That 1.8 Engine has proven to be the best. My next car will be auto transmission. The cvt is slightly sluggish but it does well. The black interior is just 👌🏾
This 1.8 is fantastic man, I’m sure the manual handles it better but the convenience of the CVT is great. Yes, the black interior is also my favourite, it’s easy to keep clean.
Yes, it is quite thirsty and averages 7.4l/100 but one should take in mind it’s not a small engine, non turbo and the weight of the car. I definitely think the manual will perform better.
@@maxlodewyk_na it's a 1.6 manual, was just doing 100 - 120 and +120 when I had to overtake, I still have it though, currently in 201 088 km and still moving like new💯 everything functional, nothing replaced but oil change services every 15k km, front shocks once and brake pads 🙌🏾 so I'd say it's a pretty reliable and simple car, love it, my mission is to take it to 510 000 km😎
@@immanuel1954 awesome. I’ll try to match that by strictly doing 120 to see how far I can go. I’ve managed to push it to Oshivelo but that’s doing between 120 - 140 km/h. Yes, these Corollas are really reliable, so far we’ve only done service and replaced brakes as well. Thanks for the detailed feedback, much appreciated.
@@maxlodewyk_nawhat a nonsense😂 Dsg and cvt are NOT the same thing. if they were they'd have the SAME NAME. Continuous Variable Transmission. = CVT. Direct Shift Gearbox = DSG. come on man, be better. these two things are very different
You either get a manual or automatic transmission. Under the automatic you find various types ie., DSG, CVT, Triptronic, DCT etc, by “same” I meant just like a DSG, CVT is also automatic.

I have the exact same one, owing it for 3 years now, I'm impressed with the power it has, it gets to 200km/h very quickly 😊🎉
If you want to move, it doesn’t ask many questions, it just goes. How’s your maintenance been so far?
Does it have a reverse camera?
@@linconymakore2657 yes it does.
So with a full tank, it only goes from WHK to Oshivelo? Quite a thirsty car actually. Perhaps a manual will have a better fuel efficiency

Great review mate👊
Thank you for watching and leaving a solid comment. 🙏🏾
So the quest is the older and the corolla regular is the new one??
Yes.
I'd say fuel consumption depends on the speed you're driving, I once drove a 2016 quest plus from Whk to Ondangwa without filling up
That’s great to know. What was the engine capacity, manual or auto and what was your average speed?

Good information
Now I understand why Corolla cross is high in south africa the sharing of engine with sudden that is urber business is the problem.
Yes, that's why. They share the exact same engine.
The sound system have how many speakers?
6
@@maxlodewyk_na I hope the sound with that six speakers is doing fine.
@@ndlovugeo9661 it’s decent, only when you hit highway speeds that you need to increase your volume.
wait ,did you say 900 dollars to fill up the tank...??? thats impossible
This was at the time I did the review. A full tank cost us N$900. With the new fuel price, it took above N$1031.
@@maxlodewyk_na oh its in Namibian dollar...??? I thought it was US dollars and $900 is an equivalent of R15000...
@Pellow_ noooooo, it’s Namibian 😂😂😂.
@@maxlodewyk_na 🤣🤣 it makes sense now...
Is Cvt the same as dsg for VW?
Yeah. It stands for continuous variable transmission (a type of automatic gearbox), which in other brands such as Nissan are not reliable at all.
@@maxlodewyk_na had a Nissan Note CVT new shape, it was brand new, drove it for 9 days and the transmission completely died.
That’s so disappointing from Nissan. Their CVTs are really a disappointment.
