The PS4 Second Screen app puts access to a lot of your PlayStation 4's controls and features at your fingertips. You can turn your PS4 on and off, use it as a keyboard, use it as a controller to navigate your device's home screen, access and send chat messages, and more. Setting up the PS4 Second Screen app only takes a few minutes.
Now let's walk through the steps to set up the PS4 Second Screen app.
Step 1. Download and install the PlayStation 4 Second Screen app from the App Store on either your iPhone, iPad or Android device.
Step 2. Launch the PlayStation 4 Second Screen app, and then tap "Sign in to PSN." Enter the username and password associated with your PlayStation Network account on the next screen, and then tap "Sign In." You'll land on a screen that shows you any PlayStation devices connected to the same wireless network as your iPhone, iPad or Android device.
Step 3. Turn on your PlayStation 4 console and then click "Settings" on your PS4 home screen. The Settings screen appears.
Step 4. Choose "Mobile App Connection Settings." The Mobile App Connection Settings screen is displayed.
Step 5. Choose "Add Device." An Add Device screen is displayed with a number on it. Additionally, you'll see a Remaining Time countdown timer, which will tell you how long the number is good for.
Step 6. Now go back to the PlayStation 4 Second Screen app, and tap the PlayStation 4 you want to connect to. A screen appears with a prompt to enter the number displayed on your PS4 screen. Enter the number in the app. You'll now see your device added to the Add Devices section on your PS4 console.
Now, when you access your PS4 console through the PlayStation 4 Second Screen app, you can use the app to navigate your PS4 home screen, enter text on your PS4 console, access a second screen for any games that have that feature to see things like maps and radar, see chat messages, and more.

I’m trying to watch a movie on streaming and the app won’t open so I’m trying to basically airplay the movie from my phone to the ps4, I feel stupid because none of this is working and it seems like it’s not intended to work like that.

Some people don’t know how second screen is used. If you truly want a second screen I recommend you getting PS Remote Play. That’s also how I get sound to play when I don’t have a speaker or headphones.

I'm using a galaxy s10e and when I enter in the number on my TV screen it doesn't work, it says "the number is incorrect" maybe because I can't enter in spaces because what I entered in is certainly not wrong

I have an issue where my phone app can detect the PS4 when the PS4 is on Wifi, but when Im using a LAN cable, it doesnt detect.

According to the official step by step guide, the ps4 and your phone need to be on the same wifi network. They also need to be logged into the same ps account. He totally skipped over those crucial steps
Sorry I'm a little miffed right now. I followed the steps correctly, as far as I can tell, but the app keeps telling me "No ps4 detected" and now I'm into troubleshooting land. Connection speed is around 160Mbps. I restarted my phone, uninstalled reinstalled, same problem

Only remote play can be used via same wifi connection. You do this by connecting both devices to the same wifi. However, ps4 second screen requires you to manually enter the code on your ps4

Yeah i had the same problem. With the remote play app as well. But i fixed the remote play login by using chrome. However the second screen app doesnt let you use your own browser and opens the website to login on its own browser.... Thats the issue

They must have disabled it now. That is absolute BS! I've played games on my PS4 from my phone & its screen before.. I came back to this particular app to try and see if I could use it to connect my game sound to my bluetooth speaker from my phones connection.. If I recall correctly you hear sound of the game play as well as controlling it bit I just need it for sound.. I go to add the code on ps4 display screen on the apps enter code screen but it flashes and send me back to choosing what game system to add.. It show for a microsecond then switches screen 😬😡🤬🤯

It probably means that the game you're playing doesn't have a second screen feature. This will only be available if the game you're playing uses Second Screen.

Did you adjust all of the settings I outlined early in the video? Those ensure your PS4 will be discoverable. Also, make sure they are connected to the same wifi network.
