 35 years was 118!
For the pool players out there, a snooker table playing area is 12 feet by six feet and the balls will not go in the pockets if they hit the rail (called a cushion in snooker) before they reach the pocket. The pockets are probably the biggest difference. They are cut round instead of straight and they are smaller. It is a little easier to pot balls in the center pockets than on an American pool table but MUCH harder to pot balls in the corner pockets.
Ronnie is the GOAT in a game that has seen some really great players like Ken Doherty, Steve Davis and Steven Hendry. It is not enough to just pot the colours after you are done with the reds. You have to pot them in ascending order of value.
It's not about popping ball after ball. It's about positioning the cue ball and setting the other ones at least 3 hits ahead. That's the difference between the greatest players and amateurs.
The only reason Ronnie isn't ranked higher is that he doesn't play in all the ranking tournaments. He is at the point of his career where he just plays when he wants to.
This is one of those records that can never be broken really. This not only requires the player to be very fast, but also the referee to place the balls back quickly and efficiently.
A tournament snooker table is 12ft x 6ft, with narrower corner pockets at 3-3/8" to 3-5/8" and side pockets at 4-1/16 to 4-5/16; the cushion profile is upside-down 'L' shape. A snooker ball diameter is 2-1/16" A tournament pool table is 9ft x 4.5ft with wider corner pockets at 4-7/8" to 5-1/8" and side pockets 5-3/8" to 5-5/8"; the cushion profile is '>' shaped. A pool ball diameter is 2-1/4" Although the pockets on a pool table are wider than those on a snooker table, the pool balls have a larger diameter by 3/16".
7:32 You can see he dropped his chalk. 7:53 He picked his chalk up and tossed it into the crowd. Then he asked for another pice of chalk with the gesture he done, not a "taunt".
The goal of the break in this game is typically not to pot anything on the break, but simply to spread out the reds a little and play the cue ball back up to the head of the table. There may be several back and forth safety shots played before the first ball of a frame is potted. That's why the video begins with the game in progress, because it skips the break and whatever safety shots were already exchanged.
This 147 was made in 1997 and in that time a maximum break in snooker was very rare achievement. When the all players made 2-3 maximums during whole season it was a good season. Today, 147's are more common and during season plares made over 10 maximums.
1:46 The frame didn't start like this. It started with the 15 red balls in a triangle shape, the outline of which you can still see at the start of the video. Each player hit the cue ball not with the intention of potting a ball, but with the idea of just hitting the red balls gently and putting their opponent in a position where they could not pot a ball. This is called safety play - not worrying so much about potting a ball, but putting your opponent in a position where he makes a mistake and this allows you to pot balls more easily.
The thing about Ronnie it seems is that it's not up to the opponent whether they win or not even today. It's how Ronnie is feeling . I think it's a case of if Ronnie wants to win he does . He can even play right of left handed just as well. You have no idea how hard it is to get 147 . You could play all day every day for your whole life and never even get close
FYI, the double O in snooker is pronounced the same as the double O in pool. That's not a taunt at the end of the match, he threw his chalk into the crowd so someone could have a souvenir, then realised he still had the rest of the match to play so he was indicating to his mate that he needed some chalk.
You have just witnessed this on video tape but I remember it 'Live' at the time & I don't think anybody has come close to repeating the feat of this 147 in the time frame that Ronnie achieved ! The only person that would come anywhere close after that 147 would be Ronnie himself but at his age now I think it would be extremely difficult to replicate ! So the chances of seeing anything like that ever again could well be 0% !
Snoo-ker as in pool, fool, tool, etc., not Shnuker. Fascinating game and played here by the best ever! Nick Price "broke" without potting a ball and Ronnie came to the table. This video is showing from that point on.

