I think you are the only reviewer who had all 4 minivans in one comparison. Unfortunately, I think you missed some key points that no other reviewer has covered. How the 2nd row flips, folds or slides with the child seat installed and ease of latch point access. Rear seat entertainment features, even if some didn't have it installed, you could've talked about what they offer. The rear seat camera quality and rear cabin talk could've been compared. Each of them have a unique way the 3rd row folds down and should have been shown. Maybe even a full sized suitcase to show the cargo size. Since you had all 4 on the same day on the same roads, a decibel meter reading would've been cool. And test the smart cruise control and lane keep tech. Your presentation is nice but needs to be streamlined, especially with a large test like this.

Working for a car rental fleet
Sienna most passenger volume it’s huge!
It does what van does! (engine struggles to catch speed whiney droney noise due to CVT)
Chrysler Pacifica has the most options from E-hybrid, AWD, FWD has vacuum 2 touch screens for rear passengers famcam and a 3rd row sunroof! (carpet liner in trunk area falls off over time, auto stop start errors are common but minor)
Honda Odyssey most refine! vacuum and Honda watch cam only 1 screen for rear (sliding door issues not working or panel falls off door)
Kia Carnival Bang for your buck, you get a lot for its price (Check Engine Light and it’s in recall already)

GM, Nissan, Volkswagen, Mazda and Ford needs to get back into the minivan market just like what is happening to midsize trucks.

Ford Ram Nissan (and gm's version of nissan's platform) and Mercedes all just discontinued thier minivan last year and this year due to poor sales to focus on 3rd row crossovers. These 4 are about the sweet spot for the market. Except that Chrysler/Fiat would likely do better to absorb the Pacifica brand into Dodge as the Caravan and just end the barely existent Chrysler name all together.

My van is 2013 Sienna, I bought it new and never had a problem. I love it, and I agree with the statement that it's most honest minivan. I din't aspect much when I test drove it, but then kept on finding some plesant surprises during the ownership. I also have 2020 highlander, only because I need to tow a trailer, but in my opinion Sienna is much better for a family with 2 or more kids.

Lol I literally ranked them in the exact opposite order. Honda being the worst van out there. Chrysler is lacking in refinement? The definition of refinement is the pacifica. Most reviews say the pacifica has one of the best ride lol I'm lost with words. The Hondas interior is poor at best, no stow and go; dash looks 2008. And no awd. How can you pick a van for #1 spot with no awd? I'd put the Kia first if it had awd. Plus you can get a plug in hybrid with the pacifica, best crash rating, stow and go and by far the best styling. Toyota is great also. But Honda I'd definitely rate #4

this AWD minivan comment is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Minivans don't need to be AWD and if you're looking for an AWD vehicle get a crossover or SUV because minivans are made for roads and to haul families, they don't need to be AWD. that's like saying a Honda Accord should bee AWD when you'll never actually need it and all it'll do is ruin your fuel economy.

The Mercury Villager didn't turn into the Mercury Monterey. The Villager was discontinued and the Freestar was simply rebadged. For me, the Pacifica and Carnival are tops because they look the best inside and out and the Pacifica has the added benefit of a dark headliner which I think looks great. AWD shouldn't be such a big factor as most vans are sold with FWD even when AWD is available.

This is the best review by far among minivans. I totally agree with everything you said. Not biased! Yup, same here, i liked sienna most, reliabilty and the looks it's there, but it's lacking that v6 power which gives it 30% less in rating. Odyssey is a bit old school, the looks is a bit boring, but reliabilty and power-wise that gives it the win! -and I love thay big 3rd row windows, so my in-laws don't ask for too many stop overs during long drives! Lol

This is a completely misleading review why? Because the reason you don't choose the Cardinal is because it is front wheel drive, but you choose the Honda by the number one , but it's front wheel drive too, but my question is why if the carnival is way better in every aspect and it's way more luxurious and have a better price? I have the Honda but I don't think by any chance the kia is less reliable, kia make really good car I think maybe even better like Honda right now

Lexus has a 3.5 l hybrid I don't know why they chose to go with the 2.5 l hybrid for the sienna they should have used the 3.5
It would have not only been the fastest minivan but it would have been smoother, the engine would not have to work as hard, and it still would have gotten class leading MPG

I drove the 2017 Pacifica...hands down its the best driving, best handling. Etc compared to all the others. Honda odyssey feels awful and too light for a van feels bumps, etc. Toyota sienna feels no better than the previous yrs. and fuel economy not great...Kia Carnival same as Honda odyssey they feel more as an SUV. Chrysler Pacifica again best ride, handling and fuel economy we got 29.7 mpg freeway!!!

I fly all over the country and I have rented all of these several times, except the carnival. Although I am not a fan of Chrysler, I can concur the Pacifica has the smoothest ride. It is more true to the traditional, soft, comfortable, American pillowy ride. The Honda feels too light and sporty to me.

The Honda seriously lacking a bunch of designers who have some sense. Look at their front grill, side and back looks OK but killed that van by giving that black Gros grill. It would have looked nice if they didn't squeeze its front..I like the reliability of Toyota and Honda but they lack quality interior and a futuristic design big time...

On the Pacifica, ignoring incentives and the plug in Hybrid is disingenuous. Nobody in the real world pays more for a Chrysler than a comparable Honda or Toyota, and nobody else offers a plug-in hybrid, yet you knock it for gas mileage. That said, I think Toyota's combination of a regular hybrid drivetrain along with their AWD system makes the Sienna the top pick for me. Can't find a single one on dealer lots, though.

  • @djkenny1202
    @djkenny1202 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Sienna LE Plus. Only one I would consider. I appreciate the fuel economy. AWD option.Long term ownership is a different world. Chrysler is Garbage. Kia has problems. Honda won’t hold up as well. You find Sienna vans with over 300k all the time.
They all feel Big to me on the road. There needs to be a new Mazda 5 type car.

  • @deniscdyck

Did you just say that the odyssey does not have captain's chairs when every single trim has captain's chairs with the added bonus of the removable middle seat? Do you even know that you do not "have" to access the third row by going in between the second row seats? And how on earth did you not see that the middle row moves back and forth in the Odyssey?
The second row versatility in the Odyssey is miles ahead of all the other 3 and you made it sound like it is the weakest one. The dentist chairs are pointless for kids and the stow and go seats are awfully uncomfortable just so that you can hide the seats 1-2 times a year and suffer 99.9% of the time you use the van.

    • @geraldsciales4272
