I watch Mark Lowry’s ‘JUST WHENEVER’ sing along Everytime I get a chance. ❤And was Blessed to get invited to hear the Gaither Vocal Band in person. At which time, I truly needed, as I had become a widow three months prior ❤

The Happy Goodman Family is still one of my favorite gospel music groups. Their songs are so ageless and timeless . Many thanks for sharing such an important part of gospel music history.
Untold many Vestal has been instrumental leading to The Lord. Joy and Michael English are two of my favorites. Went to Christ Church, Nashville, with them. What a joy their music was. Vestal came to worship a few times I was there. She took Michael under her wing and directed him back to the straight and narrow road, no doubt. I love all this Gospel music.
The Happy Goodmen singing puts me back to a time of family reunions, old christian songs and church picnics on the grounds. Visiting my aunts eating scratch Cakes and being hugged till i couldnt breathe. They all sang the old songs when together. I never felt so loved or protected as they sang the christian songs raising their hands to God. We need this back into our homes . The Gaithers are such special people. We love your music !!
I listen to their music every single day. I go to sleep listening to it also. At 76 years old, I know I do not have a lot of years left and I pray that I leave this world listening to Vestal singing. That would be perfect!!
Boy, isn’t that the truth?!!sight has been lost in the churches now with all the rock and roll worship, and kicking out the great red book hymns!! Those hymns helped bring people to salvation in their church!!

Everybody at that piano was so enamored with that lady. They could see the power that she wielded and her soul. It drew a lot of people in and to her. And when she opened her mouth to sing, It was all over. The spirit started moving, and the goosebumps started to appear
All my children heard Vestal and I pray they heard her testimony! Back then parents didn't think to talk to children! That's unfortunate! In spite of that all my nine children got saved! Our earth is so scary right now!
Praise the lord. I taught mine to pray on the floor with me and they all 3 received the Holy Ghost but I feel I failed to teach much of the Bible, like you say back then we didn't talk so much to the kids ( what were we thinking!?) These songs played continuously in our home. We didn't do church, however, I preached my receiving of the Holy Ghost testimony and most of our family received! My mother, 2 sisters and our children and now grandchildren are being filled. We will all see our salvation come to a saved state when he descends to take us back home...I credit the happy Goodman music for our many hours of wonderful worship!!!

47 years ago in Paintsville, Kentucky, the group I sang with The SonShine SINGING sang on the stage as THE HAPPY GOODMANS. NOW THAT WAS A JOY OF MY LIFE.
I don't recall hearing them until years ago on one of the Gaither videos. What wonderful music. What a blessing. And Got bless Bill and Gloria for bringing us this wonderful music
Seriously! Darn...no people hear .. I'm shocked! I know so many people admired these people. I was a young teenager when my mother turned me into this! Only if mother's would only realize the way to keep our youth is through our love our love of God!
The Gaithers are always honoring the great gospel singers of years gone bye. But I can think of know one who done more to restore, promote gospel singers than the Gaithers. If anyone need to be honored, it’s the Gaithers themselves

The Go9dmans were among the unique on gospel music. They were ministers as well as singers and had a church for almost 30 years. They traveled and came home and worked in their church.. I am not sure how much rest they got. They just worked tirelessly for the Lord!!

Johnny Minick was a blessed addition to Howard and Vestal.. thank you Lord for putting them together!! Yesterday was the 20 th anniversary of Howard's death and the 27th of this month the 19th anniversary of Vestals death. Yet here they are ministering to us from Heaven!! Thanks be to God!!

I watched them every Saturday night with my family. I seem to remember the line up of shows included the wilburn bros show, the porter wagner show, and the buck Owen’s show. Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn became stars featured as the “girl singers” on these shows.

Now a days you have men wearing shorts, hats, torn shirts and ladies wearing practically nothing at all. These were Classy, God fearing honorable times. A era long gone. I finally got this on DVD and its better in every way except the sound quality seems to be better on the VHS copy. Still glad I got it though easier to preserve.