I don't want to confuse our American friend any more but if your opponent fouls on his shot and you get a free ball you can can achieve a maximum break of 155 in one visit to the table
He actually played that fast because he wasn’t confident in his cueing and felt like if he played fast then it would help him out At the end he is saying that he didn’t have any chalk on the cue for most of the break when most players chalk every shot .
'The Hurricane'!!! 💯
😆 Funny!
Even though I knew, he was gonna make it, I celebrated when he pocketed the last ball.🎉
Very captivating!
Thanks for the fun video, Ryan!😊
Ronnie O'Sullivan and Lionel Messi are two sportsmen I could watch all day
It looks so easy, doesn't it. I play for 20 years and get exited when I pot 3 balls in a row. It really is that hard.
lol, same. I was even quite a good pool player in my day and had a pub 8 ball table in my house growing up and would often clear from the break for example, but man, when I tried to play snooker it was a humbling experience! haha.
Watching Ronnie O'Sullivan play when he's in a good mood is magical. He's truly the GOAT.
From the time I've been watching snooker, I would rank the players in the following order:
1. Ronnie
2. Hendry
3. S. Davis
4. J. Higgins
5. M. Selby
Yes, it took Ronnie longer to beat Stephen's records but several things are at play here.
(5.00) Ryan saying that a maximum is that rare that this Guy has never seen one. NO RYAN what Denis said was that he never COMMENTATED on one. Can you imagine Ryan reacting to the 1985 Final - Steve - Denis.
What happens if someone picks up all the balls off the table and puts them in a suitcase? Would they be disqualified?
@@cookslooking10no, it has happened in the world championships on multiple occasions, and it’s always the same guy. I know he sells them in the local snooker palaces
@@mikejones-go8vz Yeah I think I've seen that actually, afterwards the referee says "new balls please" and some kids come out and chuck them at the players.
@@cookslooking10 I love snooker but that would add a new dimension to the game, might get some delinquents off the streets too, win win 🤔😂
Ronnie does not play every tournament like other players. He picks and chooses and still remains in the top 5
It wasn't a taunt. He threw his chalk into the crowd, so was signaling he needed a new chalk for the next frame!
He won 5 tournaments this season including 2 of the 3 majors. Not to bad for being 48 years old
It's not a taunt he just asked for new chalk cubes (I don't know how you call it in english) because he threw the others in the crowd.
Pretty sure he was telling the officials to sign the cheque 😅🤣
Yes in England thay are also called chalk cubes, or more commonly just chalk.
Ronnie did his 147 break 15 times that’s why he’s called The Rocket. He is The Goat of Snooker.
moi je dirais qu'il a le diable aux fesses!, il est imbattable!!!.

The real pronunciation for Snooker is not snucker, it you should pronounce the double O in the same way as snoop or pool.
I just wrote the same post before seeing yours. :) Forgot about 'snoop' though.
Wish you lot would stop getting your knickers in a twist about it. You never used to see people crying when Cliff Thorburn pronounced it exactly the same way.

Many Americans pronounced snooker with short "o" sounds like book or cook, rather than the long "o" sound as in snoop or scoop.
Ronnie O Sullivan is the best player of all time, he can play left or right handed, and likes running to clear his mind.
Steve Davis and Stephen Hendry, two of the very best players of all time, consider him to be a genius
Price broke the triangle form and then O’Sullivan went first. As soon as he misses a shot, Price gets his turn.

"The little taunt" at the end of the break was just Ronnie signally for more chalk after throwing the one he used during the break to a spectator as a keepsake.
So, what Ronnie was actually doing here is gesturing "please sign that cheque", as in he just won a cheque for 147,000£ for scoring a maximum break.
The commentator had definitely seen a maximum break before but had never commentated on one.
This guy is very likeable & his innocence in the knowledge of snooker is actually endearing.Ronnie is the greatest player in history of snooker from another planet 🌍 😂
it's snoooooooooooooooooker, with a long "oo" sound
In 2022 Ronnie also nearly broke the record for the fastest century but the timekeepers got it wrong so it ended up being 3 minutes and 34 seconds which is 3 seconds slower than the fastest.
He threw his chalk up into the crowd.
Then found there was no more and had to signal for another one. lol
Yes the frame had already started by the other player.
Standard Pool Table Sizes: A standard-size pool table is often used in homes, measuring 8ft x 4ft. The playing surface can be 88in x 44in, as well. The good thing about standard sizes is that they can be smaller and even custom-made, especially if you have limited space.2 Nov 2022
At the 2022 Scottish Open, O'Sullivan scored a century in 3 minutes 34 seconds - just 3 seconds slower than the fastest televised century break, which was made by Tony Drago, from Malta in 1996.
Additionally, O'Sullivan holds the record for the most 147 breaks to be completed during the final frame of a match. He has made a maximum in a final frame on six occasions, one of these in the deciding frame of his semi-final victory over Mark Selby at the 2007 UK Championship.

Ronnie is the greatest of all time, no question about that.
He would of had a few more but has refused at times and made 146 on principle.
He can play with both hands so he switches sides in games and is better than 90% of all others playing left-handed.
Ronnie O'Sullivan has signed a three-year ambassadorial deal with the World Snooker Tour and Riyadh Season, ending speculation he could soon retire. The Rocket, 48, is one of the all-time greats having won an astounding 23 Triple Crown titles during his illustrious career.

the amazing thing is, he can do this left handed too.

