Wow... forget the music, and the video (I mean, they are both amazing)... this really makes me want to get out into the world and meet people and experience different cultures.
I saw the walkmen live at Harvest Fest a few months ago and they blew my mind ! They've been a massive influence on my song writing for a while now and I've just posted 2 new songs for my solo project ' Glacierbrain' They are called ; In the Coming Years, and Shouting Obscenities at the Neighbours Party I'd love to know what musical connoisseurs like yourselves think. :)
Sorry but I think this is a great video... Happy kids, happy to be kids just playing... I wish we had that in the western world more... Kids want ipads, makeup, fashions, computer games... I don't see kids with the same genuine smiles round here like I do there..
Vi este video luego q me mandaron un mail de publicidad viral, que bien me siento que hayan más personas con la capacidad de ver más allá de lo que se alcanza a ver!
Beautiful song, beautiful video, but they don't fit well together. The mood of this song brings back many fond memories of drinking with my buddies and wooing my college girlfriend in the pubs of my hometown back in the 90s. When I hear it, I don't think about little Nepalese kids in the Himalayas at all. I wish they had done a more literal video of this song and saved the Nepal footage for another tune. "Polished mahogany, gin and cigars" "I'm here to see you." Ah, those were the days.
great song. knew i should get into this band ages ago. just re-stumbled upon them and this clip. downloading album now. and illegally, i admit.. but based on what i hear here i will see them if they come to australia.. they'll make more money off that than me buying their cd.
I agree :) There is another video filmed in Nepal by the same author, Bruno Levy. It's the videoclip for "Debutonner" of Modeselektor: th-cam.com/video/XxlC_Bc6LRQ/w-d-xo.html
so i dont get yelled at again you should all know that its just a funny reference to a web comic i read, i couldnt give a crap about the band or singer
In two years time I am going to travel to Bhutan, this video is an inspiration to me.
This video is simply beautiful, I love the music and the Walkmen but there's something very special about the video.

Ahh Kagbeni, what a place. So many people miss out when they jump on the jeep from Muktinath. This is Nepal, I've been to this village several times.
