- Our journey to Manaslu begins with a 200km long 4WD vehicle ride from Kathmandu to Macha Khola from where we head out for an incredible journey to reach the mystical high Himalayas of Manaslu!

Day 1: Kathmandu to Macha Khola by road
Day 2: Macha Khola to Jagat
Day 3: Jagat to Deng
Day 4: Deng at Namrung
Day 5: Namrung to Lho
Day 6: Lho to Samagaun
Day 7: Rest day at Samagaun and hike to Birendra Lake
Day 8: Hike up to Pungyen Gompa
Day 9: Helicopter ride back to Kathmandu from Samagaun

Oh, what a memory. Me and my wife did it at the beginning of winter in 2019. But we were lucky enough to cross the Larke La though there was heavy snowfall. Thank you to those yaks and herders who cleared the way. Most underrated trekking routes. Highly recommended.

Samagaon is one of the bleakest / most miserable stops on the Manaslu circuit. Is your memory failing you??
This was a lovely, gentle film, thank you for posting. Because you are native Nepali (?) , somehow the atmosphere is less intrusive than the usual routine of Westerners putting cameras in the faces of long suffering mountain villagers. It is well known that Nepalis are amongst the best and most decent people on earth. Your country, people and culture are amazing. Best wishes from Scotland!

Your videos are so soothing and serene to watch. I pause the video and google earth everytime you mention the stop places . However, i notice that snow and greens are more on the Nepalese side than the Chinese side which is rather dry and barren. I was wondering whether the reason is because the monsoon rains don't reach the Chinese mountains .
Thank you for your beautiful comment. Yes the reason is the high mountains in Nepal block the rain cloud from reaching Tibetan plateau.
There is no 'chinese side' - only the area that the 'dogs of asia' tried to capture. Nepalese, Tibetans, Hindus, and Sikhs have always gotten along in this region. It is only the chinese vermin that spoil the party.