@@JuusoDartsFinland 79% + the 147 maximum = 226. Minus 125 championships = 101%. Take away 4 for a foul on the yellow makes 97%. Obviously.
I've been a fan for many years. Ronnie, Alex and White had/have something special that no amount of practice will give
The width of the snooker table 6ft which is the length of a pool table. Although there are some 7ft pool tables
Maybe bar tables. Tournament tables are 9ft, some times 10ft.
Pool tables come in all sizes.I have played on , 9 foot tables, and 10 foot tables, and a 12 foot pool table in Mississipi.
You got my like for appreciating greatness.
Ronnie is a legend
The gesture Ronnie made after he finished, was to say 'I need some more chalk', as he had just thrown the chalk he was using into the crowd .. so some lucky fan got to keep the chalk Ronnie used for this epic achievement ..
Well said its like hes practised this run put,
hes so good that he knows straight away almost like he knows before the shot even,
scarily good
Great overview from a non snooker expert! Well done, yes he was still no 1 seed before world championship in May .
Ronnie makes the game look easy.
The best natural the game has seen.
The commentaror said early on that the player needs to pot 15 red and 15 blacks -- but there is only one bllack on the table. Therefore the referee returns the black to the table each time to allow this to happen.
Phil Taylor 2 9- darters in one game is also epic
What Ryan also doesn't realize is that the pots on a tournament snooker table are very much smaller than on a table the clods use to play. He's centering them so easily because he has to have almost perfect accuracy to pot the ball and keep the dynamic going. He's doing so well because this is Ronnie freaking O'Sullivan, who is considered the Mozart of snooker. He is out of this world awesome.
Great video man. If I could recommend another.. The most hilarious Snooker Match | Steve Davis vs. Dennis Taylor The Rematch [Funniest Moments]
155 is actually the highest break you can make in snooker, but would require a free ball at the start of the game with all balls still on the table. Not yet done in tournament play as far as I know, would be amazing to see done at some point!
Ronnie earned £147,000, for that 5 minute magic🌟👏🚀

Great watch, seen it 'Live' but this was a nice reminder of the Class of the Man's Game.
He was amazin* when he was 14. Unreal natural talent.
I've never watched Snooker. That was awesome!
It's not always that spectacular, but I do recommend checking out more of the game. Games can get very tactical, but also tense and exciting.
He's also ambidextrous 🖖🏕️
Are you sure you're right about that maybe that's too left for Ryan😀😃😄
He threw his chalk into the crowd for someone to have as a souvenir then realised that he needed to re chalk his cue, he was asking for some chalk to chalk up
Once you have played snooker it puts this in a certain perspective.
It's a 12 foot table but the pockets are also insanely tight. If it's not nearly dead center, it doesn't drop.
Great reaction :)
First, the reds starts out in a triangle with the pink above them and the black below them.
Second, as long as there are red balls on the table, the "coloured balls" (not red and white) will be taken back up to the table, as you must put a red followed by a "coloured ball", until there are no more red balls. The black ball gives you 7 points, and the pink gives you 6 points. That's why he uses the black to get to 147 points :)
Third, he is not just the GOAT, he is just not world class, he has re-defined world class.
The greatest human to ever pick up a cue, he is the GOAT
“Need to brush up on the rules” but doesn’t know the colours get replaced 😂
On the other hand, he knew nothing about the game but still recognized what he was seeing.
Who know? Maybe he'll try the grown up game. :)
I'm old enough to tell you exactly where I was watching this live... 🔥🔥🔥
Amazing player, the best snooker has ever seen.
Ronnie was so locked in he forgot to even chalk his cue on the last few shots..that's what the gesture is about..madness
A snooker ball diameter is 2-1/16"
A tournament pool table is 9ft x 4.5ft with wider corner pockets at 4-7/8" to 5-1/8" and side pockets 5-3/8" to 5-5/8"; the cushion profile is '>' shaped.
A pool ball diameter is 2-1/4"
Although the pockets on a pool table are wider than those on a snooker table, the pool balls have a larger diameter by 3/16".
7:32 You can see he dropped his chalk. 7:53 He picked his chalk up and tossed it into the crowd. Then he asked for another pice of chalk with the gesture he done, not a "taunt".
Ronnie is a genius on rhe snooker table.
Look up Alex Higgins. The Hurricane was his name.
Ronnie's is Rocket Ronnie.
He was Ronnie's idol and motivation
1:46 The frame didn't start like this. It started with the 15 red balls in a triangle shape, the outline of which you can still see at the start of the video. Each player hit the cue ball not with the intention of potting a ball, but with the idea of just hitting the red balls gently and putting their opponent in a position where they could not pot a ball. This is called safety play - not worrying so much about potting a ball, but putting your opponent in a position where he makes a mistake and this allows you to pot balls more easily.
he's not insane, he's a professional snooker player.
He wasn’t taunting; he’d thrown his original chalk into the crowd. He was telling his people he needed another one.
Goat !!!!!!!!
Ronnie was no 1 until last weeks World Championship, beaten in the 1/4 finals. Won by Kyren Wilson
